It’s officially “Bridgerton” Season, which means brushing up on all the gossip in the ton as the Netflix hit returns. Who fought, who won, who got married, and who will take a wife? All this and more will matter greatly when the Shondaland series premieres on May 16, with Part 2 due in June.
Season 3 will focus on the courtship of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) — a.k.a. Lady Whistledown, one of the slight complications in these two’s friends-to-lovers journey. Ahead of that, let’s revisit key Season 2 plot points that could play a key role in Season 3…
The Bridgertons
Scandal brushed the Bridgertons quite a bit in Season 2, between Anthony’s (Jonathan Bailey) broken engagement and Eloise’s (Claudia Jessie) tryst with a working class boy. Colin emerges as a surprising hero for sussing out the shady business of Jack Featherington (Rupert Young), but...

Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton entering into a unique arrangement, J.Lo fighting evil artificial intelligence, the roasting of an NFL legend, a retelling of the invention of the Pop Tart, Brooke Shields and Benjamin Bratt at war and John Mulaney’s six-night live comedy event from Los Angeles are some of the big titles hitting Netflix in May.
Debuting on May 3 is Jerry Seinfeld’s directorial debut, Unfrosted. The comedy legend works both sides of the camera for this humorous feature take on the birth of the Pop Tart. The movie is set in 1963 as breakfast cereal giants Kellogg’s and Post compete to become the first company to create a morning pastry. Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan and Amy Schumer also star, with Hugh Grant more than likely to steal the whole film with a turn as Tony the Tiger.

The eight-episode third season finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) having finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.

Polin season gets underway on Bridgerton when the series returns in May, and Netflix has dropped quite the teaser to tide us over.
We’re unsure whether the clip was released to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but before you get too excited, there’s a severe lack of romance. That isn’t very Bridgerton of you, Netflix.
Instead, we see Colin (Luke Newton) getting an icy reception from Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
The reason?
Penelope overheard the man she’d been pining for telling everyone he’d never court her.
So, she’s shocked when he dares to say he now misses her.
Penelope is done with Colin the Bridgerton Season 3 teaser
“You miss me, but you would never court me. Is that correct?” she wondered before telling him she had heard everything he said about her.
To her bewilderment, he wants to take the exchange away from the public’s prying eyes.

During the spoiler-free event, Rhimes said she’s most excited that this new season features a love story between characters we already know and root for. She also teased that a lot of characters will be finding themselves in new, interesting situations.
“Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen,” added Jess Brownell.

The third season finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) finally giving up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.
But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

The third season of the hit Shondaland series will have a new showrunner, with Jess Brownell taking over from creator Chris Van Dusen, and will focus on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) for what is sure to be the will-they-won’t-they romance talk of the ton. Ready for another rendezvous with the ton?
“Bridgerton” is returning to Netflix in 2024, with the third season of the period drama waltzing onto streaming in two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on May 16, and the next four will be available to stream on June 13.
Along with the announcement, Netflix released a video stitching together previously seen footage with TikToks and social media posts from fans eager to revisit the upper crust of Regency-era London.
The Shondaland series will jump right into Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) romance in Season 3, diverting from the Julia Quinn books it’s based on. Meanwhile, Penelope will have to deal with her rift with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), who, according to Netflix’s description, has found a new friend in an unlikely place. With a growing presence in the ton, Penelope is challenged with keeping her Lady Whistledown alter ego under wraps.

Bridgerton Season 3 will likely premiere on Netflix this year. The drama series is based on the romance and glamour of the 19th-century regency era in Britain. The show follows the upper-class Bridgerton siblings as they find love on the marriage market. Season 3 will center on the relationship between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
However, Colin must first win back Penleope’s friendship in season 3.

“There’s eight Bridgerton siblings so there are eight books. We are definitely planning on following each one of their romantic stories,” executive producer Shonda Rhimes told Entertainment Tonight. “We are not necessarily going in order.

Back in 2012 I saw Padraig Reynolds’ debut feature Rites of Spring at Glasgow Frightfest, then in 2015 I caught his film Worry Dolls – again at Frightfest. Unfortunately I missed last years Open 24 Hours, however I was determined to see Reynolds’ latest, Dark Light, on the big screen at Frightfest. Being a huge fan of those two aforementioned films there was no way I was passing up the chance to see yet another slice of Reynolds’ particular style of horror.
Such a shame then that Dark Light felt totally derivative of Devil’s Gate, whch played in the exact same screen as Reynolds’ film back at Frightfest in 2017…

"It sounds like there is someone inbetween the walls." Spotlight Pictures has debuted the first sales promo trailer for the sci-fi horror film Dark Light, from writer/director Padraig Reynolds. The film is currently being sold at the Efm and they're looking to find a distributor, in addition to a festival to debut this film at. Dark Light is a horror creature feature about some kind of monster (potentially an alien being?) that takes a young girl from her bedroom while at her mother's childhood farm home. She goes crazy trying to find her and figure out what happened, while attempting to convince police that an actual creature took her. Starring Jessica Madsen, Ed Brody, Opal Littleton, and Ben Sullivan. This looks scary as hell, including the typical cornfield trope, but still. I'm glad the trailer shows a glimpse of the monster because it looks gnarly. Here's the festival promo...

