In a heartfelt gesture, Drake, the renowned rapper, expressed his condolences to the family of a mother and daughter who tragically lost their lives after they attended his concert at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
At his performance in Buffalo, New York, on February 28, the artist took a moment to remember the victims and urged his fans to embrace love and compassion.
Laticha Bracero, 42, and her daughter Alyssa Cordova, 21, were leaving the joint concert that featured Drake and J. Cole on February 13 when they were struck by a speeding car that ran a red light. Video footage captured the horrific incident. Bracero passed away at the scene and Cordova succumbed to her injuries later at the hospital.
The driver responsible for the tragedy, Monte Henderson, 22, was arrested and charged with two counts each of armed criminal action and involuntary manslaughter, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" just might be the biggest surprise of 2023, a tremendous box office success that tells the crowd-pleasing, four-quadrant story of ... J. Robert Oppenheimer's work on the atomic bomb.
In his review for /Film, Chris Evangelista called the film "a conflicting movie with an unknowable core. It's also one of the best movies of the year." Nolan's best movie, "Oppenheimer" unites virtually every white male actor in Hollywood for a film with endless talk about physics and math that still manages to be thrilling.
Nolan's crowning achievement is condensing the gargantuan 700-page biography "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer" into a functional screenplay, but that meant cutting some things. This made the film a target for audiences disappointed that the film undermined the point of view of those who were wronged, attacked, harmed, and/or killed by Oppenheimer's work, like the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki,...

Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer," released July 21, fixes its gaze on the titular J. Robert Oppenheimer, who coordinated the Manhattan Project, which ultimately led to the US using two nuclear weapons on Japan at the end of World War II. In the movie, his efforts climax in the Trinity test, which took place July 16, 1945. It was the first detonation of a nuclear weapon in history, and though the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki would ultimately show the full impact of these new weapons, Trinity is the one time Oppenheimer got to see his work firsthand.
In the film, Oppenheimer and other members of the Manhattan Project choose Los Alamos in New Mexico and the Trinity site (located 210 miles south) because they were seemingly deserted. But scholars and activists have challenged that notion for years. In the decades since, as the United States government has started to take responsibility for some of...

“I wanted to create an elf from where I stand in the world,” explains Ismael Cruz Córdova. The actor portrays Arondir on “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” The elves depicted in Peter Jackson’s infamous films were all royals, but Arondir is the first one “from the bunch” as Córdova puts it. Not only is he a foot soldier, someone of more common status in elven hierarchy, but he also marks the first time an actor of color has played an elf on screen. “I took the chance of doing something new,” says the actor. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
If there’s one aspect of Arondir that Córdova sees in himself, it’s a sense of resilience. “I grew up in quite a poor community in the mountains of Puerto Rico,” he explains, continuing that it feels like “kind of an improbable journey” from...

This Star Wars Jedi: Survivor contains spoilers.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag last year. On one hand, the series retconned established Star Wars lore and made Obi-Wan fight Darth Vader before the Death Star duel, despite previous canon strongly suggesting they hadn’t crossed lightsabers since Mustafar. On the other hand, the show introduced an excellent concept that demonstrated regular people were willing to fight against the Empire, even before the Rebel Alliance was founded. And Star Wars Jedi: Survivor not only brings that concept back but also sets up how this secretive organization might appear in a future game.
Much of Jedi: Survivor revolves around the hidden planet of Tanalorr, which is cut off from the rest of the galaxy due to a space anomaly. The game follows characters racing against each other to reach Tanalorr, including protagonist Cal Kestis,...

When The Gauntlet published Brindlewood Bay, author Jason Cordova realized that he had a framework that could be applied to other tabletop roleplaying game settings aside from mystery-solving grannies that run afoul of fiendish cults. After the success of the Kickstarter campaign last year, Cordova returned to an idea he was kicking around in 2014 called Public Access, which had players narrating weird found footage horror scenes but didn’t have much in the way of game or story. Upon revisiting it, he expanded on the idea with lessons learned from both Brindlewood Bay and The Between, another game of his that uses the same system, while still retaining his original analog horror vision. After getting my hands on Public Access, it’s clear that this RPG sits at a perfect intersection of mechanics and theme, creating a unique experience for both players and game masters.

