They don’t make kids programming like they used to. It used to be that nearly every animated kids title came with jokes for the adults to get and the kids to grow into, in addition to age-appropriate gags and life lessons for the younger viewers. Nowadays, kids programming doesn’t seem to reflect a belief that young viewers can get a well-written joke. But that’s not the case with Monsters at Work. The Disney animated series, which debuts its second season on Friday, April 5 on Disney Channel and Friday, May 5 on Disney+, has original Monsters, Inc. stars Billy Crystal and John Goodman voicing Mike Wazowski and Sulley once more. Crystal tells TV Insider that the little green guy (who he calls “CBS walking”) is his favorite character he’s ever played. Crystal and his co-stars all sang the praises of this series to TV Insider, saying it’s...

Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella Strahan, is continuing her health journey following last year’s diagnosis of medulloblastoma and successful surgery to remove a brain tumor.
In a recent video update, she revealed she was back in the hospital for more chemotherapy.
Her twin sister Sophia, their aunt, and grandmother were in the room for an early part of the video to offer support.
Later, Michael’s girlfriend, Kayla Quick, handled the filming as Isabella had some blood drawn from her port. She sat up afterward and told the staff that it didn’t “hurt at all.”
At that moment, Michael made a cameo in the video, seen wearing a dark cap and sweatshirt as he sat next to his daughter’s bed and looked at his phone.
The Good Morning America anchor continued to support his 19-year-old daughter as she completed another milestone with her cancer battle.

"Avatar" fans spent 13 years hearing naysayers doubting the existence of "Avatar: The Way of Water," its chances of actually getting finished and released, and even the film's chances of making its money back — this last bit particularly from big doubter Mr. James Cameron, who called the film "the worst business case in movie history." But now, the film is finally out, and it is a monumental success, getting rather good reviews and making huge amounts of money — even if Cameron doesn't think it is all about the money.
What other movie has a giant blue alien wearing Oakleys? Or a whale literally ripping the arm off a whaler? This is a grand, epic blockbuster, one where James Cameron essentially remakes the end of "Titanic" and a movie where the hero and the villain take a little breather in the middle of their climactic fight to check on each other before carrying on.

Joe Wright's 2015 film, "Pan," an anachronistic and colorful origin story for Peter Pan, sounded like a good idea on paper. Reimagined origin stories were very much in vogue then throughout popular culture, and the tale of how an immortal elven boy came to Neverland only to become rivals with a one-handed pirate is certainly ripe for exploration. Also, Wright was a hot commodity, having directed a Best Picture Oscar nominee ("Atonement"), a strange action film ("Hanna"), and a high-profile literary adaptation ("Anna Karenina"). Additionally, Wright managed to secure an impressive cast that included Rooney Mara, Cara Delevigne, and Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard the Pirate. Levi Miller played Peter Pan, and Garrett Hedlund played an ally to Pan in the form of the young, sexy, two-handed James Hook, a ship's captain destined to live up to his name.
"Pan" was made for a hefty 150 million. On its opening weekend, it made a rather dinky 15 million.

The Choir of Westminster Abbey had quite a moment in the spotlight during Monday’s state funeral service for Queen Elizabeth II, with one choir boy in particular capturing hearts across social media.
As the ensemble sang hymns and songs throughout the duration of the ceremony, viewers took note of a young singer with curly red hair who delivered a star-worthy performance filled with passion, movement and expression.
Dubbed by some as the “Mvp” of the funeral, the boy was praised for his earnest emotion — and Twitter just couldn’t get enough.
I know it’s all about the queen but the star of this funeral so far has been the overly dramatic redheaded choirboy who apparently has never brushed his hair

Pixar films have become increasingly nebulous of late, trying to sell high concept ideas like the journey of the Soul or disappearing down the confusing wormhole that is Toy Story spin-off Lightyear. This 2001 film is a reminder that they often score best with simple concepts that all children can immediately understand - in this case, nightmares. Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and his mate Sulley (John Goodman) have a job to do - and that is go out at night and scare kids, with their fear powering Monstropolis - but kids are getting harder to frighten. Worse still, one little girl sneaks back to base with them and with kids considered highly toxic to monsters, the stage is set for general mayhem, gingered up further by the presence of the malevolent Randall (Steve Buscemi). The film is visually stunning but it's the depth of its.

In Pixar's "Monsters Inc.," monsters Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) are gainfully employed as professional child scarers at a renewable energy company that harnesses not wind or solar power, but the screams of human children. All is well, but when a little girl finds her way into the factory, Sulley and Mike must return the child back home before her presence destroys the company. It's a rather unique movie premise. If I were a head honcho at a major studio that caters to children, it would have taken a very compelling argument to persuade me to greenlight...

Harry and Sally. Emily and Sue. Stede and Ed. There are some romantic couples that you never want to see apart once they've found one another. Then there are classic platonic duos like Doc and Marty from "Back to the Future," whose adventures just wouldn't the same without each other by their side.
In-between those two groups, you have James P. "Sulley" Sullivan and Mike Wazowski, two characters who aren't, per se, in love with each other, but they're also not not in love with each other. Their first movie, 2001's "Monsters, Inc.," is about the duo learning how to be unlikely parents, and the 2013...

From 1995 to 2009, Pixar released one sequel to a previous film: Toy Story 2, made in the shaky early days of the company’s relationship with Disney, and originally planned as a straight-to-video production. From 2010 on, Pixar has released seven different sequels or prequels, and extending franchises has become as much, it not more, a part of the company’s creative DNA as coming up with original stories. Fortunately, most of these continuation films have been good to very good — even if few of them feel necessary.

Two decades after the wonderfully zippy, goofy “Monsters, Inc.” was released in theaters, Pixar is bringing back Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan for another adventure. The upcoming television series “Monsters at Work,” which premieres July 7 on Disney Plus, picks up where “Monsters, Inc.” left off, with CEO Henry J. Waternoose headed for the slammer, children deemed non-toxic, and laugh energy replacing the suddenly outmoded scream energy.
