Matthew GK Wong is a Grammy-Nominated Composer and Musical Director Based in Los Angeles. He's working as the Music Director at WAVE Meditation, an innovative meditation start-up that launched in August of 2019 and is making headlines in the wellness, tech, and music industries. In this role, Matthew directs a team of writers, composers, and engineers with a mission to re imagine meditation practice for a modern audience through an ever-evolving catalog of original music.
Matthew composed the score for Netflix's Dating Around. In 2019, Wong also composed music for popular TV programs A&E's Kid's Behind Bars and documentary films "Wrinkles the Clown."
In 2018, he composed additional music for three films that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival - "End Game", "This is Home", and "Game Changers" as well as "The Proposal" and "Charm City" which both debuted at the TriBeCa Film Festival.
In addition to his scores, GK Wong produced and co-wrote songs on Jazmine Sullivan's Grammy-Nominated album "Reality Show." He also produced and wrote songs on Sullivan's 2021 BET Album of the Year "Heaux Tales."
Matthew also lived every musician's dream when he recorded and toured internationally with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, the acclaimed indie rock band from Philadelphia. Matthew Wong is a proud Chinese-American, born and raised in Portland, OR and a graduate of Princeton University.
When he's not busy doing everything, you can find him with his wife and daughter adding more exotic plants to their ever-growing tropical plant collection.
