Willie Nelson was forced to quite smoking marijuana a few years back due to breathing issues. However, that doesn’t mean the country legend has cut down on his cannabis consumption; he still vapes and eats edibles. He’s also picked up more than a few cannabis recipes over the years, which he and his wife Annie have now collected in a new cookbook.
Willie & Annie Nelson’s Cannabis Cookbook is set for release on November 12th via Gallery Books (pre-orders are now ongoing). Spanning 256 pages, the recipe book draws from the couple’s “favorite meals on nationwide tours, at the ranch, at home, and in their favorite cities along the way.”

There are recipes for buffalo wings, fried chicken, and chocolate cake, as well as “additional chapter providing a full suite of cannabis-infused base ingredients—cannabutter, finishing oil, simply syrups, sugars, salts, and tinctures.

Taking place at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden on Thursday, July 4th, the all-star concert will see Willie Nelson & Family joined by Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Maren Morris, Mavis Staples, and Celisse.
A ticket pre-sale for Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic is set for Wednesday, March 27th at 10:00 a.m. Et (use code Key), with a pubic on-sale following on Friday, March 29th via Ticketmaster.
Nelson first staged his 4th of July Picnic in 1973 and has been hosting the event semi-reguarlly ever since (including two digital editions in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic). This year’s event marks the first iteration not to take place in Nelson’s native Texas since 2009.

At 90 years young, there appears to be nothing that will slow Willie Nelson down. “The Red-Headed Stranger” is still doing everything he was doing when he started his career in country music. That includes recording and releasing new music. In fact, Willie Nelson just revealed the release date of his next album. This will be the “Always On My Mind” singer’s 75th album.
The New Willie Nelson Album
Willie Nelson has announced his upcoming album will be titled The Border. This album will not include as many songs as several of his past albums have. The latest album will only have 10 songs.
Of those 10 songs, four of them were co-written by the “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man” singer and Buddy Cannon. Nelson and Buddy Cannon have written songs together for quite some time.

Post Malone kicked off the 2024 Super Bowl festivities with an impassioned performance of “America the Beautiful” at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
The Grammy-winning rapper and singer appeared alongside model and dancer Anjel Piñero, who performed the song in American Sign Language (Asl) on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf. Standing solo with an acoustic guitar in hand, Posty delivered a tasteful version of the song, with reverb-washed vocals and a dreamy pedal steel guitar line.
Speaking about the performance with Zane Lowe earlier this week, Malone revealed that he felt “totally out of [his] depth” compared to the evening’s other performers, and said, “I’m just excited and very, very honored to be able to come out and sing these songs with talented people and all of America. I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m terrified, but I give it the best I got.” Watch the performance below.

Bluegrass pioneer Earl Scruggs was born 100 years ago this week, and the tributes to the banjo picker have been many. On Friday, Tony Trischka, himself a banjo disciple of Scruggs, released a rollicking version of “Brown’s Ferry Blues,” a song dating back to the Thirties, that features an array of A-list players including Billy Strings, Béla Fleck, and Sam Bush.
Written by long-ago Grand Ole Opry stars the Delmore Brothers, “Brown’s Ferry Blues” features Strings on lead vocals, with Fleck and Trischka delivering a pair of banjo breakdowns.

When Willie Nelson asks if you have any songs he can sing on, you always say “yes.” That’s the lesson delivered by Charley Crockett, who duets with Nelson on the new collaboration “That’s What Makes the World Go Around.”
According to Crockett, the Red Headed Stranger was recently recording at his Pedernales Recording Studio in Spicewood, Texas, and wanted to cut a new one. “I told him I had plenty,” Crockett said in a statement, adding that he proceeded to hang up, drive to his producer’s, and begin furiously writing.

