KollywoodThe real Pad Man Arunachalam Muruganantham has said that Dhanush would be the ideal actor to play his role if the film ever gets made in Tamil.Digital NativeDigital NativeIf the industry grapevine is anything to go by, the Tamil version of Pad Man, based on the inspiring story of Menstrual Man Muruganantham, may star Dhanush in the titular role. While the Hindi version starred Akshay Kumar, the latest reports doing the rounds is that Dhanush is being considered for the Tamil version of the story. Apparently, the real Pad Man Arunachalam Muruganantham also feels that Dhanush would be the ideal actor to play his role if the film ever gets made in Tamil. Speaking at a special screening of Pad Man in Chennai earlier this week, Muruganantham was asked if he’d wish to see his story get made in Tamil, to which he replied he’d like to see it get made with Dhanush. It’ll be interesting to know if Dhanush would be interested in such a story. It takes guts for a leading hero to play a character that not only endorses low-cost sanitary napkins but also wears it as part of his experiment. The Hindi version, which released last week in cinemas and has had a good run so far, has earned praise for Akshay Kumar from critics and audiences alike. Based on an incredible true story, Pad Man is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham and chronicles his journey of finding a way to manufacture cheap, affordable sanitary napkins for the women in his village. The film was predominantly shot at a village near Indore. On the career front, Dhanush is currently busy shooting for Maari 2, in which he returns as a dhoti-clad, moustache-twirling rowdy. As he awaits the release of Enai Noki Paayum Thota and his first Hollywood film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, he is also gearing up for the shoot of his second directorial in which he will also play the lead. The project is expected to roll from this summer. (Content provided by Digital Native)...
