Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella, has been on an emotional journey as she recovers from her medulloblastoma diagnosis last year.
Earlier this year, she revealed the diagnosis alongside her father as Robin Roberts interviewed them on Good Morning America.
She’d been attending the University of Southern California but continued experiencing headaches with worsening symptoms, prompting her family to get her checked out by medical professionals.
Isabella’s medulloblastoma diagnosis resulted in surgery to remove her brain cancer tumor, followed by rehabilitation, medical tests, and various procedures.
Several weeks ago, she was in the hospital and revealed an emergency surgery she had amid her chemotherapy treatments.
In a recent vlog, Isabella shed tears over her latest health update and explained why she was crying to viewers.

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and the developers have been keeping a steady flow of updates coming ever since. A while back, we heard a new killer character, a new victim character (with the voice and likeness of genre icon Barbara Crampton!), and a new map called The Mill (which brings to mind a location from the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake) would be added to the game soon – and now we know exactly when The Mill will be available for players to enjoy: March 28th!
The date announcement was made on X, where it was revealed that The Mill will allow players to “scramble up multiple floors, traverse through a Ghost Town, or sneak around a dry river bed.”

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and it has been frequently updated since then. A couple weeks ago, it was revealed that a new character portrayed by genre icon Barbara Crampton is being added to the game in an upcoming update – and now details on the character have been unearthed on the game’s official website! The character with Crampton’s voice and likeness is a Victim character named Virginia.
Here are the details: Virginia is a grief-stricken mother who cannot get over the disappearance of her son Jesse. She’s obsessive over his vanishing and refuses to believe that he could be gone. The weight of her pain is so immense she leaves behind her nursing career to move to Newt, TX, the last location Jesse was seen.

Originally teased last month, horror legend Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, You’re Next, Jakob’s Wife) is joining The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as a brand new character named Virginia, and Gun Interactive has provided much more info on the character today.
Barbara Crampton is no stranger to the world of horror video games, having recently voiced a character in Back 4 Blood. But this will be the first time Crampton has made her presence known in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre franchise, which is extremely cool for fans.
For starters, Barbara Crampton’s Virginia is a Victim character, and the character will not only feature a dead-on likeness but will also be voiced by Crampton herself!

New horror movies are headed to Shudder next month, including horror anthology Satanic Hispanics and tense Australian horror movie You’ll Never Find Me. And that doesn’t even touch on the repertory additions, including rare ’90s gem Ghostwatch.

I’ve only played a few video games over the last twenty years, primarily Halo online multiplayer and the recent Friday the 13th game that was hindered by lawsuits… and gaming sure is different these days than it was in my time, when a game was released in its complete form and then you just played the hell out of it. Now, if a game doesn’t get very frequent updates, players will abandon it very quickly. For example, the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was just released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and even though it was updated a new map and a couple new characters at the end of November, I’ve already seen gamers complaining that it’s getting stale and will be pronounced dead if there isn’t another update soon.

Throughout his career, Hong Kong director Lawrence Ah Mon has told numerous stories about the disenfranchised in Hk society. Considering most of his colleagues focused on genres such as thriller and action, his features stand out as they give the viewer an idea of the way issues such as the shift between generations, youth culture and the feelings of teenage angst and isolation are experienced in Hk culture. Perhaps one of the most noteworthy examples of his filmography is “Spacked Out” from 2000, a feature which was honored with as “Film of Merit” by the Hong Kong Film Critics in 2001 and has recently been restored so that audiences worldwide have the chance to experience this story one more time or maybe even for the first time.

Almost 25 years later, Spacked Out, a coming-of-age social drama by Lawrence Ah-Mon, still feels as fresh, insightful, and provocative as it did when it was released just a few years after Hong Kong’s reunification with mainland China. A clear-eyed, sympathetic perspective that is empathetic toward the rebellious teens at the center of his complex, layered film, Spacked Out all but demands rediscovery and reappraisal by audiences eager to explore a different side of Hong Kong cinema. Ah-Mon identifies his central quartet via nicknames -- Cookie (Kit Man Tam), Sissy (Wing Yin Cheung), Banana (Man Sze Au), and Bean Curd (Maggie Poon) -- they've given themselves. The slightest in terms of stature. and at least by personal experience...

