Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black), Rob Collins (Cleverman), Callan Mulvey (Avengers: Endgame) and Shantae Barnes-Cowan (Operation Buffalo) will star in Firebite for AMC+.
The original series just entered production in South Australia, and has also added Tony Kravitz (The Tall Man) as director.

Billy Bowring has joined See-Saw Films as development producer at its Australian division after four years at Fremantle.
Reporting to executive producer Rachel Gardner and head of television Jamie Laurenson, he is primarily advancing TV projects but also working across the film slate.
Gardner says: “We wanted to work with someone who shares our taste, drive and ambition. Billy joins us with fantastic credentials and talent relationships and we are delighted to have him on board.”
As a development manager and development exec at Fremantle he was involved in such shows as Wentworth and Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Before that he was production assistant to Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen at the UK’s Number 9 Films, working across such films as Gerard Johnson’s London gangster thriller Hyena and Todd Haynes’ Carol starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (Aacta) has announced the five finalists for Aacta Pitch: Elevate, a national pitching competition aimed at discovering high-concept scripted series.
The finalists, chosen from almost 100 submissions, are: Endgame, My Mother the Witch, The 8, The Department of Last Requests and The Replicas.
In a statement, Aacta said the five finalists have been selected for their “unique interpretations of an elevated concept; each beginning with a simple premise and an unusual set of circumstances, while holding the potential for mass audience appeal and endless possibilities within the world for their series.”
Each finalist will pitch their concept live at the upcoming Aacta Shorts + Web Fest, in front of a judging panel that includes:
