Disney+, Max and Mubi are among the new participants of Cannes Film Market’s Streamers Forum, a series of conferences discussing the evolution of the streaming landscape. Clément Schwebig, Warner Bros. Discovery’s president of Western Europe and Africa, and Mubi CEO Efe Cakarel will deliver exclusive keynotes at the event.
Schwebig will make his debut on the Croisette in the run up to Max’s launch across 20 European countries on May 21, while Cakarel will give some insight on Mubi’s role in nurturing independent cinema.
This year’s roster will also bring together executives from AVOD services such as Pluto TV, as well as Filmin, the Spanish subscription-based streaming service primarily dedicated to independent films, and Greece’s Cinobo.

Disney+ unveiled new originals out of France, Germany and Spain at Series Mania, with period drama and a pair of true crime projects added to a 70-part Spanish novella that will be stripped through the week.
Episodes of Spanish series Return to Las Sabinas will drop Monday to Friday across its run. The daily drama hails from Banijay prodco Diagonal TV.

Longtime EuropaCorp executive Marie-Laure Montironi has left Luc Besson’s company to join Pathe Films as executive vice president of international sales.
Starting June 27, Montironi will succeed Muriel Sauzay, who left Pathe at the beginning of the year. Montironi worked at EuropaCorp for 10 years, first as co-head of international sales and then as chief sales officer.
She previously worked at deputy head of TV and films sales at M6 and as acquisition manager at Télé Images International.
While at EuropaCorp, Montironi sold worldwide action-packed franchises such as “Taken” and “Transporter,” science-fiction films such as “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” and French movies such as “CoExister” and “Little White Lies.”

International sales exec Marie-Laure Montironi is exiting EuropaCorp and moving to Pathe where she will take up the post of Executive Vice President International Sales. Montironi is succeeding sales vet Muriel Sauzay who left Pathé back in January. She officially starts on June 27.