Playing as the Family in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre arguably entails a steeper learning curve than playing as the Victims. Many will argue that matches are tipped in favor of the Family, and that they’re given more tools to wreak havoc on the Victims than Victims have to escape. However, it takes time, trial and error, and team synergy to best utilize those tools–otherwise, Victims will literally run circles around you as they escape. As such, here are the best tips that I can impart after my many successes (and failures) while playing as the Family.
Your Top Priority Should Always Be to Protect Objectives and Secure the Property
I know you may be thinking–my top priority should be to kill the Victims! But ultimately, the one thing that will prevent you from getting the Victims is an escape route opening up. The moment that a fuse-box is opened,...

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham was released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One back on August 18th, and at the end of last month they added not just a new map (free to all players), but also a couple of new characters that players have to pay to access: a victim named Danny and a killer named Nancy. The motion-capture and vocal performances for Nancy were provided by BAFTA winner Cissy Jones, whose previous credits include the most recent Evil Dead video game. A newly released promo video shows exactly how Jones brought Nancy to life, and you can check it out at the bottom of this article.

While The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has had several updates and patches since its August 18th release, Gun Interactive recently implemented its first significant content update, boasting a variety of changes including new characters, a new map, and significant tweaks to gameplay. If you haven’t already picked a copy of the game up, there’s no better time to than now, and if you’ve already been playing, get ready to recalibrate your strategies, as the update provides some pretty substantial changes to the dynamic of the game across the board.
The most noteworthy aspect of the update is Nancy’s House, a brand new map that takes place at the home of the Family’s newcomer, Nancy Sawyer. As a first taste of what to expect of future maps outside of the original three, Nancy’s House is a refreshing change of pace for both The Family and the Survivors.

Strange and unsettling, Amanda Kramer’s depiction of a TV entertainer’s descent is intriguing and amusing, with Sophie von Haselberg the multi-tasking star
Musician turned film-maker Amanda Kramer gave us a retro campy reverie of queer longing in her previous feature Please Baby Please which, though interesting, was oddly unsatisfying and insubstantial. This works much better: a genuinely strange and unsettling creation whose meaning and form can’t quite be pinned down.
It appears to be an imaginary standalone primetime US TV special which went out in some alternative dream-universe between 1975 and 1985; it is centred on one particular star, a brassy, heart-on-sleeve song-and-dance performer called Sissy St Claire, played by Sophie von Haselberg. She does musical numbers, elaborate costume changes, dance routines, goofy comedy sketches, all in the cause of entertainment. Sissy looks like a cross between Barbra Streisand and Bette Midler (Von Haselberg is in fact Midler’s...

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre series has always been my favorite horror franchise, with every single one of these gnarly films boasting at least one unique (or absolutely bonkers) element even when the filmmakers stumble over garbled timelines and confusing retcons. That being said, fans of the original film are likely aware that the homicidal Leatherface was never actually meant to be a traditional slasher icon, with this child-like brute simply fulfilling a violent role that was thrust upon him by the real antagonist of the film – family.
Unfortunately, with the exception of Tobe Hooper’s underrated 1986 sequel, every subsequent entry in the series would continue to focus more on Leatherface as a cold-blooded murderer rather than the maniacal family that raised him. That’s not to say that the sequels didn’t present us with memorable additions to the extended clan (I’ll always be partial to Matthew McConaughey...

Later we learned the names of the other mo-cap performers: Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs) as The Hitch-hiker; Troy Burgess (Swedish Dicks) as The Cook; Kristina Klebe (Don’t Kill It) as new killer character Sissy; Dove Meir (Dig) as new killer character Johnny; Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), did the mo-cap for all of the female victim characters; and Hunter C. The events of director Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (watch it Here) took place on August 18, 1973. Today marks the fiftieth anniversary of those events, and Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham are celebrating in the best way possible: by releasing their new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One! With launch day comes the unveiling of a new trailer for the game, and you can check that out in the embed above.
Matches of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game pit 4 victim characters against 3 killer characters. The story of the game has the following set-up: When Maria Flores went missing, and local law enforcement seemed to stall out in their search, her younger sister Ana teamed up with some of Maria’s friends from college to pick up the trail. The game takes place before the events of the original film.

