Dayana Gomez(I)
- Actress
- Producer
- Writer
Born and raised in Venezuela. Her name was inspired by singer Diana Ross, but this rare spelling (still pronounced "Diana") was chosen to make her stand out.
Dayana was most recently cast to embody the life of a CIA Agent who needs to settle a personal vendetta. The multilingual Latina actress gravitated toward this role because her creative energy is focused on characters that speak to a woman's inner strength.
Her Colombian parents bravely escaped their native country from the drug cartels and political conflicts. Venezuela became their new home and Dayana's birthplace. For several years their family struggled to adjust while working tirelessly to bring her a bright future in the middle of yet another violent revolution that was destroying their quality of life.
At the young age of 12, Dayana found solace by auditioning for TV shows, competing in talent contests, and even modeling for prestigious Fashion Designers, before landing her breakout role, and first experience on-camera, starring in an episode of the popular soap opera, "Mi Prima Ciela."
Unfortunately, she soon found herself in the same position as her parents once were. Being forced out of her home country. The turbulent political crisis almost took her life as she was speaking up against the Dictatorship after dissenting on the streets for the freedom of Venezuela. After being separated from her family, she sought asylum in the United States.
Dayana's next goal was education, being deeply inspired by another multilingual Venezuelan actor, Edgar Ramirez, who motivated her to learn Italian in an attempt to portray real Italian roles in theater school. Then, determined to apply to LAMDA, she moved, once again on her own, to Oxford and studied English, but ultimately transferred back to where it all began, the Metropolitan University in Venezuela. Today, despite the endless challenges, Dayana managed to learn not only Italian and English, but also French, and several dialects for each. It has not only helped her in booking diverse Voice Over roles but has led to discovering a love of teaching English as a second language (ESL) class to emigrants, whose journey she can relate to all too well.
Dayana is a strong, vulnerable, and passionate human being and artist with a versatile international look, she's been called a young Monica Bellucci, with the loud and funny personality of Sofia Vergara.
Based in Los Angeles, this Latinx triple threat is currently writing and producing her own projects based on her life as an emigrant and refugee. She is repped by Sovereign Talent Group.
