Spears's Husband Considers Future with Britney?
Britney Spears's soon-to-be ex-husband has hinted he's still interested in a relationship with the pop star following their drunken wedding this weekend. Jason Alexander, 22, speaking for the first time since his 5am 'joke' wedding to Spears in Las Vegas on Saturday, accepted the pair's actions were irresponsible - but indicated he holds out hope for a more considered relationship with the star in the future. He tells American TV's Access Hollywood, "I feel bad that I should have been more responsible than just jump up and go do what we did and cause a big controversy. "We are going to remain friends. As far as anything else goes I don't know what's going to happen." The college student - who is waiting for the annulment of the marriage to be processed by the courts - also spoke of how the pair came to the "wild and crazy" decision to spontaneously marry during a boozy night out. He said, "We had a really good time and it was Saturday night, well Saturday morning actually. We were looking out the window. We were looking at the lights in the city thinking this is a really pretty, beautiful night. "It was cool and we were looking at each other. We thought, 'Let's go do something wild and crazy. Let's go get married just for the hell of it. Let's go!' We just got up and said, 'Let's go do it!' "So why not? So we went to the chapel and we set everything up and we got married and we did everything, the pictures and everything." However, the newly weds quickly realized they'd made a massive mistake. Alexander explains, "We realized what we did was not the right thing to do. We shouldn't have done it. It wasn't the right way to go about it and we wanted to fix the mistake. "That's where the annulment came in. We sat down and talked and said, 'That wasn't a very cool thing we did.'" The annulment, which was filed at Las Vegas' Clark County Family courthouse later on Saturday, claims Britney, 22, did not understand what she was doing when she made her wedding vows. It states Spears, "Lacked understanding of her actions to the extent that she was incapable of agreeing to the marriage." The five-page document also claims the annulment should be granted as the pair realized they were "incompatible" after discussing each other's "desires" in life - despite growing up together in Kentwood, Louisiana. It continues, "Before entering into the marriage they did not know each other's likes and dislikes, each other's desires to have or not to have children and each other's desires as to state of residency. "Upon learning of each other's desires, they are so incompatible that there is a want of understanding of each other's actions in entering into this marriage. "
Affleck Remarks Infuriate Weinstein

Hollywood star Ben Affleck is in danger of permanently falling out with pal Harvey Weinstein following remarks he made denouncing the movie mogul. The 31-year-old actor first upset the Miramax boss in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, when he accused Weinstein of "whoring" him and Good Will Hunting co-star Matt Damon. Affleck said, "Matt Damon and I were a very successful marketing hook for Miramax, and they used it. It felt a little bit like we were whoring our friendship, like a guy out there with an organ grinder and a monkey." And now Affleck has again angered the film boss with his involvement in Peter Biskind's new book Down And Dirty Flicks, which heavily criticizes Weinstein. Insiders fear Affleck has put his floundering career in even worse jeopardy by alienating the powerful and influential Weinstein - his latest film Jersey Girl is financed by Miramax, reports website Page Six. A source says, "It is ironic. Right now, Ben's career is hinging on a Miramax film, and Ben makes comments like that?" But Affleck's spokesperson says, "Harvey is Ben's business partner and moreover his friend. He has nothing but respect for him, has true affection for him and loves teasing him."
Theron Spooked by Aileen's Ghost
Charlize Theron was left spooked on the set of new movie Monster when she discovered her real-life character's favorite places are haunted by her ghost. Murderess Aileen Wuornos was executed in October 2002, while Theron was shooting the biopic - and the actress claims cast and crew on Monster frequently crossed paths with the spirit of the prostitute-turned-man-killer. She says, "When we did our location scouting at Aileen's hangouts, like The Last Resort Bar, everywhere we went people would tell us some of the most frightening stories about her ghost. "It would do things like turn off lights, throw a bunch of knives into a wall. "At another bar, on the day the people there were watching and announcement of the execution on the news, they said a vase just went flying off the bar counter and shattered everywhere."
Matt Damon and Eva Mendes Officially Together
Stuck On You co-stars Matt Damon and Eva Mendes have made a public demonstration of their love, following months of media speculation. Good Will Hunting star Matt has always sidestepped questions about his close friendship with Mendes, who he met on the set of the Farrelly Brothers comedy while still dating long term love Odessa Whitmire. But onlookers were left in No Doubt about the couple's burgeoning romance when they celebrated the New Year with pals Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez in Las Vegas, Nevada. An insider tells website Page Six, "They were definitely together."
Wahlberg's Romance Hots Up

