A girl boss detective returns to her hometown, only to find herself in the middle of a murder mystery that only brings up the own haunting traumas from the past. Rte’s latest attempt at making a thriller, Blackshore does just enough to not lose your interest in it. It’s hard not to frown at some of the tropey elements, but the straightforward plot and convincing storytelling make for a good binge-watching session.

Love may be patient and kind, but it’s also complicated, unpredictable and often elusive. Still, that doesn’t stop many people from trying to find it — even if it takes dozens of speed-dating sessions or a lifetime of looking for the right partner. In Love on the Spectrum US, a group of singles on the autism spectrum attempt to navigate the messy world of dating and relationships. Some of them are lucky enough to discover love, while others are left still searching for their special someone by the show’s end. We caught up with several of them to see what they’ve been up to since filming wrapped, if they have any updates on their dating life and their favorite moments from the show.
Steve, 63
How have you been since filming? I have been doing well living my life. I do miss the film crew — Cian, Sean and others.

Twitch employees are being hit with another round of layoffs–and some are reporting that while they haven’t been let go yet, they’ve been officially notified their jobs are “at risk.”
A source familiar with the matter told GamesIndustry.biz that layoffs are impacting Twitch’s customer experience department, and that the platform will be outsourcing those services to vendors instead of keeping them in-house.
We don’t know exactly how many staffers have been let go, but it appears whatever the number is now may grow in the future: One employee tweeted there was a “very very slim” chance they may still have their job, but said they’d “been officially noticed that my position is At Risk.”
Doesn’t look like I made the cut this time, there’s still a very very slim chance but I’ve been officially noticed that my position is At Risk.

Twitter users were underwhelmed following Sunday night’s finale of Sam Levinson’s controversial HBO series, “The Idol,” with some saying it was a “waste of everyone’s time” while another dismissed it as “straight trash.”
The twist, in which pop singer Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) proved to be as much of a manipulator as abusive guru Tedros (Abel Tesfaye), drew an over all, “What the hell was that?”
“The Idol was really a waste of everyone’s time but this is what happen when men take over tv shows that wasn’t their business in the first place,” tweeted Darby Shaw, referencing Sam Levinson replacing original director Amy Seimetz.

Many were left confused by Jocelyn’s flip-flopping affections Tedros.

A backdrop of grizzled drinkers suggests an inevitability for the hedonistic sportsman, unless the return of a familiar face can help him come to terms with his fate
Masculinity in Ireland is, like everywhere else, in a wobbly state – according to this heart-on-sleeve debut feature about a Gaelic footballer too fond of the old craic. Éanna Hardwicke plays Cian, a dairy farmer, amateur sportsman and committed hedonist never slow to hit the pub after training. After roping two pals into yet another nightclub bender, he’s subjected to a brutal alleyway beating that leaves him with concussion and struggling for his bearings in life.
With a laconic quip for every eventuality, Cian won’t open up to those around him – including his agitated dad (Lorcan Cranitch), who is constantly on his case on the farm – or be frank with himself about the fact he is suffering. His standing on the football team,...

A small story about a big event in one man’s life, Lakelands is a carefully tuned, low key piece of cinema with fine work from all involved. It’s the story of a Gaelic football player who sustains a life-changing injury, but it’s also a commentary on what it means to be a man in a society where masculinity is understood almost exclusively in terms of the physical, and on the new direction which Ireland is finding for itself as the world changes.
Éanna Hardwicke plays Cian, the best player in his team and constantly under pressure because of it. Gaelic football is more than just a game to him, and more than just a chance to make something if his talent – it’s the only real opportunity available at all in his remote rural location. The alternative is labouring all day just to scratch a living on the family dairy farm,...
