Bradley Cooper Steps in for Jude Law in 'Jane Got a Gun'

I feel compelled to report Bradley Cooper has stepped into the role previously occupied by Jude Law in Jane Got a Gun, the western now filming in New Mexico that was once going to be directed by Lynne Ramsay and will now be helmed by Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) following Ramsay's unexplained departure. The film stars Natalie Portman as a woman whose outlaw husband returns home riddled with bullet wounds and barely alive. When her husband's gang eventually tracks him down to finish the job, she is forced to reach out to an ex-lover (Joel Edgerton) and ask if he will help defend her farm. Rodrigo Santoro co-stars and Cooper will be playing the role of the film's villain. I report this now because I've covered virtually every turn in the film's production, including Law's departure on the heels of Ramsay's exit so this brings it full circle. Deadline »
