Matthew is an award-winning LGBTQ writer whose series pilot, Nightside, a political thriller set in Paris and London, was short-listed for the Big Break Contest 2022 (Hour Drama, Category: Diversity), and went on to be developed with showrunner Liz Garcia for eOne Television. Prior to that, The Unearthed, his gothic horror series pilot, was picked up and developed for Netflix.
He also penned The Apparition, a religious thriller series pilot, currently in development, as well as the gothic horror podcast, What Happened to Emily Blackwell?, which is currently in production. He served as writers' assistant for the Disney+ hit series, Goosebumps.
While training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, he wrote The Death of the Heart, a stage play based on Elizabeth Bowen's novel. It was selected for a staged reading at RADA, cast exclusively with RADA alumnae. He was also a finalist for the William Faulkner Prize for Best Short Story.
