For those who remember, the game show Press Your Luck relied a lot on good timing. In a very roulette-like manner, contestants would watch squares on a board randomly be highlighted until they prompt it to stop in order to get the prize it halted on. An amazing episode in 1984 would have a contestant endlessly receiving good luck as he won big money every time he called, “Stop!” His fortune would be called into question as he would get accused of cheating on the show. Deadline has now shared the first look at Press Your Luck — a movie that will depict the events of that episode and all the controversy surrounding it, starring Paul Walter Hauser as the fateful contestant.
The synopsis, according to Deadline, reads,
“Set in 1984, the film follows Ohio resident Michael Larson, who steps on to the set of game show Press Your Luck harboring a secret:...

Set in 1984, the film follows Ohio resident Michael Larson, who steps on to the set of game show ‘Press Your Luck’ harboring a secret: the key to endless amounts of money. Indiana Jones is back. This time around he’s back to fight nazis and chase down another McGuffin. It’s a fun entry into the Indy series that you can’t help but think could have been so much more…
There’s a rhythm missing to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and a beat that it doesn’t quite hit. It’s like all the elements are there, just not quite ticking at the right speed, like the beat is just off and it’s knocking the rest of the dance off-rhythm. It also boasts notable newcomers Phoebe Waller-Bridge as his goddaughter Helena Shaw and Mads Mikkelsen as a former Nazi scientist. The cast is rounded out by Boyd Holbrook, Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Oliver Richters, and Ethann Isidore.
Directed by veteran documentary maker Laurent Bouzereau, Timeless Heroes focuses largely on Ford’s undeniable charm, and how his upbringing and early career led him to become the perfect Indy.

Snakes, why’d it have to be snakes? Although Indiana Jones is famously petrified of the reptiles, a new species of snake has been named after Harrison Ford. According to a report published in the scientific journal Salamandra, the newly discovered species of slender snake was found in Peru’s Andes Mountains last spring. The species has been dubbed Tachymenoides harrisonfordi.

Harrison Ford continued, “In all seriousness, this discovery is humbling. It’s a reminder that there’s still so much to learn about our wild world — and that humans are one small part of an impossibly vast biosphere. On this planet,...

Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. -- better known as Indiana Jones -- has made a career out of tirelessly trotting the globe, perpetually on the hunt for the greatest and most priceless relics of the ancient world and dead-set on keeping them out of the hands of the most fearsome villains in history. But just because Indy constantly has to get his hands dirty while risking life and limb in the most remote locations, that doesn't mean we have to do the same just to watch the latest and last installment of the popular franchise. After bowing in theaters earlier this year to largely positive reviews (you can read /Film's review by Lex Briscuso here), director James Mangold's "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" is finally about to be made available for viewers to watch from the comforts of their own home.

I think that the missing beat is Spielberg, he is the one who is the missing piece here. It’s like you assembled all the pieces,...

Indiana Jones 5, aka Dial of Destiny, sees the return of Indy’s longtime friend Sallah (John Rhys-Davies), but that’s not the only reunion in the upcoming film: Karen Allen will also make a cameo in the movie as his wife Marion Ravenwood.
Though Allen has not been featured in the trailers for the movie, Ravenwood’s rekindled relationship with the swashbuckling hero in 2008’s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has not been forgotten. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Allen expressed a “sense of gratitude” for playing the character for a third time, though she wishes her role was more of “part of the adventure” in the movie.
“She’s such a vibrant, wonderful character, and it would’ve broken my heart to see her just vanish into the ether,” Allen said.

While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny marks Harrison Ford’s final performance as Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr., the franchise may continue with another character leading future expeditions into the unknown. I’m talking about Indy’s goddaughter, Helena Shaw. Phoebe Waller-Bridge brings the character to life in the James Mangold-directed sequel. From what I’ve heard, Helena is a highlight of the new film, and the franchise’s future could rest in her capable hands. In a recent interview with Variety, producer Kathleen Kennedy says it’s “entirely possible” for Waller-Bridge to continue the brand.
Speaking with Variety about the new film, its mixed reception, and the franchise’s future, Mangold becomes visibly excited when the outlet broaches the topic of Helena Shaw. Mangold says he and the Butterworths (Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth) wrote the character specifically for Waller-Bridge, including elements of what made...

The maestro John Williams conducted a surprise orchestral performance of the Indiana Jones theme song at the Hollywood premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on Wednesday night.
Steven Spielberg was on hand to introduce the film. After recognizing Indiana Jones creator George Lucas and star Harrison Ford, he moved on to “the person who is the glue to all five of these films, who gave us all of our rhythm and all of our melody.” The curtain then rose to reveal the 91-year-old Williams and a full orchestra.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters on June 30th. Along with a de-aged Harrison Ford, the film stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Oliver Richters, and Ethann Isidore. James Mangold helmed the film, becoming the first person other than Spielberg to direct an installment of the franchise.

Harrison Ford is happy with how the de-aging technology worked in his latest “Indiana Jones” film.
The 80-year-old actor, director James Mangold and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” costars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Boyd Holbrook sat with SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle in an interview posted Tuesday in which they were asked about the de-aged sequence towards the start of the film.
“Well it was fun for me to see how well it worked because I feel very strongly that it’s the best example of de-aging, if you will, that we’ve seen yet,” Ford told the SiriusXM host. “It’s not a photoshopping kind of thing, it really is my face from 40 years ago.”
The actor added that he was “gratified that it worked” because it was an impactful narrative device for his fifth and final outing as Indiana Jones.