Coming to us from Gun Interactive (developer of the Friday the 13th game) and Sumo Digital - Nottingham, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game manages to appeal to so many, with very little variety. Oddly, the lack of variation is okay. At least for now, I can’t stop playing it. Playing this game is like playing a very dangerous version of Manhunt or Hide and Seek with your neighbors when you were a kid - just add in a few deranged psychopaths and a chainsaw.
Before you even jump into a match, you are graced with an eerie narration of a bit of history regarding the horrors that are to come. That, paired with the music and art of the homescreen, impeccably prepares you for the type of game you are about to load into. Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a celebration of its namesake’s franchise in more ways than one. For starters, eagle eyed fans will have noticed that its upcoming release date, August 18th, is the 50th anniversary of the events that take place in its inaugural film. You don’t need me to tell you the extent of Texas’ impact on the slasher genre and horror as a whole since then–its slew of sequels, the prominence of Leatherface, the entire population of chainsaw wielding scare actors in haunted attractions–speaks for itself. With that being said, Gun had big shoes to fill. But play one match of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and it’s plain to see: Gun was up to the task of doing the franchise justice in a fresh, unique way.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham is set to be released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on August 18th. The perfect date, since director Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (watch it Here) was set on August 18, 1973. The social media profiles for the game have given us the heads-up that outlets are going to start taking pre-orders for physical copies of the game soon (for the suggested price of $39.99) – and they have also posted clips of gameplay that show us the special skills that can be used by the killer characters Johnny and Sissy.
While the game features the homicidal characters from the original Chainsaw film, newly created characters Johnny and Sissy were also added into the mix to give players more options.
Matches of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game will pit 4 victim characters against 3 killer characters.

Big Freedia, the New Orleans bounce icon, is back with a new song, “Bigfoot,” which will appear on her first proper album in nine years, Central City, out June 23 via Queen Diva Music.
“Bigfoot” makes for a booming announcement as Freedia stomps all over the competition and delirious, speaker-rattling beat. “Call me Bigfoot stepping on these bitches necks,” Freedia declares on the hook, “I got a big foot but I’m getting bigger checks/They don’t see what’s coming next/You already know the rest/I got a...

When the curtain rises on Sissy St. Clare's Saturday night television special — the one she has desperately coveted for so long now — she's frank with the audience about the realities of "making it." It's no easy feat, but a girl like her isn't going to stop for anything. As her wide-eyed, brightly smiling optimism bleeds through the show's catchy opening number "I'm Making It" — punctuated by the repeated lyric "Going straight to your heart on demand!" — she tells the audience that she has so much planned for them, including stakes that go "higher and higher and higher." It tapers off and she launches into a monologue that becomes a covenant with the audience, promising them that the special won't end until she's "bashed in" and "begging each and every one of you to set me free."
As she moves back into the happy-go-lucky world of dancing and singing and "making it,...

Last month, the developers of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game, coming our way from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham, shared a behind-the-scenes video that gave a look at the mocap sessions where genre icon Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood) provided the performance of Leatherface – and his fellow cast members provided the performances of the other killers and the group of victims. Now another behind-the-scenes video has arrived online, and this one shows what went into the recording of the chainsaw sounds for the game. You can watch that video at the bottom of this article.

The developers revealed,

Writer-director Tyler Perry has been living with the screenplay for “A Jazzman’s Blues” for 27 years, longer than it takes most kids to grow up and move out of the house. Inspired by a chance meeting between Perry and playwright August Wilson in 1995, You can’t keep a good melodrama down.
A glowingly lensed Jim Crow-era drama, “Jazzman’s” not unlike “Green Book” or “The Help” — absent the pandering to white audiences’ anxiety about being (to paraphrase a meme) the baddies in this situation. There is one sympathetic white character, Holocaust survivor Ira (Ryan Eggold); his German accent is as exaggerated as the rest of the cast’s Southern drawls. But while the same folks who liked “Green Book” will likely enjoy “A Jazzman’s Blues,” Perry puts Black life in rural Georgia in the 1930s and ‘40s at the center of his story — no white intermediaries required.

