Antonieta Martinez Hernandez is a writer director born in Oaxaca, Mexico.
She has spent much of her life experiencing 'home' in different parts of the world, becoming a citizen of change and movement. This ever-changing existence exposed her to newness, this newness made her a trained observer, patient when it comes to allowing life to unfold around her. It's a silent task, a lonely one too and one that induces a lot of questions. A quest for answers led her to filmmaking.
Antonieta went on to pursue a double degree in Film Theory & Criticism at The American University of Paris. She complimented her formal, theoretical education with the practical and rigorous exercise of Method acting training at The Lee Strasberg Conservatory in New York City.
In November 2018 she began production on Gloriosa Juventud, a powerful poetic rationalization of the very violent frequency that is disappearing the youth of Mexico. In June of 2019 the film began the film festival circuit.
