There are few stories that have come out of Marvel that are as influential as Old Man Logan. There is no doubt, that the company has some of superhero fiction’s greatest stories, but few have the caliber and the complexity of a piece like Old Man Logan, which follows an elderly Wolverine, who has given up the use of his claws after he was tricked into killing the X-Men and other mutants in Xavier’s Institute.
James Mangold directed Logan (2017) | Fox Studios
The comic book served as inspiration (in part) for 2017’s Logan, which saw Hugh Jackman essay the role of Fox’s version of Wolverine for the final time. The book has some of Logan’s most violent moments, one of which shows how far Logan can go even without using his claws. Washington State’s Republican Party approved a resolution calling for the repeal of the 17th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which allowed for the direct election of U.S. Senators.
The Amendment was ratified on April 8, 1913. It overrode the Constitution’s provision allowing state legislatures to pick U.S. senators.
The resolution approved at the Washington State GOP convention states that “the Founding Fathers came to a great compromise at the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and provided for proportional representation of the people in the House of Representatives of the United States and equal representation for each independent state in the Senate of the United States.”
The document noted that “the selection of the United States Senators by the state legislatures was the political mechanism against congressional encroachment into the sovereignty of the states.”

Chris Evans first played Steve Rogers in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and, after multiple appearances across the MCU (including in the Avengers and Spider-Man franchises), the actor finally bid farewell to the role in Avengers: Endgame.
Steve has been M.I.A. ever since, though his final fate still hasn't been revealed to us. However, with the Multiverse in play, there are endless possibilities regarding Captain America's return in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Over the weekend, it was reported that Evans is now a lock for that movie. While we anticipate him assembling alongside the other original six Avengers as the "classic" Cap, we'd bet on the actor playing a few different Variants as well.
Below, you'll find some of the most exciting, intriguing, and likely possibilities...

The 34-year-old British actor Nicholas Hoult kicked off production last week on Warner Bros. Discovery’s next big bet: “Superman” with director James Gunn and actors David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. The star of “About a Boy,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and Hulu series “The Great” recently went on Michael Rosenbaum’s “Inside of You” podcast and talked a bit about preparing for the role of the evil mastermind Lex Luthor.
First, he complimented his new boss Gunn for making the audition process fun. He said he enjoyed the “Guardians of the Galaxy” auteur’s method of “try[ing] things in the moment, just shouting out from the monitors, ‘Say this line. Do this! Do that!’”
Then he added that even though Luthor is better known for his brains rather than his brawn, Hoult has been hitting the weights. “There’s that bit in ‘All-Star Superman’ [the Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely...

Throughout the five years in which Lyndon B. Johnson was the President of the United States, his First Lady––Claudia Alta “Lady Bird” Johnson––took note of everything. The Lady Bird Diaries, directed by Dawn Porter, is built on archival photo and video as well as audio from Lady Bird herself. For the duration of the Johnson Administration, Mrs. Johnson recorded 123 hours of audible diary entries. From these revealing documents, Porter forms a sympathetic yet clear-eyed portrait of a compassionate woman in an extraordinary position.
Based on Julia E. Sweig’s biography Lady Bird Johnson: Hiding in Plain Sight and the podcast In Plain Sight: Lady Bird Johnson, The Lady Bird Diaries opens on November 22nd, 1963 in Dallas. “It all began so beautifully…,” Lady Bird recalls. The immediate aftermath of the JFK Assassination is described in great detail by the new First Lady, thrust into a role she was never eager to play.

The thing I've loved the most about Chucky since its series premiere is its ability to raise the stakes and deliver unpredictable twists that shake up the narrative.
Chucky Season 3 Episode 2 lost sight of that, possibly for good, delivering an infuriating hour rather than entertaining.
Miss. Fairchild was wrongly framed for murders on Chucky Season 1, forever tarnishing her reputation.
Despite her apprehension about joining this mission to take down Chucky, she understood the risks of the doll being back on the loose.
Devon, Jake, and Lexy were under her care, so the last thing she wanted was for either of them to get hurt by going to the White House.
It's maddening that she agreed to go to the White House and even more so that she was interested in immersing the kids in life there.
The best-case scenario would have been to alert the authorities. As unlikely as it...

Following an intense day of media coverage surrounding Donald Trump’s arraignment in New York City Tuesday, “Last Word” host Lawrence O’Donnell was left gobsmacked while discussing the former president’s social media harassment of Manhattan Da Alvin Bragg and his wife, Jamila Ponton Bragg.
“Not in the entire history of the island of Manhattan has that ever happened,” O’Donnell said of the Truth Social posts calling out Ponton Bragg as, among other things, a “Trump Hating Wife.”
“No mafia boss – no one – has ever done that.”
The post in question came on Saturday, April 1, three days ahead of the proceedings in NYC.

