The FBI failed to investigate a secret room and closet in Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago resort when searching for sensitive documents, according to several witnesses.
Trump’s resort was raided by federal officers on August 8, 2022, when they executed a search warrant. They then searched the premises for any potentially classified material and they found 11,000 documents and took away at least 100 classified documents.
However, a team working for Special Counsel Jack Smith has since spoken to several witnesses claiming that a locked cabinet and a secret room had not been examined during the raid.
According to sources who had spoken to ABC News, investigators involved in this case have since asserted that Trump replaced a lock on the cabinet while searches were in progress while the “hidden room,” which is believed to be connected to the former president’s bedroom, also reportedly went unchecked.

For Miranda Lambert, creating music is all about embracing every emotion and experience life has to offer. It’s an ethos she’s extended beyond the studio, taking it into consideration even when she’s on stage performing for thousands who find connectivity through shared experiences. One of the most moving moments of her live show is the inevitable performance of her 2010 hit “The House That Built Me,” a song that Lambert described in a recent sit-down with Tamron Hall as “everybody’s song.”

Republicans, including former president Donald Trump, have targeted the Justice Department, accusing the agency and its staff of weaponizing the justice system, as well as individual judges. This type of rhetoric has contributed to “toxicity” and an “unprecedented rise” in threats against public officials, said Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.
“On a weekly basis — sometimes more often — I am getting reports about threats to public officials, threats to our prosecutors, threats to law enforcement agents who work in the Justice Department, threats to judges,” Monaco said in an interview that...

The Michigan home of Rahm Emanuel, the U.S. ambassador to Japan, was defaced this weekend with graffiti that said: “Nazis.”
Emanuel, who is Jewish and served as former President Barack Obama’s chief of staff and as the mayor of Chicago, was out of the state when the vandalization occurred. It was discovered by the head of the homeowner’s organization in his southwest Michigan residential community.
“This was scrawled on the fence outside the Michigan home of Rahm Emanuel,” former Obama chief campaign strategist David Axelrod posted on X, formerly Twitter, alongside a photo of the graffiti. “It’s despicable. It’s disgusting. It’s just one more flashing red light. Stop the hate. Stop the antisemitism and the Islamophobia. We know where it leads!”

Sen. Mike Lee perpetuated an unfounded conspiracy theory that federal agents or informants were among the rioters on Jan. 6 and that one may have flashed a law enforcement badge during the attack (in reality, it was a vape). In two posts to X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend, the Republican indulged in a Maga disinformation campaign.
Lee quoted a post from former Jan. 6 committee member Liz Cheney that contained footage of the Capitol attack, writing, “Liz, we’ve seen footage like that a million times. You made sure we saw that—and nothing else.

Always one to juggle a handful of projects in development, as Todd Haynes’ delightfully entertaining drama May December finally arrives in theaters this week, the director has been sharing updates on what he’s working on. While it seems like his Joaquin Phoenix-led 1930s-set gay drama is next on the docket, the director has revealed another project he’s working on.
Speaking to Indiewire, Haynes revealed he’s developing an adaptation of Sarah Waters’ 2014 novel The Paying Guests. “It’s a three-part limited series that would need to be a British production, but it’s a really great novel.” Set in post-wwi London, the drama is part lesbian love story and part murder mystery following a down-and-out widow and her daughter, the latter taking up a relationship with one of their lodgers. Waters also wrote Fingersmith, which was adapted into The Handmaiden by Park Chan-wook. Meanwhile, Haynes also confirmed...

Eleven minutes after the Jacksonville shooter, Ryan Christopher Palmeter, was spotted in the parking lot of Edward Waters University (Ewu), a historically Black institution, the first 911 call was received, as discussed on a call on Monday with Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. But prior to that, he went to a Family Dollar store, a mile away from what appeared to be his main target — the Dollar General where he killed three Black people, and then killed himself. “The suspect worked at a Dollar Tree in the past,...

Marjorie Taylor Greene reminds Americans every day that she doesn’t have much concern for things like decency, democracy, or reality when going about her business in Congress. She instead plays the role of a conspiracy theorizing carnival barker, pushing hate and spewing lies to distract from how badly her party’s approach to governing — or lack thereof — is failing the United States.
She reminded Americans of all of this again on Thursday, holding a stunt press conference to announce that she is introducing articles of impeachment against President Biden.

New York, April 30 (Ians) The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray has revealed that Chinese hackers outnumber FBI cyber staff 50 to one.
The disclosure came as the US and other countries are facing immense cyber threats, particularly from China.
“To give you a sense of what we’re up against, if each one of the FBI’s cyber agents and intel analysts focused exclusively on the China threat, Chinese hackers would still outnumber FBI Cyber personnel by at least 50 to 1,” Wray said during a House Appropriations subcommittee meeting, reports CNBC.
China has “a bigger hacking programme than every other major nation combined and has stolen more of our personal and corporate data than all other nations — big or small — combined,” he told the Congress panel.
Other countries like Russia, Iran and North Korea also pose significant cybersecurity concerns.

