Eldar Tagi (b. 1987) is a music producer and composer based in Los Angeles, CA. Eldar grew up in the post-Soviet Kazakhstan and got involved with music at an early age. While playing in numerous bands Eldar developed a strong taste for adventurous and experimental music. In 2008 Tagi started working at the music studio at the historic Kazakhfilm facility. During that time Eldar was mostly developing live performances and collaborated with local artists.
In 2009 Tagi moved to Los Angeles for in-depth studies of guitar and music production and to expand his network. In Los Angeles, Eldar started heavily experimenting with electronics, computer music, and synthesizers. In 2013 Eldar co-wrote and produced a credit track "Ghost in My Head" for the film "Unfriended" produced by Timur Bekmambetov and Blumhouse Films. In 2015 he co-wrote the track "Caustic" by Macro/micro that was used in one of the key action scenes in the film "Hardcore Henry" written and directed by Ilya Naishuller. The same year Tagi was offered a position of the lead music supervisor and composer/producer for the Russian fantasy blockbuster "Dragon: Love is A Scary Tale" directed by Indar Djendubayev and produced by Timur Bekmambetov from Bazelevs production. Parallel to film work, Eldar composes and produces ambient, industrial and experimental music with audio-visual project the2vvo. Long evolving ambient improvisations caught the attention of the documentary film director Katerina Suvorova, which led to Eldar composing music for her film "Sea Tomorrow" in 2016.
