Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to Pen Uncharted: Drake's Fortune?

Latino Review is reporting that Kyle Ward will not be writing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for Sony. The script is going to be based on the hugely popular PlayStation 3 game.

Apparently, Ward's work on Hitman 2 is preventing him from getting Sony a script sooner.

It is looking like the studio is going to hire Conan screenwriters Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to write the screenplay.

While this deal has yet to be finalized, Latino Review is certain that it will be announced in the trade publications shortly.

Paradox Entertainment Will Reboot Kull the Conqueror

In a story from Fantasy.fr, Paradox Entertainment is presently working on a reboot of the 1997 film Kull The Conqueror.

Kull The Conqueror was helmed by John Nicolella and Kevin Sorbo played the title role.

Kull first appeared in Weird Tales magazine in 1929 from creator Robert Ervin Howard. Howard also used Kull as a template for when he created the character of Conan.

A native of Atlantis, Kull came of age with his family in Tiger Valley until a flood wiped out his clan out. He is brought up by another clan, "but he stands up for a woman destined to burn alive and ends up banned from Atlantis. He sails for the continent and take up the mercenary way. He'll become king, just as Conan will do thousands of years later. Under his influence, Valusia ends up as the most powerful kingdom of the time."

Joel Kastelberg and Etchie Stroh Will Produce The Howling: Reborn

Variety reports that The Howling franchise is going to be relaunched by producers Joel Kastelberg and Moonstone Entertainment's Etchie Stroh.

The title for this new project will be The Howling: Reborn. Directing and writing will be Joe Nimzik. The film will begin shooting this February for a release during Halloween.

Presently, there are no plot details for this project.

Joe Dante directed the original Howling in 1981. Six sequels followed. The plot of the first film saw Dee Wallace-Stone as a news anchor that gets stalked by a serial killer who is actually a werewolf.

Joshua Jackson Spots UFO

In a story from Variety, Joshua Jackson (Fringe) is going to star in UFO.

This movie is going to be a feature film version of the British television series that is going to be directed by visual effects guru Matthew Gratzner (Iron Man).

Jackson will play Paul Foster. He is a test pilot who joins up with S.H.A.D.O. (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defense Organization), "a covert org built under a Hollywood studio that defends Earth against a race of aliens who have been abducting humans and using the body parts."

The TV series was very popular in the 1970s.

"Character development is the most critical part of UFO, and Joshua's terrific talent and range is exactly what I need to convey the inner conflict of the character of Paul Foster," Gratzner stated.

The Walt Disney Company to Make High School Musical: China

The Walt Disney Company has announced that Disney Studios has started production on a Chinese version of High School Musical for release in theaters in summer 2010:

The Walt Disney Company in China today announced the start of production on its third local co-production project in just two years, Disney High School Musical: China. Working with local partners Shanghai Media Group (Smg) and Huayi Brothers Media Corporation, the movie is planned for cinematic release in summer 2010.

Courteney Cox Stops Production of Cougar Town

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Production on ABC's Cougar Town was halted late last week to accommodate the schedule of star Courteney Cox.

ABC confirmed that production had been halted saying, in a statement, that it was happening "in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter."

Cougar Town, which was picked up for a full season, was scheduled to stop shooting this week in order to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Presently, there is no word on when the production of this show will start back up.

7 Bulls Injure 2 People on the Set of Knight & Day

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, seven bulls that were being used on the set of the Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz film Knight & Day broke free and injured two people in Spain.

Cruise and Diaz were not at the rehearsal Sunday. The actors are supposed to arrive in the city of Cadiz in southwest Spain next weekend.

The "two unidentified women were slightly injured by the bulls as they broke free from the downtown location and ran through streets to a nearby beach." Director Jose Luis Escolar told the press that he wasn't sure how the bulls got loose.

The movie was to start shooting in Cadiz on Monday, but local government spokesman Ignacio Romani says that filming has been temporarily put on hold.

Chris Weitz to Helm The Gardener

Variety reports that director Chris Weitz (The Twilight Saga: New Moon) will be directing The Gardener for Summit Entertainment.

Writing to the script will be Eric Eason (Manito). The film follows "a hard-working immigrant who lives in Los Angeles and his efforts to protect his son."

The director said the he plans to go into production in either March or April.

"There are no werewolves or vampires, just a Mexican gardener in Los Angeles," Weitz said about The Gardener.