The move is aimed at demystifying several conspiracy theories surrounding the alleged deliberate leak of the genetically engineered Sarc Cov 2 virus, a weaponised flu virus, to test its efficacy. The alleged leak or accidental release of the virus from Wuhan lab of Hubei province of China devastated the world killing 5 million people around the globe and infecting 50 million people worldwide, the maximum being in the US and India, just as the Spanish Flu did in 1928 to 1930.
Conspiracy theories abound as a mysterious woman technician from the lab became a whistleblower claiming the virus was leaked from the lab. However, after the whistle-blower disappeared, and nothing was heard of her, the Who officially stated that the virus had accidentally leaked from the lab.

Washington, March 1 (Ians) Christopher Wray, Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), has said that the Covid-19 pandemic “most likely” originated from a “Chinese government-controlled lab” in Wuhan city.

Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino met in 1992 when both filmmakers exploded onto the scene with their respective films, "El Mariachi" and "Reservoir Dogs." Filmmaker panels don't happen quite as often as they used to at major film festivals, but back then, Rodriguez and Tarantino were on a panel addressing violence in the movies (naturally). That was always a hot button topic and both directors, especially Tarantino, have had to address the graphic content in their films multiple times over the years.
Coming off the success of "Kill Bill" and "Sin City" over a decade later, the idea to do "Grindhouse" was born out of curated movie nights that Tarantino would cull together out of old 35mm prints of drive-in movies and obscure trailers from the 1970's. Exclusive: Following a competitive bidding war, Warner Bros TV has landed the Mac Smullen spec pilot Souvenir, Alaska. Carly Wray will exec produce and oversee development, while Lee Toland Krieger will exec produce and direct the pilot. Wbtv, where both have overall deals, had no comment on the project.
Sources say four other networks were chasing the pilot before Wbtv put in the winning bid. While plot details are being kept under wraps, sources close to the pilot describe it as a cross between a Stephen King and Michael Crichton story.
Wray has become one of the more seasoned producers in television working on such shows as Westworld, The Leftovers and Watchmen, for which she won an Emmy. She is repped by WME and Grandview.
Krieger’s past credits include You, Shadow and Bone and Superman & Louis. He is repped by WME and Anonymous Content.

Fay Wray began her autobiography On the Other Hand with an open letter to her most famous co-star. In it she said, “for more than half a century, you have been the most dominant figure in my public life. To speak of me is to think of you. To speak to me is often a prelude to questions about you.” This most dominant figure was of course the mighty King Kong and the film they appeared in together is unquestionably the best remembered in Wray’s career. She went on to tell Kong, “I admire you because you made only one film—and that became famous, whereas I made seventy-five or eighty and only the one I made with you became really famous.” Despite this fact, which was true for many decades, other films in Wray’s filmography have found new life in the years since she wrote those words in 1988. Now,...

About 43 minutes into the 1933 pre-code horror classic “King Kong,” aspiring actress Ann Darrow (Fay Wray) finds herself on a remote island struggling to free herself from the two stone pillars she’s tied to as an offering for the giant ape its inhabitants worship. The trees rustle, and then we see him. Kong. The camera quickly cuts to Wray, who instantly freezes, holding in her breath as if her life depended on it. The camera zooms in on the ape’s face, his eyes growing wide, then suddenly cuts back to Wray, who lets out the most iconic blood-curdling scream in cinema history.
And thus, the scream queen was born.
“I’d become Hollywood’s scream queen without even realizing it,” Wray told journalist James Bawden in a 1989 interview. After the film wrapped, Wray recorded what she called an “Aria of Agonies” — screams and moans for the editors to use as they pleased.

Evoking the idiotic but undeniably iconic image of a shrieking woman and her bouncing boobs running for their lives, the term “scream queen” has shaped horror actresses’ careers ever since Fay Wray climbed the Empire State Building with King Kong in 1933. And yet, the half-funny play on words, nebulously defined and as outdated as the surface-level conceit it describes, doesn’t mean much of anything to the modern moviegoer anymore.
Unlike the “final girl” — a phrase coined and carefully considered in Carol J. Clover’s 1992 “Men, Women, and Chainsaws,” describing the scrappy last victim in your basic slasher — scream queens still don’t have a shared definition among contemporary critics. The term has been retrofitted to acknowledge undeniable legends of the genre like Elsa Lanchester, the “Bride of Frankenstein” herself, and applied to newer genre mainstay actresses from Toni Collette to Jenna Ortega.

Two of the greatest and most successful horror films made in the wave that followed the successes of Dracula, Frankenstein, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in 1931 were virtually lost for much of the ninety years since their release. It is true that the black and white versions of Doctor X (1932) and Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933) remained in circulation in various forms for much of that time, but the original Process 2 Technicolor versions were thought to be gone forever or at least damaged beyond repair.
The films have much more than this in common. Both share much of the same talent both in front of and behind the camera as well as similarities in tone and character. They are the first horror films made in color and examples of early horror-comedies. They are also prime examples of “pre-code” horror with the most subversive moments generally used for comedic effect...