Hunky actor Mark Wahlberg's affair with young actress Jessica Alba is getting serious - the pair spent a wild New Year's Eve together in Miami, Florida. The Boogie Nights actor, 32, shocked friends when he broke off his engagement to long-term love Rhea Durham, who he reportedly proposed to as she gave birth to his four-month-old daughter Ella Rae - and was spotted soon after getting cozy with 22-year-old Dark Angel star Alba. The pair began their festive celebrations with a private dinner at the Delano Hotel, and saw in the New Year at Ian Schrager's exclusive Shore Club. An onlooker says, "Mark and Jessica came together. They were very publicly all over each other." Wahlberg's actor pal Adrien Brody also had a good night for romance at the Shore Club - he spent the evening paying attention to a mystery woman, with the source adding, "They were sitting together, but he wouldn't let photographers take any pictures. Nobody knew who she was."
Tolkien Great-Grandson Gives Jackson 'Hobbit' Blessing
Peter Jackson has some very special support in his quest to film J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit - the author's great-grandson. The director, who made a trilogy of Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings books to massive critical and commercial acclaim, is hoping disputes over the novel's rights will not prove an obstacle to making the movie prequel - and Royd Tolkien, 34, has now given Jackson his blessing. He says, "I would love to see Peter Jackson make a film of The Hobbit. That would be the perfect ending."
Ray Davies Shot
Kinks legend Ray Davies has been shot in the right thigh in New Orleans after muggers stole his girlfriend's handbag. The "Waterloo Sunset" rocker, 59, was walking in the city's downtown area during a holiday when the incident occurred yesterday evening. Police said that after the bag was snatched, Davies gave chase to the two unidentified men - one of whom responded by turning and shooting at him. Police spokesperson Marlon Defillo told reporters Davies was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated, and said he expected the "You Really Got Me" singer to be discharged today. Officers arrested one man but are still looking for a second, who fled the scene. Spokespeople for Davies were unavailable for comment.
Macpherson Plans To Befriend Joey Again

Supermodel Elle Macpherson is the latest name to be linked to actor Matt LeBlanc's Friends spin-off Joey. The sexy Australian steamed up the small screen with her turn as Joey Tribbiani's roommate Janine Lecroix in the sixth series of the New York based series. And now that Joey will be leaving Manhattan to move to Los Angeles for the upcoming series, producers are keen to reunite the good looking pair. Janine and Joey's brief romance ended when the leggy dancer revealed she hated his best pals Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross and Chandler.
Lover Drops 'High Maintenance' Flynn Boyle

Actress Lara Flynn Boyle has been dumped by lover Jay Penske - thanks to her "high maintenance" temperament. The 36-year-old Men In Black II star - who started dating the auto parts heir after her on/off romance with veteran actor Jack Nicholson ended last year - got a tattoo in tribute to Jay just two months ago. Boyle opted for a tattoo of a small bird because Jay's nickname is 'Jaybird'. But now the 24-year-old has decided to move on, calling the actress "high maintenance", reports website Page Six.
Gooding Jr: Will Smith Gets All the Roles

Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding Jr. has slammed movie bosses who refuse to give black actors the same opportunities as their white colleagues. The actor also argues that when a good African-American role comes up in Hollywood, it is automatically given to Will Smith. Cuba, 34, says, "I'll never forget when Will Smith came off TV and did his first movie and nobody really paid attention to him. "Then he did Independence Day and it made all this money and boom - he was the go-to guy. And they didn't see it as, 'Let's set a black man up', they saw him as a way to bring the people to the audience. "To this day I speak to my agent about these great roles and he's like, 'They're all going to Will Smith.'" Gooding, after the success of early films like Boyz N The Hood and Jerry Maguire, has recently appeared in critical and commercial flops like 2002's Boat Trip, whilst Smith has starred in the hit Bad Boys and Men In Black franchises, as well as the acclaimed Ali.