“Thoughts and Prayers,” an emotional short film that debuted at Hollyshorts Film Festival and made its rounds at numerous festivals, is now available for global audiences to watch for the first time, exclusively on Variety. The movie was helmed by Evan Miller, who directed, produced and co-wrote the script with Hardy Janson.
Zachary Levi and Adrianne Palicki star in the film and also serve as producers alongside John Trefry and the co-founders of the Atx Television Festival, Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson.
Per the official logline, “A powerful United States Senator lives out every American parent’s worst nightmare when she receives a call from her teenage son and talks him through the horror of an active school shooting as she desperately makes her way to him, unsure of what she’ll find once she arrives.”

When we next see Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’ll have a new gig, and it’s a mighty impressive one. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige spoke with Entertainment Weekly about all things Marvel earlier today, and while talking about Captain America: New World Order, he mentioned that Ross will be the President of the United States in the movie.
“This is certainly a big part for Thaddeus Ross,” Kevin Feige said. “He’s the president of the United States in the film. And with Harrison, you think about Air Force One, and you think about some of his confrontations with the president in Clear and Present Danger. There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is just incredible.

On A Recent “Weekend Update” segment for Saturday Night Live, Michael Che relayed the news that Ronna McDaniel had just won a close reelection as chair of the Republican National Committee. He then ran down the list of McDaniel’s failed challengers, including some real ones (MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell) and a few joke picks (Kevin Sorbo, Kyle Rittenhouse). Among the latter was “Twitter user @CAT_TURD_2.”
That mention got a big laugh. To most, it probably sounded like a throwaway gag: the writers inventing a crass, right-wing internet troll...

Director James Gray based his new movie "Armageddon Time" on a true story about his youth growing up in Queens in 1980 in a Jewish family. In the new film, Paul (Banks Repeta) is a teenage boy who dreams of being an artist in a family that mostly doesn't understand him. When he gets in trouble at public school alongside his friend Johnny (Jaylin Webb), who's black, his parents (played by Jeremy Strong and Anne Hathaway) transfer him to an elite private school. As Paul's school tries to indoctrinate him into an upper class, capitalist mindset, his grandfather (Anthony Hopkins) tries to remind him to be a good person. All of this takes place with Ronald Reagan's election looming in the backdrop. The movie's title even comes from a Reagan quote: "We might be the generation that sees Armageddon" the then-presidential candidate said during a 1979 interview. Armageddon in the New...

This post contains spoilers for episode 8 of "Andor."
The heist on Aldhani is having ripple effects on "Andor," and even the wealthiest individuals in the "Star Wars" universe are starting to take notice. After last week's episode ended with Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) being sentenced to six years in prison for little more than looking over his shoulder, the show's eighth episode, "Narkina 5," follows the Rebel-in-the-making as he's taken to one of several Imperial facilities on the titular world. Elsewhere, Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) once again finds herself stuck having to mingle with the other members of high society on Coruscant, which leads to a rather interesting conversation that rings all too familiar.
We've written before about how "Andor" wears its politics on its sleeve more than the other live-action "Star Wars" series, in ways that feel all-too-real for anyone who's been tuning in since, well, September 11, 2001 (if not earlier...

The Better Angels Society, the Library of Congress and the Crimson Lion/Lavine Family Foundation have set two winners of the fourth annual Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film: director Jeff L. Lieberman’s Bella! and Philly on Fire, directed by Ross Hockrow and Tommy Walker. This is the first time that the selection process for the coveted documentary award has resulted in a tie.
Bella! tells the story of former United States Representative Bella Abzug, a feminist and civil rights advocate, who took on a Washington establishment resistant to change and sacrificed her own political ambitions for future generations of female leadership.
Philly on Fire chronicles the 1985 Philadelphia police bombing of a row house, which burned down an entire neighborhood — killing 11 people, including five children, destroying 61 homes and rendering 250 people homeless.

On Thursday’s “The Tonight Show,” host Jimmy Fallon had a string of jokes that showed just how baffling a claim it is that Donald Trump could declassify documents just by thinking about it, as the former president told Sean Hannity in a now-viral interview Wednesday. This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Rick and Morty" season 6.
The latest episode of "Rick and Morty" is filled with callbacks to season 2. The most obvious one, of course, is the VR videogame "Roy," which Morty was introduced to in the 2015 episode "Mortynight Run."
"Roy" is such a memorable callback because of the way the show introduced it to us: Without much explanation, Rick throws a helmet onto Morty, and then we cut to a little kid named Roy waking up at night from a bad dream. He vaguely remembers an "old man" in the dream, but quickly forgets about it and moves on with his life. We see the kid grow up, fall in love, get married, have kids, get cancer, survive cancer, and live what feels like a very full 55 years before dying in an accident at the carpet store where he works.
That's when the game ends,...

After about a five-year hiatus and a couple of delays, the Saints Row series has finally returned. With developer Volition still at the series’ helm and no new GTA game in sight, you may think that this is the perfect time for the Saints Row franchise to assert itself in the modern era, welcome back old fans, and possibly win some new ones.
However, the early reactions to 2022’s Saints Row have ranged from “mixed” to “downright hostile.” What should have easily been one of the year’s biggest games is now the subject of widespread fan backlash. As is so often the case with divisive pieces of popular media in the internet age, the discourse surrounding Saints Row spread so quickly that it can be difficult to understand what the whole thing is really about.