Two words that come to mind regarding the Season 2 finale of “Ginny & Georgia” are “shotgun” and “wedding,” but not in the way you might think.
Just as Georgia (Brianne Howey) marries Wellsbury Mayor Paul Randolph (Scott Porter) in the Cinderella-esque wedding of her dreams, Detective Gabriel Cordova (Alex Mallari Jr.) crashes the ceremony to arrest Georgia for the murder of Tom Fuller, whom she did, in fact, smother with a pillow. Season 2 ends with Georgia getting taken away in a cop car and her son Austin (Diesel La Torraca) chasing after her in tears.
“As heartbreaking as it was, I love the ending because again, life is contrast, life is joy and tragedy and nothing in life gets wrapped up in a perfect bow. So why would the Season 2 finale of ‘Ginny & Georgia’?” Howey says in an interview with TheWrap.

It took three episodes of a long cold war for mother and daughter to finally sit down and talk.
Georgia finally revealed to Ginny why she killed Kenny on Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Episode 3. After their brutal fight, it was enjoyable to see them against the world again.
While things were thawing with her mom, Ginny still dealt with an icy reception from the mean girls at school.
You couldn't pay me to return to high school. Teenage girls are mean when they think they've been wronged, and Maxine Baker now considers Ginny her archnemesis. Abby wasn't far behind on that list.
Neither of them deserved this hatred, and by now, Hunter and Nora had grown tired of it, but Max was the school's queen bee.

Spoilers for "The High Republic: Convergence" follow.
Author Zoraida Cordova enters the world of "The High Republic" with her novel "Star Wars: The High Republic: Convergence," the first adult novel in the second phase of "The High Republic." "The High Republic" is Lucasfilm's "Star Wars" publishing initiative that is set a couple of hundred years, give or take, further back than "The Phantom Menace." It's a much more frontier look at the galaxy before the decay of bureaucracy instigated by Palpatine sets in. The Jedi are optimists and, essentially, cowboys on the fringe of the Republic, doing good where they can and fighting evil where they can find it. The era has many tests for the Jedi, though, and there are dangers lurking around every corner.
In "Convergence" we're introduced to a twinned pair of worlds, Eiram and E'ronoh, locked in what they call a Forever War. They're symbiotically linked for survival,...

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is a giant collection of individual pieces. Branch down from any one element and there are so many different parts that have to function together to make it all work.
Fight scenes are no different. For every wide shot of a skirmish — in the case of Episode 6, “Udûn,” ones in the Southlands village near the tower Ostirith — each bit of chaos has to mesh together. For series stunt coordinator Vic Armstrong, that starts with assembling a team.
When hiring local stunt performers, Armstrong looks not only at strength and agility, but the true element of performance that goes hand-in-hand with them. It can be as simple as seeing how someone can sell the idea of being hit by an arrow.
“One test is I send them running across a field and tell them to give me your interpretation of bullet hitting you.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" is an ambitious undertaking for Prime Video, but the series is already off to a good start. A blend of old and new ideas, "The Rings of Power" forges its own path to Middle-earth by introducing a set of original (and quintessential) protagonists in the large-scale, overarching narrative. This strategy includes the involvement of several distinct storylines, one of which features a romance between the Silvan Elf Arondir (Ismael Crus Córdova) and a very familiar-looking human, Bronwyn.
The concept of an elf-human relationship is nothing new to "The Lord of the Rings", but the Prime Video series looks to tackle it from the jump. And in doing so, the show cast an actress that is more than prepared to carry the torch of that dynamic. No stranger to television, Nazanin Boniadi portrays the human character Bronwyn in "The Rings of Power.
