The Odd Life of Timothy Green Review
5 April 2013 11:36 AM, PDT
Cindy (Jennifer Garner) and Jim (Joel Edgerton) are desperate to be parents. However, when they’re told by their doctor that this won’t happen naturally, they decide to indulge their dreams one final time by burying a box in their back garden filled with all the personality traits their ideal child would bear – kind, honest to a fault and musical, to name a few. Overnight, a magical storm occurs and Timothy (Cj Adams), a young boy with leaves on his ankles, is thrust into Cindy and Jim’s life.
Dreamt up by actor Ahmet Zappa and written and directed by Peter Hedges, The Odd Life of Timothy Green immediately asks you to suspend your deepest beliefs and simply accept its desire to be a warm-hearted family-orientated fable. This would be possible if everything about its mere concept, let alone its scorched execution, wasn’t so downright disturbing. It’s »

The First Clip from Iron Man 3 – ‘Holiday Greeting’
5 April 2013 9:33 AM, PDT
Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 is just weeks away from hitting the big screen, and the anticipation is naturally on high for the first film in Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Picking things up where Joss Whedon’s The Avengers left off last summer, Robert Downey, Jr. is front and centre once more as Tony Stark / Iron Man, and we can’t wait to see what he and Black bring to the table here.
With only a few more weeks to wait, the first clip has debuted over at Yahoo Movies, following up nicely from the latest TV spot we saw earlier in the week.
Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. »

New IMAX Poster for Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion with Tom Cruise
5 April 2013 9:00 AM, PDT
Joseph Kosinski’s anticipated sci-fi/action blockbuster, Oblivion, is less than a week away from hitting our shores, and I’m really looking forward to seeing Kosinski return behind the camera after his awesome 2010 debut, Tron: Legacy.
Tom Cruise is front and centre here for Kosinski, and I have a feeling this is going to be very big at the box office on both sides of the Atlantic in the coming weeks.
We’ve recently been treated to a brilliant new IMAX featurette, along with now being able to stream the entire Oblivion score by M83. And with its release imminent, a new IMAX poster has surfaced online.
On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.
Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. »

The HeyUGuys Interview: George Isaac and Pierre Mascolo talk All Things To All Men
5 April 2013 8:00 AM, PDT
Having produced both Kidulthood and Adulthood together, producers George Isaac and Pierre Mascolo have collaborated once more for All Things To All Men, except this time around Isaac steps into the director’s chair for the very first time.
Isaac – who wrote the screenplay too – also had the pleasure of directing his close colleague, as Mascolo takes on a role in the film as Mark Corso – the wayward son of gangster Joseph (Gabriel Byrne). The pair talk about their experience working on this film, and for Isaac what it is like finally directing his first feature length movie. They also talk about their portrayal of London within the film, and how they went about shooting car chases on location…
All Things to All Met is out in UK cinema today. You can see our coverage of the movie including our review here.

Justin Lin won’t direct Fast and Furious 7, Universal aiming for 2014 Release
5 April 2013 7:00 AM, PDT
After helming the last four films in the franchise, including next month’s highly anticipated Fast and Furious 6, Justin Lin has decided to opt out of directing the next instalment in the franchise, Fast and Furious 7.
THR report that the director informed studios late on Wednesday night that he wouldn’t be coming back to helm the seventh instalment, with Vin Diesel saying last month that the sequel is set to film back in Los Angeles this summer.
The studio are reportedly keen to get the next sequel in cinemas for Summer 2014. And Lin felt he wouldn’t have enough time to work on both Fast and Furious 6 in the coming weeks, whilst prepping for Fast and Furious 7 at the same time, believing the overlap wouldn’t result in his best work.
The exit is clearly not a result of any clashes – in creativity or otherwise – but rather a simple issue over time. »

New Motion Poster for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2
5 April 2013 6:00 AM, PDT
Following up from the blockbuster success of 2009 original, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is quickly shaping up to be one of the best animated movies of the year.
The first trailer and poster were released back in February, giving us a brilliant first look at the film. And that’s been followed this week by the first featurette, giving us another great taste of what to expect towards the end of this year.
And adding to all of that, Sony have debuted a new motion poster, taking the first poster we saw and making the food-animals move.
When inventor Flint Lockwood discovers that his most infamous machine – the Fldsmdfr – is still operating and is now creating giant mutant food beasts that threaten to destroy civilization, he knows he’s the only one who can stop it. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Flint and his friends »

The HeyUGuys Interview: Mc Harvey Talks All Things to All Men
5 April 2013 5:00 AM, PDT
Mc Harvey is what you would call a Jack of all trades, as the former rapper – famed for his work with So Solid Crew – has since turned his head to acting, and following a role in The Big I Am, he returns in George Isaac’s All Things to All Men – and we discussed his role in the movie ahead of its forthcoming release.
Playing the part of criminal Curtis Carter, Mc Harvey – whose real name is Michael Harvey – discusses playing a role that feels somewhat close to home, with the films predominant setting taking place in the same area of London the actor was born. He also discusses his own future, as well as telling us where he feels his heart lies – as a performer who has formed careers for himself in music, acting and even professional football.

