Halle Back in Hospital

Accident prone Hollywood star Halle Berry has been left wounded again - from another on-set accident. The actress smashed her head on lights on Saturday, during a late- night shoot on the set of Catwoman and was taken to hospital. Halle then spent seven hours undergoing tests to make sure she hadn't done any lasting damage before she was allowed to go home. The actress isn't new to accidents on set - she broke her arm while filming Gothika and damaged her eye on the set of James Bond drama Die Another Day.

Spears Clashes with Knowles

Britney Spears stunned her Pepsi advert co-stars Beyonce Knowles and Pink when she stormed out on them, following a bitter row with the Destiny's Child beauty. The pop trio - who feature as scantily-clad gladiators in the soft drinks promo - stood united during the premiere of the advert in London on Monday, but later launched into a heated confrontation at the capital's Nobu restaurant, according to Britain's Daily Star tabloid. Although event organizers had reportedly tried to keep the warring threesome apart, the singers sat down for dinner together at the plush eaterie - until Britney ran out just 10 minutes into the meal. An insider says, "It was ridiculous. Pepsi fork out millions to get this super-trio together for an advert and they can't even be civil to each other for the duration of a meal. Beyonce was sniping at Britney who was giving as good as she got. Pink stonewalled the pair of them. It looked like it was going to turn nasty, then Britney stormed out with a face like thunder."

Streisand "Is Reading Fockers Script"

Ben Stiller's plan to recruit singing diva Barbra Streisand to play his mother in upcoming sequel Meet The Fockers looks to be working - she's reading the script. According to her husband James Brolin, the 61-year-old Funny Girl Oscar-winner has started to leaf through the final draft of the eagerly-anticipated movie - after Stiller made his desire to cast her public. Brolin says, "I know she's reading it." If she agrees Streisand will join returning cast members Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner and Owen Wilson. Her on-screen husband will be played by acting legend Dustin Hoffman.

Jackson's Children Interviewed by Welfare Officers

Troubled pop superstar Michael Jackson's two young children have been interviewed by welfare officers, after their mother Debbie Rowe expressed concerns about their safety. Prince Michael, six, and Paris, five, were quizzed by officials at their Beverly Hills, California home, which they share with the Thriller star, 45. The move comes after Rowe reportedly began legal proceedings against her former husband in a bid to win custody of the youngsters. Rowe has accused Jackson - who is currently facing multiple child abuse charges - of being an "unfit father" and denying the pair a "normal life". She also claims Jackson is not the biological father of either child and that they were conceived using artificial insemination. According to a Jackson family source, the children's nannies were also interviewed during the visit, at which the Bad superstar was present. Previously, the singer's parents Joe and Katherine Jackson had pledged to take responsibility for Prince Michael and Paris - and their baby brother Prince Michael II, whose mother is unknown - in the event of Jackson's imprisonment.

Farrell: Alexander Is Not All About Bisexuality

Irish hunk Colin Farrell has shunned reports the homosexual elements in his new film Alexander will dominate the plot. Maverick director Oliver Stone has included details of the Macedonian warrior Alexander The Great's bisexuality in his movie, but Farrell - who plays the title role - insists such references are only minor to the story. He claims Stone was keen to portray the historical figure accurately and didn't want to ignore facts surrounding his sexual antics. Colin says, "There was no term for it then, it was just part of the culture, what happened was older men, 50-70 year olds, used to spend the evening with younger men and impart their knowledge to them and then they'd go to bed together. It's not a gay film, it's not a straight film - it's just a f***ing story."

Kevin Smith Blames Media for Jen and Ben Meltdown

Film-maker Kevin Smith has blamed the media for pal Ben Affleck's failed romance with superstar Jennifer Lopez. Smith, who directed the pair in the upcoming movie Jersey Girl, believes their love meltdown was a result of the constant attention the pair received from the press - which is what the screen stars blamed for the cancellation of their September wedding. He says, "If I had to point a finger about why they broke up, I would blame the media, though maybe there's some law of physics that says two insanely good looking people cannot be together." Smith, who helped make Affleck a star in Chasing Amy, insists he doesn't regret taking up his pal's suggestion to cast J.Lo, even though the Gigli-generated publicity surrounding the couple has helped keep Jersey Girl on the shelf since it was completed in the autumn of 2002. He adds, "I think I got a better performance out of the dude than if he was acting opposite someone else, because of the way he felt about Jen. At times, I felt like the third wheel in the relationship. Hopefully, my next flick will have an all-male cast."

Redford's Audience with Castro

Movie legend Robert Redford sparked controversy on Monday when he met with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro - after taking his new film The Motorcycle Diaries to the country. The Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid star was in Havana exhibiting the film - which charts late Cuban revolutionary Ernesto 'Che' Guevara's nine-month motorbike ride through South America - when infamous Castro came to the Hotel Nacional to see him. Redford says, "He came to me. He seemed in good health, good humor, good spirit." The Oscar winner shocked Tinseltown by meeting communist leader Castro, a friend of Guevara, in Cuba in 1988 - and was interrogated by US Treasury Department agents upon his return to America. Another notable attendee at the Hotel was Che's widow Aleida March, who told producer Redford his movie was "excellent".

Travolta and Phoenix's Firefighting Worries Bosses

John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix worried the producers of their upcoming movie Ladder 49 a great deal - because they got a little too involved in their firefighting research. Travolta and Phoenix, along with co-star Balthazar Getty, spent a month of hands-on training at an academy to prepare for their film, which sees them playing firefighters from Baltimore, Maryland - but their devotion sparked grave concerns. Getty recalls, "We went out on a real call and into a real fire, and there was no supervision. It was just us with the firefighters, and they didn't care. It was exhilarating, and it was scary. You're with these guys in your turnout gear, you've got your tank on your back, and you almost feel like you can walk right into it and not get hurt. Once the producers realized what we were doing, they put a stop to it. We got a big memo saying, 'You are no longer allowed to do ride-alongs with the fire department.'"

Lennox: I Don't Know If I Can Make the Oscars

Former Eurythmics star Annie Lennox will only perform her Oscar- nominated song at this year's ceremony - if her family don't need her at home. The Scottish singer - whose track Into The West from The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King is up for the Best Song gong at next month's Academy Awards - has two daughters Lola and Tali with ex- husband Uri Fruchtman, and puts them before anything else, even the most exciting night of the showbiz calendar. She says, "I will if I can, it depends on what's happening with my daughter. It looks like fun, yes? But I'll definitely be at the Grammys!"

'American Idol 3' Hopefuls Depress Cowell

American Idol 3 judge Simon Cowell is massively unimpressed with the recent batch of pop star wannabes - because they can't sing and refuse to take his constructive criticism. The sharp-tongued music mogul - who was the victim of a water attack by one snubbed contestant recently - is furious with the quality of singers entering this year's competition. Cowell fumes, "People turn up who can't sing a note in tune and yet they believe they are the second coming."
