Fonda Needs Harvard Cash After Investment Crash
Jane Fonda withdrew her multi-million dollar grant to Harvard University, because the value of her divorce settlement has collapsed. Fonda reneged on her promise to provide the Ivy League university with $12.5 million last week and expects to be handed back approximately half of her original donation. The veteran actress divorced billionaire Ted Turner two years ago and was presented with a healthy divorce settlement. However her money was linked to the stock market which has been on a downward spiral ever since and her lucrative windfall is now considerably slimmer.
Zeta-Jones: I Was "Devastated" by Shock Pics
Catherine Zeta-Jones has told London's High Court how she was "devastated, shocked and appalled" upon realizing paparazzi had invaded her wedding to Michael Douglas. The couple wed in November 2000 at New York's Plaza Hotel having sold exclusive picture image rights to OK! magazine. Catherine said it was just the wedding she had wanted, but the experience was soured for the couple when they realized pirated pictures of the event were to be published in rival Hello! magazine. She told the court, "Our peace and happiness evaporated. I felt violated and that something precious had been stolen from me." The pair are currently in London giving evidence in their case against the British magazine, which they are suing for $750,000 damages. Catherine, 33, also blasted the photographs that were eventually published, as "tacky." She says, "The quality was what any bride would hate to have out there. It was cheap and tacky and everything I didn't want to have shown as being part of my special day." Chicago star Catherine was also asked why the famous pair had hired guards on their wedding day. She replied, "To protect against unwanted guests coming in, disguising themselves or trying to sneak information, (and) so that we felt comfortable to let our hair down and enjoy the wedding the way we wanted to enjoy it." Catherine and Michael are hoping to persuade presiding judge Mr. Justice Lindsay their privacy and confidence was breached at the wedding. The case continues.
Kidman Denies Law Romance

Hollywood stunner Nicole Kidman has denied that she has become romantically involved with actor Jude Law. The Cold Mountain co-stars are reportedly in love and their alleged affair is said to have caused irreconcilable damage to his marriage to British fashion designer Sadie Frost. Kidman arrived in Law's home city of London Monday to attend the premiere of her Oscar-tipped film The Hours and begged reporters to respect the privacy of the troubled couple. When quizzed about the affair she said, "No we're not. It's not true. I think we need to respect their privacy. It's not for me to comment."
Law and Frost Beg For Privacy

Troubled pair Jude Law and Sadie Frost have released a statement rubbishing reports they are splitting and begging for privacy so they can patch up their relationship. Speculation has been rife that Law is intent on leaving 34-year-old Frost, after allegedly becoming very close to Nicole Kidman on the set of Cold Mountain. Law admits the pair have gone through a "difficult time over the past few weeks," but maintains their immediate plans are "to put their lives in order." He continues, "While we truly appreciate the concern the media has shown towards us, we ask that you now please give us the privacy we eagerly need. If and when there is any news to report to you, we will make a statement in as timely a manner as possible. Many thanks for your understanding." Law spent Monday at his grandmother's funeral. His publicist Simon Halls says, "The family is going through a tough time. This has been compounded by the fact that Jude's grandmother has just passed away. He was extremely close to her. She flew over to the opening of his first Broadway play." And Halls stresses that talk of separation is just speculation. He says, "To suggest that they are going to split up for good is extremely premature." Frost's mother Mary Davidson adds, "Any talk about divorce is rubbish. They are still trying to work things out."
Ledger and Watts Back On

Hunky Australian screen star Heath Ledger is back in the arms of older partner Naomi Watts. It was reported last week that the pair had split due to Ledger's concern that he didn't want to settle down at the tender age of 23. However, 34-year-old Watts was spotted in a number of intimate clinches with the youthful A Knight's Tale star at a Hollywood restaurant on Sunday. A source at Nobu Next Door says, "At the end of the meal they just started mashing together. In the middle of the room! It was very heated and Heath finally paid the bill so they could continue out on the street."
Madonna Goes to War with President Bush

Pop superstar Madonna has gone full steam ahead with what has been dubbed as the "most shocking" anti-war statement in showbiz. The Material Girl is currently in Los Angeles, California, filming a music video which takes a strong stance against America's imminent war with Iraq - as well as slamming the nation's president George W. Bush. American journalist Matt Drudge reports that sources say, "It could be the most shocking anti-war, anti-Bush statement yet to come from show business. She's taking it all the way this time - pushing all of the buttons. It's a sweeping commentary on the modern 'American dream', and how nothing is as it seems." In the video, the Music singer is said to be wearing military fatigues and throwing grenades as an electronic beat pounds away. The video will be part of her upcoming album American Life. A source says, "'American Life' is about freedom of speech. It examines not only war, greed and ego, but it's self-reflective also. Madonna rejects her Material Girl image once and for all and warns of life in a material world."
Networks Snub Jackson Tape

TV networks have blasted Michael Jackson's attempt to have his own say after last week's controversial documentary - insisting his personal video is "clumsy and desperate." The Thriller hitmaker was left furious by the transatlantic screenings of Martin Bashir's show Living With Michael Jackson - accusing the British journalist of "betraying him" and branding the show "a gross distortion of the truth and a tawdry attempt to misrepresent his life." But Jackson's attempts to release his own video tape - filmed at the same time as Bashir's documentary - have fallen at the first hurdle. TV executives say Jackson's five-minute tape - in which he claims Bashir told him he was a good dad who treated children well - is poorly put together and proves nothing. British network Granada who made Bashir's show, dismissed the flick as "clumsy and desperate" and all American stations have refused to screen the video. One TV boss told the New York Daily News, "It wouldn't prove very much."
Whitney Snubs Dad's Funeral

Troubled soul diva Whitney Houston snubbed her father's funeral in New Jersey on Friday because she wanted to "grieve privately." The singer's spokeswoman Nancy Seltzer confirmed that Whitney and husband Bobby Brown stayed away from the service at the St James Church in Newark. John Houston, 82, who died last week had been suing his daughter for $100 million at the time of his death, claiming that she owned him for management fees that she never paid.
Lopez Behind Affleck's Assistant Firing?
Jennifer Lopez has reportedly fired another of fiance Ben Affleck's personal assistants - because she was female. J.Lo apparently objected to Odessa Whitmire's employment last year, so she left Affleck's service to get engaged to his best friend and Good Will Hunting co-star Matt Damon. However, Annelise Levy, who was living in the Daredevil star's Los Angeles mansion, has suffered the same fate - because, according to sources quoted on the Page Six website, "she's a woman." But Affleck's representative has claimed Levy actually "left on her own terms to work for Naomi Watts."