Top 10 Must-See Movies of April 2013
5 April 2013 4:00 AM, PDT
April 2013 promises to be a big month at the box office. Not quite as big as May, I think, but we have a slew of awesome movies coming out this month. March has just closed out with a very impressive performance from G.I. Joe: Retaliation around the world, following the release of Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful at the start of the month. And so as April begins, here’s a run-down of the top 10 must-see movies of the month.
Evil Dead – April 5th (Us), 19th April (UK)
Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead has been garnering substantial critical acclaim in recent weeks, since its debut at SXSW last month. It’s not often that we see a horror movie get the favour of critics, and even less often when it’s a remake.
But it looks as though Alvarez has beaten the odds, and I’ve got a »

New Poster for Fast and Furious 6
5 April 2013 3:30 AM, PDT
Fast and Furious 6 is undeniably my most anticipated movie of next month*, beating out strong competition from the likes of Star Trek Into Darkness and The Hangover Part III.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return to the fold for the next instalment in the franchise, following its brilliant reenergised form in recent years with Fast and Furious and Fast Five.
The first full-length trailer debuted back in February, coming just after Universal launched it at one of the biggest sporting events of the year with a Super Bowl TV Spot. And now franchise-returner Michelle Rodriguez has debuted the latest poster for the film.
Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson »

New Trailer and Quad Poster for The Iceman with Michael Shannon
5 April 2013 2:15 AM, PDT
Michael Shannon has been very much on the rise in recent years, earning an Oscar nomination for Sam Mendes’ Revolutionary Road, winning a slew of awards for his leading role in Jeff Nichols’ Take Shelter, and starring alongside Steve Buscemi in HBO’s acclaimed Boardwalk Empire. He has two major films arriving in theatres this summer, The Iceman and Man of Steel, and we can’t wait to see him in either.
Ariel Vromen’s The Iceman will be first out the gate, opening in the Us early next month and in the UK over the first weekend in June. We saw a great new trailer land earlier in the year, and now Lionsgate have debuted a new UK trailer and quad poster, giving us still more to look forward to here.
Inspired by actual events, The Iceman follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski (Academy Award® nominee Michael Shannon) from »

The Expatriate Review
5 April 2013 1:30 AM, PDT
Philipp Stölzl’s The Expatriate is not the first film in recent months to present a story of a father and child let loose in a European city, doing all that is necessary to defeat the evil forces fighting against them. However, unlike Taken 2 and A Good Day to Die Hard, The Expatriate feels somewhat more genuine, with a clear attempt to tell a clever story and not fully reliant on the already established franchise, with the job of winning over audiences rather than simply trading on past glories.
Having moved from America to Belgium, ex-cia agent Ben Logan (Aaron Eckhart) and his teenage daughter Amy (Liana Liberato) find themselves in a spot of bother when the former travels into work one day only to find his entire company doesn’t exist – and no record of his own existence can be traced. Any initial confusion soon turns to fear and trepidation, »

The HeyUGuys Interview: Rufus Sewell Talks All Things To All Men
5 April 2013 1:00 AM, PDT
This may come as a surprise to you – but the much celebrated actor Rufus Sewell has not had a major screen role in a British movie since 1996 – but as we speak to Sewell ahead of his latest feature All Things To All Men, we learn that it certainly isn’t for the lack of trying – as he simply wasn’t being offered the roles he desired.
However he now plays a role he claims to have yearned for – that of corrupt detective Parker, in George Isaac’s debut feature film, which hits our screens on Friday 5th April. In the meantime, Sewell also talks of his current work on stage in Old Times, as well as discussing his upcoming role in the eagerly anticipated Hercules: The Thracian Wars, where he stars opposite a certain Dwayne Johnson.

First Full-Length Trailer for Carrie
4 April 2013 4:52 PM, PDT
Chloë Grace Moretz is front and centre of the new Carrie remake, due out just in time for Halloween in the Us, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table for the horror film.
The anticipated horror remake sees Moretz take the titular lead as Carrie White. And after catching a brilliant first teaser trailer late last year, Sony have debuted the first full-length trailer, and it gives us an awesome taste of the horrors to come.
A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
Moretz is joined by a terrific ensemble, »

Roger Ebert: The Passing of an Icon (1942-2013)
4 April 2013 2:32 PM, PDT
When I was a kid, I knew quite early on that I loved movies. From the first time I sat in a darkened theater and watched other worlds materialize before me, I knew that I would do anything I could to be closer to them. I knew I didn’t have the chops to write screenplays because I lacked the depth of imagination to create a cohesive story. I knew I couldn’t act because I wasn’t leading man material. I knew I couldn’t direct because I’m not a savvy manager. Then it hit me – I just like to talk about movies. Though at that age, I didn’t think there was ever a job that would pay anybody to just simply talk about movies.
It wasn’t until one lazy Saturday afternoon, where I was stuck in the house flipping through the channels on TV that »

First Featurette for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 – Terry Crews is a Man of Science
4 April 2013 9:00 AM, PDT
Sony Pictures Animation’s anticipated sequel, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, arrives in theatres later this year, and we’re definitely looking forward to its return.
The 2009 original film took just shy of a quarter of a billion dollars for the studio, launching the feature careers of then-debut directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Lord and Miller have since gone on to direct last year’s 21 Jump Street and next year’s anticipated Lego movie. And so the studio have handed the reigns to new debut directors, Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn, with Lord and Miller serving as executive producers.
We saw the first trailer and poster debut earlier in the year. And now Sony Animation have released the first featurette for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, with the ever-brilliant Terry Crews giving us an inside look.