Zee Entertainment, one of India’s largest media groups, is making a committed foray into the English-language movie production business. The initiative is spearheaded by Dubai-based Shibani Kapur, Zee’s CEO of international production.
“We are targeting high-concept, low-budget films, in the genre space and with the kind of international cast that a company like Lionsgate or New Line would recognize,” Kapur told Variety. “We want these movies to travel.”
Kapur’s unit Zee Studios Intl. aims to deliver up to four films per year, made with budgets between $1 million-$5 million. It has completed its first two productions and is currently finishing a third.

Tobe Hooper’s 1974 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remains a seriously disturbing horror classic. There’s just something terrifying about the movie’s spooky, desperate nihilism and the way the villains pervert the traditional nuclear family. Honestly, I still get a bit uncomfortable thinking about that incredibly screwed up dinner scene.
Of course, the star of the pic is Leatherface, of lump-hammer bashing and chainsaw-wielding fame. The character’s one of horror’s enduringly iconic villains, but could we’ve been reading him wrong all this time? Could he, in fact, be a she?
That’s the fan theory going around online at the moment, which argues that the character behaves a lot like a traditional 1970s housewife. After all, we see ‘her’ preparing the family’s food, we can assume that ‘she’s’ in charge of the house’s grisly decor and we see ‘her’ applying lipstick and blusher...

Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury‘s Leatherface is yet another unique interpretation of Texas Chainsaw tonality. This is the beginnings of evil; a moody dive behind the monster’s mask. After The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 introduced a colorful misery, after roadkill grindhouse turned darkly comical, after 2003’s “gritty, dark reboot.” The filmmakers behind Inside, Livide and Among The Living use Seth M. Sherwood’s screenplay to explore what could drive one child to his slaughterhouse obsession – with mixed results. As a Southern-strong franchise entry, it’s certainly not the worst (cough – Texas Chainsaw 3D – cough). But as a Bustillo and Maury product? Well, let’s just say we’ve seen them be more aggressive, better inspired and vastly richer when developing human characteristics.
Sherwood’s tale opens on a celebratory gathering. Verna Sawyer (Lili Taylor) presents a young Jed Saywer (Boris Kabakchiev) with his first chainsaw. Happy birthday! Jed...

Halloween 2017 has been steeped in a very potent blend of nostalgia.
Not only is the second season of Stranger Things due to premiere via Netflix, but on the big screen, horror fans will be flocking to see Jigsaw and Leatherface, two very different continuations to two very different, yet equally terrifying franchises.
On the one hand, Jigsaw will begin a new murderous spiel on October 20th, with all signs pointing to John Kramer returning in some shape or form, whereas Leatherface is all about the origin story behind Tobe Hooper’s famous Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Widely considered to be one of the most influential horror films of the ’80s – if not all time – Julian Maury and Alexandre Bustillo’s nightmarish prequel is walking in the footsteps of greatness and today, we have a brand new clip for you to feast on ahead of the film’s imminent premiere. It’s not much,...

"The massacre begins..." Lionsgate has revealed a third official trailer for the horror prequel Leatherface, telling the origin of the evil man who would become known as "Leatherface". If you're still not sold on this horror, maybe one more trailer will do the trick? (I doubt it.) But fire it up anyway. This is the long-awaited prequel to Tobe Hooper's original horror classic, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre from 1974. Just incase you needed an origin story. In this film, Jessica Madsen plays one of four inmates from a mental hospital - the other three played by Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, and James Bloor. They kidnap a nurse, Vanessa Grasse, and take her on a "road trip from hell." The full cast also includes Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, and Julian Kostov. Still not into this at all, doesn't seem that interesting, but maybe that's just me. Enjoy. Here's the third...

Who will survive and, dare we say it, what will be left of them?
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of horror’s modern-day cornerstones, and it’s fair to say that, even after all these years, Tobe Hooper’s cult classic stands the test of time. Fast forward to the present day and, in light of Hooper’s recent death, there’s an air of bittersweet sorrow looming over Leatherface, Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo’s horror prequel due to rev up the family chainsaw next month.
Of course, we say bittersweet because although it’s sad to lose such a remarkable talent, in many ways Leatherface will hope to honor Hooper’s spine-chilling legacy. And the film’s new and indeed final poster has arrived just in time for release. Embedded below, it’s a decidedly chilling tease of what’s to come, and we can only assume...

This Halloween, prepare to witness the true origins of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
We are, of course, referring to Leatherface, Julian Maury and Alexandre Bustillo’s long-anticipated prequel that has taken on a greater meaning since the death of Tobe Hooper, a recognized mainstay of Hollywood’s horror genre thanks to his involvement in Poltergeist, Salem’s Lot and of course, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which spawned a million nightmares in 1974 with its tale of deranged cannibals residing in America’s Deep South.
Now, almost 45 years since its inception, Maury and Bustillo are prepped and ready to deliver a freaky origin story centering on one of cinema’s greatest movie monsters. Working from a script penned by Seth M. Sherwood, Leatherface is little over a month away from its limited theatrical release, and the folks over at Bloody Disgusting have relayed a creepy new poster to stoke the embers of excitement.
