Disney announced earlier this year that Hocus Pocus 3 is definitely happening, with Anne Fletcher (Hocus Pocus 2) returning to direct and Jen D’Angelo back to write the script.
But what’s the status on Hocus Pocus 3, now that we’re one year removed from the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2? D’Angelo provides a fresh update to Entertainment Weekly.
“We’re still in the story phase, we’re still working on it. We’ve been working on some ideas, and it’s been fun to dive back into that world and we have so many directions in which to go and so many new characters to explore,” D’Angelo tells the outlet. She continues, “We’ve only scratched the surface of Hannah Waddingham’s mother witch.”

While the fashion set focused on France for the ongoing Paris Fashion Week, Chanel managed to sneak in a chic dinner over the weekend in New York City for a couple of its A-list collaborators.
Timothée Chalamet ducked into Bemelmans Bar at the famed Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where he joined legendary auteur Martin Scorsese to toast their partnership on the Bleu de Chanel campaign. Earlier this year, the Dune star debuted as the latest face of Chanel’s men’s fragrance, and for the campaign, Chalamet teamed with photographer Mario Sorrenti for the images and clips, as well as Scorsese for an accompanying short film. All three were in attendance Saturday night, along with guests like filmmaker Josh Safdie and Gossip Girl star Whitney Peak.
Originally launched in 2010, Bleu de Chanel is the house’s woody, aromatic fragrance designed for “the man who defies convention.

So if you want to get your hands on this one, head over to Funko.com before all the Witch Mother figures are sold!
ThatHashtagShow informs, “The Witch Mother plays a brief but significant role in the Disney feature Hocus Pocus 2. The character, portrayed by Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham, meets the Sanderson sisters when they’re still children. Sensing witchy potential in young Winifred, the Witch Mother gives the sisters their iconic spellbook.

Colin Tilley, the acclaimed director of music videos for Cardi B, Justin Bieber, and Nicki Minaj, will make his feature debut with “Somewhere in Dreamland.”
Production recently wrapped on the project, which stars Whitney Peak, from “Gossip Girl” and “Hocus Pocus 2,” as well as S. Epatha Merkerson (“Law & Order”), Golda Rosheuvel (“Bridgerton”), Finn Bennett (“True Detective”) and newcomer Laken Giles. Elisa Victoria penned the original graphic novel and the screenplay with Michael Tully.
The horror film follows Anna (Peak), who is grieving the sudden death of her parents when she relocates from New York to a small Florida town to live with the grandmother (Merkerson) she’s never met. Another Hocus Pocus is in the works.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Anne Fletcher and Jen D’Angelo will be returning to direct and write, respectively, after collaborating on Hocus Pocus 2.
It comes as little surprise given the success of last year’s sequel, which set a record for an opening weekend by a movie on a streamer with 2.7 billion minutes viewed. Overall, the film landed at No. 5 on the most-streamed movies of 2022 with a total of 5.7 billion minutes viewed.
While the first film was not a box office hit, it became a cult hit over the years thanks to airings on basic cable.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Gossip Girl series finale, “I Am Gossip.”] The Gossip Girl revival on HBO Max wrapped its two-season run with the mention of two major characters from the original series on The CW, and according to showrunner Joshua Safran, they’d tried to get both actors to appear, but scheduling didn’t work out. The teens set a trap by first having Zoya (Whitney Peak) claim she’s Gossip Girl, then dropping the rumor that Shonda Rhimes, Ryan Murphy, and Danny Strong were in a multi-million dollar bidding war for the rights to the story. Of course, Kate (Tavi Gevinson) shows up to what she thinks is a Hollywood meeting, revealing she’s Gossip Girl to the teens. But there isn’t a bigshot producer there; instead, Eric’s (Connor Paolo) husband Jonathan (Matt Doyle) is, as is Andy Cohen. They tell Kate her story will be on Cohen’s show...

The new incarnation of Gossip Girl has been cancelled by HBO Max and will conclude this week. Series creator Josh Safran was saddened by the news, but not surprised. He suspected a cancellation was coming because of how expensive Gossip Girl is ("It takes a lot of money to look this good.") and because numerous HBO Max shows have been cancelled recently.
Starring Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith, the sequel series follows a new group of private school teens living on the Upper East Side. The Gossip Girl sequel series has been cut short. HBO Max has cancelled the drama series after two seasons, according to showrunner Josh Safran (Quantico). There is hope that a new home for season three can be found, but it seems unlikely to happen.
The current iteration of Gossip Girl stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith, with Todd Almond, Adam Chanler-Berat, Johnathan Fernandez, Jason Gotay, and Kristen Bell, reprising her role as the narrator. The drama takes viewers back to the Upper East Side to find a new generation of New York private school teens being introduced to social surveillance, some nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark. NYC’s messiest Instagram account is typing its “XOXOs” for the last time. “Gossip Girl,” the HBO Max series and sequel to the CW hit of the same name, has been canceled, the streamer announced Thursday. The news comes in the middle of the show’s Season 2 run, which began on December 1 and will conclude January 26.
In a tweet Thursday, showrunner and executive producer Joshua Safran stated he intends to shop “Gossip Girl” to other outlets.
“We are currently looking for another home, but in this climate, that might prove an uphill battle, and so if this is the end, at least we went out on the highest of highs,” Safran wrote in his tweet.
The series, which premiered in July 2021 to considerable hype, is a continuation of the original 2007 series of the same name created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Based on the young adult series by Cecily von Ziegesar,...