A social media influencer unravels when she accidentally meets her childhood bully in this blackly comic horror, co-written and co-directed by Australian husband-and-wife filmmakers Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes. With a thematically rich, genre-savvy script, some delightfully nasty gore moments and a terrific central performance from Aisha Dee, this is one of the best horror movies of the year.
Sissy centres on Cecilia (Dee), who used to be called Sissy at school, where she was the target of bullying. Now in her early 20s, Cecilia has reinvented herself as a social media influencer, offering self-help advice and mental health tips. However, there are hints that Cecilia’s life isn’t quite as together as she likes to make out, at least if the off-camera state of her apartment is anything to go by.

On paper, Paul Schrader’s latest, Master Gardener, has all the elements to be a continuation of the writer-director’s recent renaissance with First Reformed and The Card Counter. Another solitary man tormented by a violent past seeks regeneration, penning detailed journals about the obsession — in this case, horticulture — that keeps his darkest thoughts at bay. Joel Edgerton’s haunted central performance as former white supremacist Narvel Roth fits the essential Schrader mold of a troubled soul hiding from his demons. But little else rings true in a drama curiously lacking in texture, which misses the mark in lifeless scene after scene.
The film premieres out of competition in Venice in conjunction with Schrader receiving the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, an honor fully earned with a distinguished body of work going back almost 50 years. However, this is one of his weaker efforts,...

There’s some delicate subject matter at the heart of Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes’ Sissy. It’s unavoidable when you’re spring-boarding from an objectively tragic event that occurred during childhood. While young Sissy may have been the one who physically assaulted Alex when they were age twelve, that isolated and impulsive act of violence was ignited by months or years of psychological torment inflicted by the injured. Does the event make Sissy a monster regardless of those circumstances? Or can society look beyond the visual aftermath and see the invisible pain that drove her to do what she did? Is Sissy still the good person she believes she is or a villain—a “psychopath”—that Alex will justifiably never forgive? The filmmakers daringly choose a bit of both.
Herein lies the problem: allowing us to even think Cecilia is a psychopath provides unfortunate implications. It absolves Alex (Emily De Margheriti...

Utopia has acquired the North American rights to Amanda Kramer’s “Give Me Pity!” ahead of the musical comedy’s North American premiere at Fantasia Film Festival.
“Give Me Pity!” follows a Saturday Night variety show host who slowly unravels on screen in what Kramer has called “an untamed and intimate portrayal of diva culture, female vanity, created persona, and the prisms of fame.”
The film enjoys its North American premiere at genre fest Fantasia in Montreal, Canada, on Friday. Utopia has set an early 2023 release for the pic, and has partnered with boutique agency Aspect Ratio for a special distribution roll-out. Prior to the movie’s commercial release, Aspect Ratio will handle non-theatrical and specialty art venue bookings.

One of the most talked-about films at queer and horror festivals this year, and a clear favourite amongst filmmakers themselves, Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes’ Sissy is one of a number of works at the Fantasia International Film Festival which address the process of recovering from trauma, but none of the others does so with anything like as much gusto. A reversed perspective take on the slasher movies of the Eighties and Nineties, with a similarly vibrant colour palette, it gets to the nub of who cinematic villains so often start out as victims, and why many viewers root for them, while retaining full awareness of the horror of its title character’s actions.
‘Sissy’ is, in fact, the name she (Aisha Dee) was known by at school – both a shortened form of her real name and a taunt. These days she prefers to be known as Cecilia. She works.

In The Umbrella Academy’s third season, Viktor Hargreeves survives the end of the world — again. But for the first time, he’s doing it as his authentic self.
A character as tempered as he is explosive, Viktor (played by Elliot Page) spent the hit Netflix series’ first two seasons fighting to be seen by his siblings and father Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore). Those fights, both within himself and with those around him, played a different part in the end of two versions of the world.
