'Training Day' Director Antoine Fuqua Sued

A woman has sued Training Day director Antoine Fuqua - accusing him of threatening her life and bringing false stalking and harassment charges against her in an effort to hide an affair. The lawsuit, seeking unspecified damages, was filed on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court by personal trainer Tanya Evans, 30, just a day before the release of Fuqua's new flick Tears Of The Sun - in which Bruce Willis plays a Navy SEAL. Fuqua's lawyer, Barry Hirsch, says, "We have received communications from her counsel in the past threatening to go public unless we paid a substantial amount of money. "The allegations are untrue, and we refused to buy into such behavior." Evans was arrested last May for allegedly loitering, trespassing and making harassing phone calls after she went to Fuqua's San Fernando Valley home, California and spoke with his wife, actress Lela Rochon. The city attorney's office dropped most of the charges, however, saying there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. She was acquitted of a single count of making harassing phone calls. According to the lawsuit, Evans and Fuqua met at a shopping mall in May 2001 and embarked on a relationship that involved meetings at various hotels. Evans says she ended the relationship last March when Fuqua began working on Tears Of The Sun

Pregnant Zeta-Jones on Baby Alert

Pregnant actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is so concerned she'll go into labor at the Oscars - she's putting an ambulance on standby. A medical team will also be on hand as the Welsh star - nominated for a Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Chicago - sits through the four-hour ceremony in Los Angeles. Even though her baby will be due in less than two weeks at the time of prestigious event, the brunette is determined to attend. But her actor-husband Michael Douglas is worried the excitement could start her contractions - and he's insisting on medics being nearby. A medical expert agrees with the Falling Down star, saying, "I'd be nervous about a patient in Ms. Zeta-Jones's condition attending such a ceremony. It is a long event and it will be hot in the theatre due to all the camera lights."

Wahlberg to Become a Dad

Hollywood hunk Mark Wahlberg is going to be a dad for the first time - despite splitting from the mother-to-be two months ago. Model Rhea Durham, who had been dating the Planet Of The Apes star for two years, is due to give birth in July. A friend of Mark says, "He's very happy. He's really looking forward to being a dad. She's also been telling everyone that she's happy to be having his baby." Former rapper and underwear model Wahlberg will next be seen in this summer's remake of The Italian Job, co-starring Edward Norton and Charlize Theron.

Drew Sought Solace from George

Drew Barrymore recovered from her marriage break up with madcap comedian Tom Green thanks to help from Hollywood hunk George Clooney. The actress started work on the film Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind with Clooney just after the pair split, and found the Ocean's Eleven star to be the perfect counselor. Former hellraising child star Barrymore married Green on July 7 but the couple filed for divorce just five months later. She says, "It was weird. I wasn't in great shape emotionally but I was lucky I had George to talk to during filming. He would give me a wink once in a while to check out how I was doing - that meant as much to me as anything else." But she insists her short-lived marriage to Green wasn't all bad, saying, "I think I realized that we had different ideas about our life together before we got married. I probably didn't commit myself to being with Tom as much as he liked because I was working a lot. But I still appreciate our time together and I feel bad that things didn't work out."

'The Mummy' Set for Return Without Fraser and Weisz

The third installment of The Mummy franchise is set to hit movie screens - without its stars Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. The latest concept being developed for the latest flick would have ancient King Imhotep waking up "in contemporary times, with new stars" according to star Arnold Vosloo. Vosloo notes that Brendan and Rachel were last seen with a baby in The Mummy Returns and if they were to return, questions about aging their characters would have to be addressed. Vosloo says of the two previous films which were set in the 1920s, "In a weird way, we've kind of done that period. Taking the story to a different time would open up all new possibilities. It could even be set in the 1950s or '60s - whenever the Mummy wakes up."

Sir Sean's Scots Support

Sir Sean Connery was so committed to his native Scotland's bid for independence that he financed the Scottish National Party for six years. The smooth-voiced actor reveals that he deposited $1.2 million in an off-shore account in 1995, and regularly donated the monthly interest of around $8,000 to the political party. James Bond star Connery told Glasgow's Herald newspaper, "I have never told anyone before about the £750,000 deposit." But the Entrapment movie veteran had to halt his philanthropy in 2001 when new laws stated that parties were not allowed to accept money from people not on Britain's electoral register - and Connery is resident in the Bahamas. However, the Herald claims that Connery is still able to transfer sums as he has an address in London - and he was omitted from the register due to an oversight. The 72-year-old actor now plans to make more donations, but says, "I haven't made the donation yet because I have to clarify how much you can make." In addition to these financial boosts, Connery continues his vocal support of the leading advocates of Scottish independence through a series of audio and video tapes he has recorded for the SNP. He adds, "In the recordings, I say that for me the big picture of Scotland is nothing less than equality with England: a Scotland that makes her own decisions, a sovereign state that will be a voice in Europe and around the world."

Ozzy's Wife Sharon Beats Cancer

Rocker Ozzy Osbourne has blown $490,000 on a lavish party to celebrate wife Sharon Osbourne's victory in her battle against cancer. The star was delighted when Sharon's doctors gave her the all clear on Friday, so the whole family celebrated with a spectacular bash and a luxury holiday in Hawaii. A pal says, "Sharon was ecstatic after getting news, but Ozzy was even happier. He would be lost without Sharon. He's been a mess ever since her diagnosis. Ozzy wanted to do something special for Sharon after she got the great doctor's report. So he got to work and planned a lavish surprise party for her and their 200 closest friends. Ozzy worked a miracle. In a few short days he put together this extravagant party and more. Ozzy was on cloud nine the whole night Sharon was surprised and thrilled."

Crowe's Flick Pushed Back to Increase Oscar Chances

The release Russell Crowe's upcoming movie Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World has been moved back - in the hope it will pick up Oscar nominations for 2004. The sailing flick was originally set to be released in June, but bosses at movie studio 20th Century Fox have decided to shift it to a much later date, November, so the film is still fresh in the minds of voters when nomination time arrives. In the movie, Crowe will be playing 'Lucky' Jack Aubrey from the bestselling novels of Patrick O'Brien. He'll co-star with actor Paul Bettany, husband of Crowe's Oscar-winning A Beautiful Mind co-star Jennifer Connelly.

Police Considering Townshend Caution

The Who rocker Pete Townshend is likely to avoid a court case over child pornography charges - and be let off with a caution instead. The British guitarist, who was arrested in January on suspicion of downloading child pornography from the internet, would not need to go to court if the deal is made - but will be left with a criminal record. However, in order for this to happen the 57-year old, who has fiercely protested his innocence claiming he was researching a book, will be forced to make an admission of guilt. On his website he writes, "I hope the police will make their decision very soon, so that I can communicate with you again more fully." According to legal sources a full prosecution is "highly unlikely."

Madonna Poses as Human Pretzel

Madonna has already conquered the music world and gained success in movies - but she also has talents fit for a circus. The 44-year-old Material Girl can be seen twisting her body into a pretzel, in a photo shoot for American magazine W. There are more than 40 pages of photos showing Madonna in some bizarre, near- impossible positions and equally strange outfits. And the wife of movie-maker Guy Ritchie says she's no longer the "ego-driven nut case" she used to be. The magazine also features pictures of her two children - Lourdes and Rocco - calling them her "real works of art."
