Stories began to circulate on Wednesday that Amazon’s free ad-supported streaming service would be shut down in coming months.
There may be reason to pump the breaks on reports that Amazon is sunsetting Freevee. An exclusive report from Ad Week laid out details that indicated that Amazon planned to shut down its free ad-supported streaming platform, but Vulture’s West Coast editor Josef Adalian was first to report that he had received word from Amazon representatives that no such changes were in the offing for the service. The Streamable was able to confirm Vulture’s reporting as an Amazon representative said, “There are no changes to Freevee.”
Amazon’s reps indicate that there are no plans to shut down Freevee in 2024. The desire by Amazon to build its ads business would seem to indicate it’s better off keeping Freevee in some form. The Streamable has confirmed that Freevee...

Late last night, social media users discovered something disturbing on Max‘s servers, or more accurately: discovered the absence of something on Max’s servers that disturbed them.
HBO‘s hallmark 2019 miniseries Watchmen was missing. For roughly an hour, various accounts on Twitter posted screenshots of searches for “Watchmen” that yielded nothing but Zack Snyder’s 2009 film adaptation and a motion comic version of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s seminal graphic novel from the 1980s.
Tick tock. Time to change the Twitter bio @watchmen. Apparently HBO Max wiped the Watchmen show from the platform today. Absolutely embarrassing. Get fucked Max. pic.twitter.com/AvFNdmrArR
— Nando (@NandovMovies) December 12, 2023
For most onlookers, there was never a question of whether Watchmen had deliberately booted from Max or not. Of course it had. Despite the series being an enormous success for Warner Bros. Discovery’s pay cable network HBO and also being based on another Wbd-owned legendary comic,...

Grocery list, to-do list, honey-do list, Christmas list; everybody loves a good list. Now, Hulu users are getting a list of their own. On Thursday, the Disney-owned streaming service unveiled its new “Top 15 Today” list across all TV, desktop, and mobile devices. The streamer follows in the footsteps of Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max, which introduced its own top-10 list just two weeks ago. These types of lists have long been a favorite feature on Netflix and other streaming platforms.
30-Day Free Trial $7.99+ / month hulu.com
First reported by Vulture's Josef Adalian, Hulu’s list will differ slightly from most of its competitors’ as it will factor in both how many people are watching a title that day, as well as its general popularity across the platform, according to a Hulu source.
“The point of top 15 is not to present a historical record of each day’s most-watched title,...

The March 29 launch of CNN+ came with an early-bird special: “Save 50 Percent for Life.” For subscribers joining in its first week and the three thereafter, it will halve the regular monthly price from 5.99 to 2.99, with this month’s subscribers retaining the lower price forever. That generous discount can’t hide a discomfiting fact: Whether paying 6 per month, 3 per month, or 60 per year (which currently looks like a fool’s deal), the CNN+ name is something of a misnomer when it doesn’t offer much in the way of actual CNN.
The CNN+ sign-up page boasts “live news coverage and exclusive reporting,” “on-demand original series and films,” and “up to 12 live daily and weekly shows each day,” but what CNN+ does not have is a live feed of the CNN cable channel. You can only digitally consume CNN proper the same way you always did: with a traditional cable television subscription that includes the linear channel.

HBO and “Game Of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss quickly came under fire on Wednesday, July 19 after the announcement of their new television drama series, “Confederate.” The series will imagine an alternate American timeline in which a third Civil War has changed the fabric and landscape of the United States. Per the official announcement, the alternate timeline will include southern states that have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution.
