A brand-new, artsy teaser video for Dexter Season 8 (premiering June 30) paints a not-pretty picture of what’s ahead for TV’s Favorite Serial Killer (Cable Drama Division).

The video from Showtime starts with a close-up of one lone, innocent-enough droplet of blood (or, you know, paint, probably), but then things begin to spiral — as Dexter warns that he himself is spiraling out of control.
And when he does? “It is not going to be pretty.”
