With 3.3 million total viewers and a 1.1 rating, the ABC sitcom’s first Friday episode was up 11 percent and two tenths week-to-week, while its second half-hour (2.7 mil/1.0) saw gains of 18 and 43 percent.

Undercover Boss opened CBS’ night with a time slot-dominating 8.5 mil and 1.6, but the older-skewing Vegas only retained 7.6 mil/0.9 of that in its Friday premiere, »

5 April 2013 6:00 PM, PDT

Warning: If you’ve yet to watch Friday’s Nikita, avert your eyes now. Everyone else, read on…

Everything changed on Nikita this Friday, when Alex — who has seemed a little off since being kidnapped by Amanda, no? — took the matter of “freeing” Division into her own hands.

What exactly that meant wasn’t entirely clear at first, only that someone (ahem, Alex) was forming a mutiny of sorts among the non-inner-circle agents in hopes of putting an end to the underground organization that had been (unintentionally) taking innocent lives.

Alex, however, was unable to keep her secret from Ryan, »

And when he does? “It is not going to be pretty.”

American Idol: What Should the Top 6 Sing for Bacharach-David/'Free' Choice Week?

5 April 2013 12:24 PM, PDT

We asked for fresh, modern music on Season 12 of American Idol, and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has responded with…the Burt Bacharach/ Hal David Songbook!

[Insert Sound of Crickets Here]

Ah well, at least the second theme for Top 6 Week — during which the contestants will each cover two songs apiece — is “The Song I Wish I’d Written.” That should yield some recent, not-done-to-death, edgy and/or unexpected material, as long as there’s not some heinous fine print that turns it into ”The Song I Wish I’d Written (From the List of 11 Songs That Uncle Nigel Bothered to Clear).”
