'American Idol' preview: Kelly Clarkson and Scotty McCreery will perform in the Top 6 week

"American Idol" Season 12 is doing a great job in bringing back past "Idol" winners for performances. After Carrie Underwood sang for the Top 7 elimination show, there's really only one way to beat that for the next week: Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson will perform on Thursday, April 11 during the Top 6 "Idol" results show.

Of course, even Clarkson performing her new single, "People Like Us," isn't enough singing for a single night. She will be joined on the stage by yet another alum, Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery. Both are scheduled to entertain us while we wait to find out which of the Top 6 singers will move on to the Top 5.

In order to make it through next week, each of the remaining six competitors will need to perform two songs. We don't know the theme for one of those tunes, but the other will reflect "A Song I Wish I Had Written. »