Harrison Ford’s final performance as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny could be looking at an underwhelming box office when the film opens exclusively in theaters on June 30. Analysts predict a $60 million to $70 million take for the fifth and final Indiana Jones film over a five-day holiday opening. While $60M would be a reason to celebrate for most movies, the Indiana Jones franchise carries a legacy that could warrant more of a return for Ford’s farewell performance as the intrepid archaeologist.
Dial of Destiny‘s 3-day opening is down from the $100.1M opening for 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, often hailed as the worst film in the franchise. It’s impressive enough that Harrison Ford decided to take on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in any capacity, but the octogenarian isn’t letting his age get in the way of an authentic performance. In fact, the 80-year-old actor is embracing it, going so far as to tell the film’s stunt team to “leave [him] the fuck alone,” as he recalled in a new interview with Esquire.
The scene in question involves Indy traversing the streets of 1969 New York City on horseback, through a crowded parade celebrating the moon landing. When the cameras cut, Ford felt a few pairs of hands spotting him from behind as he was about to get off the horse.
“I thought, ‘What the fuck?’ Like I was being attacked by gropers. I look down and there’s three stunt guys there making sure I didn’t fall off the stirrup,” Ford said.

Cannes, May 20 (Ians) Cate Blanchett kicked off her stilettos on Friday night (local time) as she took the stage at the Cannes Film Festival party hosted by Variety and the Golden Globes, reports ‘Variety’.
Because this is Cannes, where women are mandated to wear heels on the red carpet, shoes have become a political symbol on the French Riviera.
And indeed, in this case, as ‘Variety’ reports, Blanchett went barefoot to make a statement: to stand in solidarity with the women of Iran.
The A-list actor, on hand to present ‘Holy Spider’ star Zahra Amir Ebrahim with a breakthrough artiste’s award, grabbed the trophy and joked: “This is to stab everyone who stands in the way of women’s rights. Up the vajayjay!” ‘Vajayjay’, incidentally, is the jocular expression for ‘vagina’.
In her remarks, an emotional Ebrahimi called attention to her home country Iran, which is “executing innocent people”.

The initial reactions to “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” out of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival have made landfall, and critics are calling the movie a fitting end to the beloved franchise – or at least Harrison Ford’s part in it.
“Indy 5’s” official synopsis reads:
Daredevil archaeologist Indiana Jones races against time to retrieve a legendary dial that can change the course of history. Accompanied by his goddaughter, he soon finds himself squaring off against Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi who works for NASA.
On his fifth outing as “one of cinema’s greatest heroes” – and the first not directed by Steven Spielberg – Ford is joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Mads Mikkelsen (“Another Round”), Boyd Holbrook (“Narcos”), Shaunette Renée Wilson (“Billions”), Toby Jones (“In Cold Blood”), Antonio Banderas (“Pain and Glory”) and newcomer Ethann Isidore. Mottram calls Mikkelsen’s Wernher von Braun-inspired Nazi rocket scientist the best...

"I feel confident that we're gonna knock their socks off!" Lucasfilm has unveiled a joyous new featurette for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which just had its premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival yesterday. The film will be set in 1969 in the middle of the Space Race, with Harrison Ford back as Indy. Meanwhile, Voller, a NASA member and ex-Nazi involved with the Moon-landing program, wants to "rectify the world and make it into a better place as he sees fit." Along with Ford, Dial of Destiny stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Helena, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Toby Jones, with Antonio Banderas, and John Rhys-Davies. This movie is a blast!! I just watched it this morning and it delivered everything I wanted from this continuation. There's not much to this new featurette, and they're not going to give away anything in any new footage.

“Indescribable.”
That’s how Harrison Ford described the world premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in Cannes on Thursday night and a special career tribute — and a surprise honorary Palme d’Or — that he received prior to the hot ticket screening at the Palais.
Speaking at the press conference the star said it was “extraordinary” to see highlights of his lengthy and celebrated career relayed on screen in such a manner. “The warmth of this place, and the sense of community…the welcome is just unimaginable. And it makes me feel good.”
In a delightfully upbeat, jovial and at-times emotional meeting with the press, the non-Ford cast — including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Mads Mikkelsen, Ethann Isidore and Shaunette Renee Wilson — all waxed lyrical about getting the opportunity to appear alongside Ford in an Indiana Jones movie. Several friendly jibes were, however, made about Ford’s age...

“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” stars Harrison Ford in his final performance as the swashbuckling fedora-wearing adventurer, a legendary role he’s played in five films across 40 years. But he says he is officially ready to retire the character.
“Is it not evident?” the 80-year-old actor joked at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday’s press conference for the action-adventure. “I need to sit down and rest a little bit.”
In returning to the character for one last time, Ford expressed a desire to see “a completion of the five films.” He added, “I wanted to see the weight of life on him. I wanted to see him require reinvention. I wanted him to have a relationship that wasn’t a flirty movie relationship.”
He’s referring to the character played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who plays the plucky goddaughter of Indiana Jones. She, too, was happy to play...
