Charlie Kaufman and Catherine Keener Are Developing a Series for HBO

1 hour ago | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Deadline reports that frequent teammates Catherine Keener and Charlie Kaufman are developing a half-hour comedy series for HBO. The premise of the as-yet-untitled project sounds appropriately Kaufmanesque: "An exploration of one day in a woman’s life and how the events leading up to it can affect, or not, the reality in which she lives." Keener is set to star and produce, with Kaufman acting as executive producer, writer, and director. The show, which has been fast-tracked by the network, will mark two-time Oscar nominee Keener's first foray into television. It makes sense that it'll happen on HBO, which has gone on a female-driven comedy kick recently, renewing Enlightened — starring another Academy Award nominee, Laura Dern — and debuting Veep and Girls. »

Men in Black 3: Film Review

2 hours ago | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

Finding smart ways to bring novelty to the franchise without forsaking what made the original so much fun (and in fact doubling down on some of those qualities), Barry Sonnenfeld's third Men in Black easily erases the second installment's vague but unpleasant memory and (though we might hope producers will quit while they're ahead) paves the way for future installments. It's hard to imagine it won't be a hit, and hard to begrudge that success, no matter how saturated we are with comic-book properties, sequels and comic-book sequels. The script, credited solely to Etan Cohen despite many rumored

'Dancing With the Stars' Heads to Finale With Tight Scores and One Exceptional Freestyle

The freestyle is make it or break it on a Dancing With the Stars finale. Since the awarded points are almost always even during the last round of competition, it takes a watercooler-worthy performance to lock in the vital votes. New Dark Knight Rises Poster Revealed

Hmmm...why does this look familiar? Oh, that's right, because this new Dark Knight Rises poster is almost identicial to the first teaser promo we saw in July, except with an inclusion of Batman and some fire to heat things up (no pun intended). But that doesn't mean we're disappointed. Although we would have loved to see something totally different, this poster still gets us excited for the flick's release and provides a cool action shot for the eyes. Practically all of Gotham City is on fire, you guys. Plus, now that Batman's in the picture (literally), we wonder what perspective we're looking from. Album Review: John Mayer's 'Born and Raised' rears its graceful head

That sound you hear on John Mayer’s “Born and Raised” is an artist entering a new phase of his career, and, more importantly, his life. The highly personal set, out Tuesday, May 22, is a stripped-down collection of tunes, mainly recorded as a four-piece, that has plenty to say, but is in absolutely no rush to make its point. Whether it’s that life slapped Mayer around a bit lately after opening his mouth a few too many times about his love life, his having to deal with ongoing vocal issues, or producer Don Was’s relaxed approach —most likely a combo of »
