WonderCon 2013: Molly Quinn On Supergirl In ‘Superman: Unbound’
6 hours ago
Superman may have been flooded with a variety of villains over the years, but through time he also gained a number of valuable allies. Easily one of the strongest of the group happened to be another Kryptonian like himself, Supergirl. We’ve seen various animated incarnations of her and will be seeing the latest one in “Superman: Unbound.” The Kryptonian duo will have their hands full as they go up against Brainiac. Actress Molly Quinn is voicing the super heroine in the new animated feature and shares her thoughts on how much fun it was voicing Kara Zor-El. As you thought about Supergirl, what was the key to how you wanted to play her? Molly Quinn: I wanted to make sure that she was strong and that, even when she argued and had her little moments of teenaged angst, she knew, deep down inside, what she was going to do. »

Hugh Jackman has been playing the role of Wolverine for a long time. X-Men: Days of Future Past will mark the 7th time Jackman has played the character (including the cameo in X-Men: First Class).
Jackman first heard about the project last year during filming for The Wolverine. Jackman said:
I must admit I was starting to see a life free of steamed chicken breasts. They told me the idea and, at the time, it was Matthew Vaughn [directing]. Instantly, I knew it was a winner. It just felt like everything was coming full circle. However, I must admit my stomach and my mind were like, ‘Oh no.’
Jackman says that he has been given the full Days of Future Past script and that “It’s really really fantastic”.

Bradley Cooper To The Rescue! Will Play Villain In ‘Jane Got A Gun’
15 hours ago
Deadline says that Bradley Cooper will play the villain role in the revenge western: Jane Got A Gun, starring Natalie Portman.
The movie is about a woman (Portman) who reaches out to an ex-lover (Joel Edgerton) for help in defending her wounded husband at their farm from a villainous gang leader (Cooper) come to finish the husband off.
The film has had a few major setbacks. Director Gavin O’Connor (Miracle, Warrior) is directing after the original director Lynne Ramsay (We Need To Talk About Kevin) didn’t show up to the first day of filming. Ramsay apparently left the project due to creative and contract issues.
Joel Edgerton, who now plays the ex-lover was originally supposed to play the villainous gang leader. He switched over when Michael Fassbender dropped out. Fassbender was supposed to play the ex-lover originally. The movie then picked up Jude Law to play the villain, »

Exclusive: The Top Three Contenders Being Considered To Direct ‘Fast & Furious 7′
20 hours ago
Good morning cool kids! How is your weekend so far?
This past Thursday, Borys Kit over at Hollywood Reporter dropped the news that Justin Lin isn’t coming back to direct Fast & Furious 7. Universal wants to put the film out during Summer 2014 which means that Lin would have to prep that film now while being in post on Fast & Furious 6. Having directed the last four movies in the franchise back to back and most likely feeling the effects of franchise exhaustion, Justin Lin decided to bow out. The trade also stated that Universal is searching for another director, with a decision expected as early as next week.
Being a night owl pays off because I got word late last night and found out who the top three contenders are for the gig.
Drumroll please…
According to sources, they are…

Having directed Kick Ass 2 for Universal, the studio must »

Comic Book Movie and Twitter User @AsiaNemesi teamed up to transcribe an interview that Kevin Feige, President of Production at Marvel Studios had with Italian magazine Best Movie.
In response to being asked which Superhero he would most like to see onscreen, Feige said:
Dr. Strange! I love the aura of mystery that surrounds this superhero and the magical world that surrounds him. We’ve never faced anything like this and there is a lot of material that we could exploit. I would love to also see a new superhero in the ranks of the Avengers. We shall see!
A lot of the info is what we already know about Phase 3: Ant-Man and Doctor Strange.
However, it does bring to the forefront an interesting question for fans of the comics/and or films:
Which new Avenger (s) would you like to see added in future installments?

Deadline reports that Godzilla has added Golden Globe-winner Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky) to play a scientist.
She joins a cast that includes Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche and David Strathairn + cameo by Akira Takarada.
Hawkins will be seen next in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine and in Phil Morrison’s Almost Christmas.
Godzilla hits theaters in 3D, May 16, 2014.
I mostly just want to see Cranston in the film. Cranston and Watanabe are the most exciting actors attached to the film, though the addition of Sally Hawkins is easily third.

Zimmer Discusses Scoring “Man of Steel”
5 April 2013 10:19 AM, PDT
It is the music of a film that enhances cinematic pleasure and as it is often said, it cannot be the bandage which holds together a film that will likely break apart. With “Man of Steel” on the verge of completion fans have seen the visual, but have yet to hear the audio counterpart.
With famed composer Hans Zimmer at the helm of the music, how will he differentiate his work from legend John Williams? “Look, that was daunting,” he said. “Seriously. He’s the greatest film composer out there, without a doubt, and it happens to be one of his iconic pieces of music, so I spent three months just procrastinating and not even getting a start on the thing, because I was so intimidated: ‘Oh my God, I’m following in John Williams’ footsteps.” The most famous of Williams’ pieces are not just restricted to the first Superman movie, »

Film Review: Evil Dead
5 April 2013 6:46 AM, PDT
How do legitimate horror films hope to exist in a post-Cabin in the Woods world? The genre has been so thoroughly deconstructed that the signifiers have now become a joke of a joke of a joke. Don’t go up the stairs, don’t have sex, don’t answer the phone – all of it is old hat that’s stale in the mind of even the most casual horror fans.
I would imagine the basic idea behind the remake of Evil Dead is to quite simply start from the beginning. Take an influential movie that started it all and don’t just rehash it, but thoroughly intensify everything that made it unique to begin with. Introduce these tropes in a way that amps everything up to 100. If characters in horror movies do dumb things, have the characters in this do the dumbest things; if there’s supposed to be a »

Film Review: Jurassic Park 3D
5 April 2013 6:42 AM, PDT
I think the only thing to be said about Jurassic Park now, 20 years after its release, is that it is as good as it was back then and that it still works on every possible level. It still scares you, it still thrills you, and it still makes you look on in awe. It’s the definition of a modern classic gradually turning into one of the all-time untouchables – those movies so good that we take for granted all that they have contributed to the spectacle of popular cinema and our lives as movie watchers.
Its ability to illicit simultaneous childlike fear and wonder is perhaps matched only by Steven Spielberg’s similarly classic 1975 film, Jaws. It’s no wonder then that Spielberg admitted to Richard Schickel in his book, “Spielberg: A Retrospective,” that he “had no embarrassment in saying that with Jurassic Park I was really trying to make a good sequel to Jaws. »
