Twisted Pictures Wants You to Feel Sorrow
10 hours ago
Another comic-to-film adaptation is in the pipeline, this one from Twisted Pictures, the company most known for its Saw films. It's called Sorrow and is the brainchild of Rick Remender, Seth Peck, and Francesco Francavilla published by Image Comics.
You may recall that Twisted Pictures was in the news recently due to its efforts to acquire the rights to Texas Chainsaw Massacre and then prepare another remake ... in 3D. Nothing firm has been announced on that front yet, but Twisted is hardly sitting around twiddling its thumbs. According to Shock Till You Drop Twisted's Mark Burg and Oren Koules will produce Sorrow along with Erick Salomon, Chris Ridenhour, and Andrew Wilson. Michael Hidalgo is writing the script and had this to say about the project: ""Rick, Seth, and Francesco have created a throwback to '70s and '80s horror/thriller films with the perfect mix of terror and memorable characters. »

Twilight Saga: New Moon - Hear from Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner; Go Behind-the-Scenes
11 hours ago
It's less than two weeks until the premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon so of course to go along with today's press conference, the film's main stars popped up with some high profile interviews. We've already heard from four members of the Wolf Pack and Kristen Stewart; now it's time for Edward and Jacob themselves, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, to chime in with their $.02.
Again, Access Hollywood provides the goods. Like Kristen's, each is in two parts with topics ranging from *surprise* how Taylor bulked up for the role and why Jacob is better for Bella than Edward to how Rob's life changed (or maybe it didn't) in the time between Twilight and New Moon.
In addition, Collider has posted the 10 minutes of all new behind-the-scenes footage that was handed out during today's New Moon blow-out. In addition, Collider's Frosty got the word from director Chris Weitz that »

Corey Haim Back for Lost Boys 4
I know what you're thinking ... Lost Boys 4? We didn't even get Lost Boys 3 yet. Well, that hasn't stopped Warner Bros. from thinking a bit ahead.
MovieWeb spoke recently with both Coreys (who at least at the time of this writing have kissed and made up) and got the really early word that WB is looking to continue the franchise by making one Lost Boys film a year.
According to Haim his character of Sam Emerson will not be returning for Lost Boys 3: The Thirst but will indeed be back for Part 4 and he "will play a huge part in the storyline".
Haim also told the site "that there are certain stipulations in bringing his beloved character back to the small screen as he was personally unhappy with the direction the second film took. He will have some say over the character's personal arc this fourth time around."
Wow. He didn't like two? »

WWE Undertaker Origin Film Coming
Even if you're not a wrestling fan, the odds are pretty good that at the very least you've heard of the phenom known as the WWE's The Undertaker. Plain and simple ... he's a big scary man. A film about this character seems like a no-brainer, and WWE Films is apparently inclined to agree.
According to PWInsider the odds are pretty good that Taker will be gettin' a feature film to call his own. A Western origin story that takes place in the 1800s. Well, shit, that would make him older than Flair!
Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
No word yet if Kane (Undertaker's "little" bro in the WWE) or even his ex-manager Paul Bearer will be making an appearance, but we'll keep our ears to the ground.

Afm: The Howling Reborn? Yep. Indeed It Is.
We lost count of exactly how many sequels there were to the werewolf classic The Howling. The troubled series has seen marsupials, freakshows, and even big-breasted sibling werewolves. Just when you thought it was over, the franchise is reborn!
At this year's Afm (you know, the little event that has been dominating our headlines as of late) Moonstone Entertainment announced that writer/director Joe Nimziki is attached to The Howling Reborn. Nimziki's only film credit to date that we've been able to dig up is a 1997 episode of the re-imagined "The Outer Limits" television series.
Check out Shock Till You Drop for a look at the very familiar sales art, and relive the good old days with the trailer for the Joe Dante classic below!

Takashi Shimizu knows his stuff when it comes to making movies about really creepy ghosts that are pretty pissed off. In his latest film, The Shock Labyrinth, which was shot in 3D, he's taking his trademark pale spookers off of the screen and placing them right in your lap!
The early artwork for the flick showed up at this year's Afm, and you can dig on it below.
The Shock Labyrinth follows a group of teenagers dealing with the sudden return of a friend who went missing a decade ago. When the friend falls ill, they take her to a hospital but end up trapped in a labyrinthine haunted house.

Exclusive: Scream of the Banshee Casting News
20 hours ago
Around a week or so ago we reported that Automaton Transfusion director Steven C. Miller was readying a new project for After Dark Films called Scream of the Banshee. Today we learned exclusively about some pretty neat casting news.
A source close to the production who would like to remain anonymous (we always love how dramatic saying stuff like that sounds) has reported to us that both Lance Henriksen and Lauren Holly will have roles in the movie. We don't know whom the duo will be playing or how big their roles will be at this time, but there it is.

Updated: New Wolfman Posters
Rather than keeping with the extreme close-ups of Del Toro as the title creature, the latest one-sheet for The Wolfman remake takes a far more subtle approach by focusing on one of the film's other characters.
Our friends over at Cinematical scored the first look at the new artwork, which features star Emily Blunt hiding for all she's worth. I'm guessing we're gonna be seeing more of these character driven posters soon. They usually release things like this in sets.
Look for the film in theatres (Finally) on February 12th, 2010. Hit up the above link for the whole enchilada and a high-rez version of the new poster.
Synopsis
"Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his »

Hideo Nakata Hears the Voice from the Stone
6 November 2009 1:28 AM, PST
When Japanese director Hideo Nakata dropped The Ring on us several years ago, he basically introduced horror audiences to what would become to be known as J-Horror. Hundreds of films concerning little girls dressed in white with long black hair later, the man himself is ready to spin another ghostly tale.
Variety reports that Nakata has signed on to direct Zanuck Independent's supernatural thriller Voice from the Stone.
The film will be based on the Italian cult novel of the same name, and the story centers upon a female psychologist who takes on the case of a young boy who made a promise to his dying mother to remain silent until her spirit returns. The psychologist begins to realize that the boy's dead mother has manipulated her in order to take possession of her body so she can be reunited with her son. Mark Wheaton (The Messengers) penned the adaptation. »

Afm: Twilight Dad Engages in Some Shadow Play
6 November 2009 1:06 AM, PST
For my money Billy Burke as Bella's dad was the best thing in all of Twilight. Burke, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"'s Emma Caulfield, busty model/actress Kelly Brook (soon to be eaten alive in Piranha 3D), and film veteran Elliot Gould co-star in Shadow Play, a new thriller in the vein of Hitchcock and The Shining about a cleaning man whose sanity begins to unravel as he works to clean up a sprawling mansion.
"Shadow Play depicts the story of Cole Hindin, an over-worked and over-medicated cleaning service employee. He finds himself faced with the daunting task of single-handedly servicing a sprawling mansion over the course of a single night. He is plagued by horrific hallucinations, a culmination of many events. He witnessed a gruesome murder-suicide a year earlier, is badly bruised by memories of a failed marriage, and is strung out on a cocktail of prescription medication. With not nearly enough sleep, »
