'Warehouse 13' Star Joanne Kelly Loves 'Nerd Christmas'
They say that once you get two San Diego Comic-Cons in your blood, you become a pro. Now getting ready for her fifth one in just a few months, "Warehouse 13" star Joanne Kelly must be nothing short of an expert. In fact, Syfy's own Myka Bering has her own name for Comic-Con -- "Nerd Christmas." "I'm an old hat at Comic-Con now," Kelly recently told Playboy magazine as part of its "Femme on Fire: Women to Watch For" series. "I was so blown away the first time I was there. I was completely freaked out. It's a strange, amazing Wonderland." However, she was able to get some warning about what to expect thanks to her brother, who she described as a "huge comic book nerd." "He's actually my date to Comic-Con every year," she said. "He's now 35 and he just lights up like he's three again. »

Popular Star Trek guest star Tony Todd -- you know, Kurn from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" among other characters -- is currently doing a stint on CBS' popular soap opera "The Young and the Restless." But Todd isn't the only popular Star Trek face that has showed up on soap operas over the years. Take a look at some of the others who have shared their presence on daytime television's favorite pastime. Roxann Dawson - 'Star »

'The Host'

When it comes to movies based on Stephanie Meyer's books, I'm not expecting realism; after all, this is a teen-romance market, and I don't expect sophistication of narrative to be the primary concern. Having said that, I do expect a modicum of logic to the storyline. Say what you will about the Twilight franchise, and I personally am a fan because of the crazy melodrama rather than despite it, but it was a universe with its own wacky laws and for the most part it stuck to them. Should vampires sparkle in the sun? Probably not, but then again neither should they be endlessly unsleeping. However, that's what Meyer's vampires did, and they did it consistently. Likewise, the pack dynamics for the wolves and the idea of Jacob's attraction to Bella being based on his soon-to-be imprinting »
Barbara Hershey May Return For 'Once' Spinoff
4 April 2013 12:32 PM, PDT
It's nothing more than a pre-pilot preview at this point, but the producers behind the proposed "Once Upon a Time" spinoff "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" are putting together a fascinating cast, and already talking about doing more. That more could very much include Barbara Hershey, the late Cora in the hit ABC series, who spent time in Wonderland. According to TV Line, the new series -- if picked up by the network -- will explore the popular Alice in Wonderland environment both pre- and post-curse. "It will be very similar to 'Once' in that there will be flashbacks of these news characters that take us to pre-curse Wonderland," series co-creator Edward Kitsis said. But that also means a look at what has happened since, including the residency of Hershey, who played a key role »
Americans Still Love Their 'Doctor Who'
4 April 2013 12:30 PM, PDT
The return of "Doctor Who" did not mark a return back to America a la the mid-season finale, but the series started its Golden Anniversary year as still a favorite of Americans. More than 2 million viewers tuned in to see "The Bells of Saint John," the first episode that officially paired Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman as Doctor and companion. The series attracted nearly 1.5 million viewers older than 2, almost topping an all-time high for BBC America set with the Season 7 premiere late last year. On top of that, "Doctor Who" attracted 737,000 viewers for the advertising demographic of adults 25 to 54, second only to "The Snowmen" Christmas special, which had 807,000 of the same people on Christmas Day. That helped boost the premiere of a BBC America original show, "Orphan »
Famed Film Critic Roger Ebert Dies, 70
4 April 2013 11:51 AM, PDT
His thumb was more powerful than most people's words. And he had a Pulitzer prize to prove it. Roger Ebert, the fun, grey-haired master of the movie review, died Thursday after a battle with cancer. He was 70. Ebert was one half of the original "At the Movies," which later became "Siskel & Ebert & the Movies," was the must-watch syndicated show to find out which movies were worth the box office ticket, and which were destined to be forgotten. Even after the untimely death of partner Gene Siskel in 1999, Ebert continued on, later partnering with Richard Roeper. Ebert's system of judging movies was simple. If he liked it, thumbs up. If he hated it, thumbs down. Few movies would promote what critics thought if they didn't get thumbs up from Ebert and any of his partners. While he »
'Doctor Who' - The Bells Of Saint John
3 April 2013 9:33 AM, PDT
This review may contain spoilers. As Amy once said: This is where it gets complicated. To keep communication clear, let us define some terms: Jenna-Louise Coleman (Jlc) -- the actress playing the current companion. Oswin -- Oswin Oswald, Jlc in "Asylum of the Daleks." Montague -- Clara Oswin Oswald, Jlc in "The Snowmen," called "Miss Montague" in her governess alter-ego. Clara -- Clara Oswald, Jlc in "The Bells of Saint John." Presumably ongoing, but no guarantees! Echoes -- When Montague, unconscious and dying, says, "Run you clever boy and remember," this is a direct echo of Oswin because she said that out of the blue. When Clara says, "Run you clever boy and remember 123," this is an indirect echo as she was creating a mnemonic for "random" characters in a password. 11 »

'Doctor Who' Primer: Who Is The Great Intelligence?
1 April 2013 9:36 AM, PDT
This story contains minor spoilers for the "Doctor Who" episode "The Bells of Saint John." New "Doctor Who" fans might have enjoyed hearing Ian McKellen's voice as the Great Intelligence, but may not have fully realized that not only is this the new big bad guy for the second half of Season 7, but it's an old foe as well. In "The Snowmen," the Great Intelligence connects with a young boy in the 19th century, and uses its control over snow to nearly take over London. However, The Doctor is able to stop it, along with the now grown man, Dr. Simeon, played by Richard E. Grant. The episode, however, had a number of Easter eggs that delighted classic fans of the series. That's because the Great Intelligence is not a new villain at all. In fact, he was first created by writers Henry Lincoln »