Hey, Upper Eastsiders: HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” has been canceled, and its series finale will drop on the streamer Jan. 26.
Season 1 premiered in July of 2021, and though it received a critics’ score of 38 on Rotten Tomatoes, Variety‘s Caroline Framke praised it, writing the show “does immediately address one issue that plagued the previous ‘Gossip Girl’ by flipping it on its head in a way that energizes the new one. This time, there will be no guessing games as to who Gossip Girl might be — at least not for the audience.” Season 2 jumped higher on Rotten Tomatoes, but based on fewer reviews.
“We are very grateful to showrunner/executive producer Joshua Safran, and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz for bringing us back to the Upper East Side and all the scandals at Constance Billard,” HBO Max said in a statement. “Although we are not moving forward with...

Gossip Girl‘s return will not go beyond its current second season. HBO Max has opted not to order a third season of the reboot, with the upcoming Season 2 finale on January 26 serving as a series finale.
The new Gossip Girl iteration was developed by Joshua Safran based on the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the original hit CW show developed by Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz, who executive produced the reboot alongside showrunner Safran.

“Gossip Girl” Season 2 picks up with Little Z in a much different spot than the first season, as Zoya attempts to distance herself from her sister, Julien, and the whirlwind of scandal that made for a tumultuous entrance to the Upper East Side.
“She’s trying to build her own safe space, outside of her home and outside of her relationship with her sister and her sister’s boyfriend and the drama that inevitably comes with it,” Whitney Peak told TheWrap. “We find her with Shan just wreaking havoc, but not not so much in a serious or detrimental way, just in kind of a fun scheme-y, prank-y way.”
Despite the twists and turns that called Zoya’s relationship with Julien and her father, Nick, into question, Zoya and Nick welcome Julien into their home after Julien’s father is accused of sexual assault — leading the family to a moment of optimism together,...

Outside of the delicious drama our favorite Upper East Siders deal with daily, what makes the "Gossip Girl" reboot great is the chemistry between the cast. It's easy to believe that Julien, Audrey, Monet, Luna, Max, Aki, and Obie are in fact longtime friends because their respective actors - Jordan Alexander, Emily Alyn Lind, Savannah Lee Smith, Zion Moreno, Thomas Doherty, Evan Mock, and Eli Brown - are also friends in real life. Even the addition of Whitney Peak's Zoya to the characters' group of friends feels genuine because of her magnetic connection with them.
Friendships and relationships (both old and new) are a big part of "Gossip Girl"'s dramatic second season, which kicked off on Dec. 1 - just take it from the cast. "Everything is a lot more intense this season, and we're kind of getting to see different sides and different stories from everybody," Peak tells Popsugar.

Haven't you heard? "Gossip Girl" is back for another chaotic season on HBO Max, and we've got all the deets.
The first season ends with a disastrous New Year's Eve celebration that leaves Julien (Jordan Alexander) cleaning up a major mess with her ex Obie (Eli Brown) and sister Zoya (Whitney Peak). Not to mention, the will-they-won't-they throuple with Aki (Evan Mock), Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind), and Max (Thomas Doherty) finally get the green light (though it surely won't be smooth sailing for them). The biggest surprise of them all, however - aside from Gossip Girl teaming up with Julien to expose everyone's dirty little secrets - is Monet (Savannah Lee Smith) gunning for the queen bee title now that Julien has turned over a new leaf, but there are plenty more shocking reveals ahead in season two, so buckle up for the ride.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains plot details from the first two episodes of Gossip Girl Season 2.
Attention Upper East Siders: Gossip Girl is back, and she has some unfinished business.
Season 2 of the HBO Max series debuted Thursday with two episodes, which ease viewers nicely back into the drama at Constance Billard. Now that we’ve had some time to acquaint ourselves with this new cast of super rich kids and their secrets, Season 2 will show us “the kids became this way for a reason,” creator and executive producer Joshua Safran told Deadline.
“Essentially what would happen in the first Gossip Girl was the first half of the season would be, ‘These kids are disasters and they’re destroying each other.’ And in the second half of every season, we know the reason is because of their parents,” Safran said, explaining that the two-season story arc is mirrored after one,...

