Featurettes for Game Of Thrones Season Premiere Plus TV Spot for the Next Episode

6 April 2013 5:00 AM, PDT

What a great sci-fi TV weekend we had last weekend! Fortunately most of it continues on this week, starting with Grimm last night, continuing on to Doctor Who, Orphan Black, and The Nerdist tonight, and of course the powerhouse Game of Thrones on Sunday. If you were a bit overwhelmed with last week’s season premiere episode, or are maybe having trouble remembering everything that happened, never fear, we’re here to help.

We have recap, Inside the Episode, and Anatomy of a Scene featurettes to get you back on top and ready for the next episode, as well a TV spot for the next episode. And as a special treat, we have a featurette of many different musicians performing the theme song; it’s pretty cool. Enjoy!

Bid The Walking Dead a Temporary Farewell With Featurettes, Clips, and a Look Ahead

5 April 2013 4:00 PM, PDT

Okay, I’ll just come right out and say it. Wow, Season 3 of The Walking Dead was so much better than Season 2! And the second half of Season 3 was the best half. Here’s hoping that the trend continues when the series returns for its fourth season in October.

For now, however, let’s take some time to appreciate all that was the Season 3 Finale. We have the last of the weekly featurettes; an Inside the Episode, with the actors and producers discussing the characters’ motivations, a Making Of the Episode that reveals all that went into the very excellent prison assault scene, plus a bonus Making Of featurette that shows the technical aspects of shooting Andrea’s final scene; we even learn a new term, “dutching” the camera. See, fun and educational!

The Talked About Scene clip is of course Andrea’s and Milton’s. We have the highlights »

Will Arnett Signs on to Ninja Turtles

5 April 2013 11:00 AM, PDT

We reported a couple of weeks ago that Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), Jeremy Howard (Donatello) and Noel Fisher (Michaelangelo) had been cast as the turtles in the Michael Bay production, Ninja Turtles. These young men join previously cast Megan Fox.

I’m excited to hear that comedic genius Will Arnett will be joining the group and everyone is being very tight-lipped about the role he will play. If this reboot is to feature characters from the original series then there are a few possibilities that still remain on the table for ones we’re familiar with. One possibility is Splinter, the turtles’ sensei rat and another is the villain, Shredder. THR is confident is reporting that Will Arnett will not be playing Casey.

We will keep you posted on the latest for Ninja Turtles.

Behold the New Trailer for the Carrie Remake

5 April 2013 9:00 AM, PDT

This new trailer for the adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Carrie looks like it has real potential, and this is coming from someone who loved loved loved the book and the 1976 movie with Sissy Spacek. Yes, I know remakes have been made since then and none have impressed me like this trailer has.

Chloë Moretz (Kick Ass, Dark Shadows) really looks like she’s going to tackle the amazing role of Carrie and is going to do it complete justice, though I think she is already being out-shined by Julianne Moore (Hannibal, Magnolia) who is playing Margaret White, Carrie’s mother.  Wow, she’s really bringing the crazy to the party, as well she should be.

Check out this awesome trailer!

Trailer for The Purge Shows us a World Where Violence and Crime are Acceptable for 12 Hours

5 April 2013 7:00 AM, PDT

The Purge takes place in the not-so-distant future where crime of any kind is acceptable for 12 hours. Ethan Hawke (Gattica), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Adelaide Kane (Power Rangers R.P.M.), and Max Burkholde (Brothers & Sisters) star in the movie where a family is attacked during this 12 hour period.

Synopsis:

If on one night every year, you could commit any crime without facing consequences, what would you do? In The Purge, a speculative thriller that follows one family over the course of a single night, four people will be tested to see how far they will go to protect themselves when the vicious outside world breaks into their home.

In an America wracked by crime and overcrowded prisons, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity—including murder—becomes legal. The police can’t be called. Hospitals suspend help. It’s one night when »

The Grimm Cast Dishes on Tonight’s New Episode

5 April 2013 5:00 AM, PDT

Is it my imagination or is Grimm just getting better and better? And this week looks like it will be keeping up the trend. Check out these actors’ thoughts on tonight’s new episode, “One Angry Fuchsbau,” followed by a clip. As for the episode title, “Twelve Angry Men” is a famous play and movie about jury deliberations back when there were rarely women on the jury. Women are of course more common on juries nowadays, but how about Fuchsbau like Rosalee? Check it out:

We will keep you posted on the latest for Interstellar.