There are few things more potentially derailing to a rising artist’s career than imposter syndrome, that nagging sense that you’re just not good enough to warrant a seat at the table. But Nashville guitar phenom Daniel Donato views the condition less as an obstacle and more an opportunity to absorb. Willie Nelson has taken a page from Bono’s book (pun intended) with Energy Follows Thought: The Stories Behind My Songs. The memoir, which breaks down 160 of the country legend’s compositions, is out October 31st via HarperCollins.
Nelson co-wrote Energy Follows Thought with David Ritz and Mickey Raphael. Alongside some never-before-seen photos of the artist, the book offers Nelson’s insights into songs from across his decades-long career, from the compositions he only got $50 for as a Nashville songwriter to the solo songs that have become classics. The project will delve into Willie’s Family and his relationships with Patsy Cline, Waylon Jennings, Ray Charles, Merle Haggard, Ray Price, and Dolly Parton, as well as his personal life. It follows Nelson’s 2016 offering Pretty Paper, also co-written with David Ritz, and marks his 10th book overall. Pre-orders are ongoing.

With his signature one-liner — “It’s good to be here, it’s good to be anywhere” — Keith Richards emerged onstage at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday night to sing with Willie Nelson at the second of the country legend’s two 90th birthday concerts. Billy Strings sings an ode to the high life in “California Sober,” a new duet featuring the great Willie Nelson. The song is Strings’ first release under his new deal with Reprise Records and arrives just in time for Nelson’s 90th birthday.
“California Sober” is an up-tempo bluegrass tune that’s about (mostly) clean living. “I’ve had years I don’t recall, but I’m told I had a ball,” Strings sings in the first verse, confessing that he left drink and the harder stuff behind for his favorite crop.

During Goose’s emergence as one of rock’s most exciting live acts, the Connecticut jam band has collaborated onstage with the likes of Trey Anastasio, Billy Strings, Margo Price and Big Boi. The group added another, albeit unlikely special guest Friday in the form of Jimmy Fallon, who joined Goose for the encore, a rendition of the oft-covered R&b classic “Mustang Sally.”

It’s the first Tuesday of the month and, as has been his standing date since October, Dierks Bentley is onstage at Nashville’s cinderblock picking parlor the Station Inn, playing bluegrass staples with his road band under the anonymous name of Long Jon. After rambunctious versions of Tony Rice’s “Cold on the Shoulder” and Ralph Stanley’s “Katy Daley,” Bentley takes off his Martin acoustic and feigns swapping instruments with fiddle player Dan Hochhalter. It’s a gag, a bit. Bentley doesn’t play fiddle. He’s a guitar strummer,...

Dierks Bentley will sing of lows and highs on his new album Gravel & Gold. It’s the enduring country star’s 10th studio project and arrives Feb. 24, nearly five years after the release of his last album, The Mountain.
In conjunction with the news, Bentley also released the album’s opening track, “Same Ol’ Me.” The swampy rocker has Bentley striking a defiant tone about sticking to his guns. “What you get is gonna be what you see, ‘cause baby I’m the same ol’ me,” he sings. It follows...

“There were definitely a lot more waffles than people that night,” says Rick Mitarotonda, the lead singer and guitarist for Goose. He’s reflecting on the band’s 2017 gig at Funk N Waffles, a 200-capacity venue in Syracuse, New York, just a half mile from where he and his bandmates are gathered on this November Friday night — at the 7,000-seat Oncenter War Memorial.
Earlier this summer, Rolling Stone talked to Goose — the country’s hottest jam band — about adapting their live sound for the studio to record their album Dripfield.

Dierks Bentley and Billy Strings hunker down to greet the end of days with some bluegrass jams and weed in the new song “High Note,” a lively romp from Bentley’s upcoming new album.
A brisk, rumbling acoustic guitar riff kicks things off, and the band — featuring Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, and Bryan Sutton — gets into gear. Bentley senses the possibility of apocalyptic doom and says he has no plans to hide in a bunker. “I’ll be holed up in the basement with two very special guests/A big...