Welcome back, Gossip Girl followers. The teen drama is returning with Season 2 on December 1, almost exactly a year after the Season 1 finale started streaming on HBO Max. If you need a crash course on the latest Constance Billard chaos — or if you haven’t even seen HBO Max’s reboot of the original CW series — here’s what went down in Gossip Girl Season 1. The new Gossip Girl picks up nearly a decade after the original left off, but this time, the anonymous tattler exposing secrets at the tony Constance Billard isn’t a student. It’s a cohort of faculty members led by English teacher Kate Keller (Tavi Gevinson), who resurrected Gossip Girl as an Instagram account to turn the tables on the private school’s spoiled students. One of the revived Gossip Girl’s first reveals is that popular Constance Billard student and influencer Julien Calloway (Jordan Alexander) paid to get her half-sister,...

Gossip Girl Season 2 looks like the show we were promised ahead of its debut last year.
HBO Max dropped the official trailer on Thursday, and it looks more scandalous than ever.
The original series was known for its Omg-worthy moments, and if the trailer is any indication, there'll be plenty to go around in the second season.
“It’s the second semester of junior year and Gossip Girl is leaving no stone unturned in her effort to control the scandalous lives or spin the scandalous lies of Manhattan’s elite,” the official logline reads.
“She’s learned a thing or two from her first go-around — namely what her audience wants, they shall get."
"It’s time for her to turn the heat up on what’s been simmering as well as look at her own impact and how she can make it more catastrophic than it was before. Even if...

Disney’s sequel Hocus Pocus 2 was a massive hit for the Disney+ streaming service this Halloween season, setting streaming records and proving that the franchise is now more popular than ever before. Which begs the question. Will Hocus Pocus 3 soon be on the way?

HBO Max’s Gossip Girl season two is welcoming back original cast member Michelle Trachtenberg, reprising her role as Georgina Sparks. And the first three official photos from the upcoming second season even includes one showing Michelle as Georgina!
In an interview with Teen Vogue, showrunner Joshua Safran explained what Trachtenberg’s Georgina will add to the mix.
“What she brought to the original series was anarchy,” stated Safron. “She’s an anarchist. She’ll just do anything and just for any reason she decides. So we brought that energy to the first show, and then we brought that energy back to this one. She’s the same, and that’s what I think is so fun, that Michelle is older, we’re all older, Georgina is older yet has the exact same energy. She’s out of time.

Gossip Girl is back on HBO Max later this year.
Teen Vogue confirmed Thursday that the highly anticipated second reboot season will premiere on Thursday, December 1.
No word yet on whether we're getting all the episodes in one go, but we should get those details when the trailer drops.
Additionally, one of the original Gossip Girl's most chaotic characters is along for the ride.
Showrunner Joshua Safran revealed to Teen Vogue that Michelle Trachtenberg is joining the cast as the villainous Georgina Sparks.
And, thankfully, she'll be up to her same old schemes.
“What she brought to the original series was anarchy,” Safran told the outlet.

The 1993 film starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters is a mainstay, marking spooky season in households across the nation - including Belissa Escobedo's. When the team behind Hocus Pocus 2 decided to embark upon a sequel to the beloved Halloween film, they faced the challenge of trying to figure out how to capture what people loved about the original movie while not repeating the same story from 1993.
“It’s a constant pull,” director Anne Fletcher told The Hollywood Reporter at the Hocus Pocus 2 premiere in New York last month. “You’re thinking as you’re developing the script and putting it up on its feet and creating the sets, the costumes, the cast. You’re constantly thinking what would fans love to see, what would feel too repetitious, what would be just the right amount of spice that the fans would love, so it was constantly on my mind. And I think we balanced things out in the perfect space, just all of...

Things have run amok on Disney+ as October gets underway. The sequel to the much-loved Halloween classic "Hocus Pocus" started streaming on Sept. 30, delighting young and old fans alike. Our favorite witches - the Sanderson sisters - are back and casting spells on a whole new crew of Salem, Ma, residents. Among those portraying the fictional New Englanders is Jess Lee, a Rhode Island resident who channeled her affection for the original 1993 movie into a background gig in "Hocus Pocus 2."
Though Lee, 35, isn't an actor by trade, she exercised her on-camera chops while filming the movie as an extra in Newport, Ri, last November.
"Everyone was so nice, and there was lots of bonding among superfans like me," Lee recounts to Popsugar. Now that she's spotted herself in the film, she's sharing exactly what it was like behind the scenes. Here's what Lee's magical experience was like.