China Release News, International Poster and New TV Spot for Iron Man 3

4 April 2013 3:00 PM, PDT

Turns out when the DVD/Blu-ray release of Iron Man 3 hits the stores, you may want to consider buying it twice. Once in the Us version and once in the Chinese version which will have more footage and an appearance by Fan Bingbing (X-Men: Days of Future Past).

According to the press release, the additional footage was “made exclusively for the Chinese audience.” So, super fans will need to find a way to grab both copies and get some side by side comparisons. No news on when or if the Chinese version will be distributed here in the Us. Here’s that press release, via Deadline:

Marvel Studios and Dmg announced that a Chinese version of Iron Man 3 will be released in China on a date to be announced in the near future. Dmg, a Chinese media and entertainment company, collaborated with Marvel Studios on the Chinese elements in the film, »

Once Upon a Time Wonderland Spinoff Gets Red Queen and a New and Better Title

4 April 2013 1:00 PM, PDT

Last week we got you up to speed on the available information for the Once Upon a Time Alice in Wonderland spinoff, which was then titled Once: Wonderland. Happily, that rather inartful title has been changed to the lovely and even-more-fairy-tale-ish Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

In addition, the part of the Red Queen has been cast, and please note: it’s the Red Queen, from Through the Looking Glass (yes, Losties, I know), not the Queen of Hearts, from Alice in Wonderland. Deadline reports that young Brit Emma Rigby (Ripper Street) will be playing the part. As we reported, she will be joining Sophie Lowe as Alice, Peter Gadiot as her mysterious love interest Cyrus, and Michael Socha as the Knave of Hearts.

The Red Queen is rather nasty in the book, but not everything or everyone is quite the same in Once Upon a Time as he »

Guess Which Guests Promote to Semi Permanent for The Walking Dead Season 4

4 April 2013 7:00 AM, PDT

With the understanding that some of our beloved readers may not have had time to watch Sunday’s Season 3 finale of The Walking Dead, you’ll note that no names or faces graced the headline or top photo. Not knowing who might die is part of the fun horror of The Walking Dead. Proceed no further until you’ve seen that season finale.

Okay, now – wasn’t that great? I loved what Norman Reedus said about the writers, that they like to change things up so that every finale is different. We weren’t left with any big cliffhangers at the end of Season 3 like we were at the end of Season 2, but it was a nice change of pace that they didn’t. There was of course one major death from Our Gang, which, when added to the other two (or three, if you include Merle) we lost earlier, »

This Redband Trailer for This Is The End Double Dog Dares You Not to Laugh

3 April 2013 3:00 PM, PDT

Oh. Man. This trailer for This is the End is so stinking hilarious and so stinking Not Safe For Work (and blindfold/earmuff the kids), but it’s too funny not to share. The cast list is huge (James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, Emma Watson, just to name a few) and they are all playing themselves facing what could be the end of the world.

Graphic violence and adult language ahead.

New Falling Skies Season 3 Extended Trailer Gives Glimpses of What’s to Come

3 April 2013 11:00 AM, PDT

If you’ve never seen Falling Skies and are wondering what it’s about, here’s a trailer to pique your interest. The first 30 seconds or so is “before the invasion” footage, though little if any time has been spent on that in the actual series. It does, however, set the stage for what comes next.

The show isn’t always as somber as the music might suggest, but it also isn’t mostly explosions, as the video might suggest. It’s somewhere in between. The intensity and action were both stepped up in Season 2, which makes up the majority of the video included here. Oh, and for you veteran fans, watch closely and you’ll see new footage interspersed throughout, most notably near the end.

3 April 2013 7:00 AM, PDT

Table reading has begun for the Doctor Who: 50th Anniversary Episode which we reported on Monday would feature David Tennant and Billie Piper alongside current Doctor Matt Smith and companion Jenna Louise Coleman. And here’s the epic proof.

And that on the left is Joanna Page (Love Actually) who will also be joining the cast with John Hurt (Alien, Harry Potter) which we also reported on Monday. As far as monster villains go, according to the BBC, we will have a horrific looking shape shifter that has only made one physical appearance and one verbal mention. I present the Zygons.

So. Pretty. I can’t wait.
