Sebastien Basset is a French American screenwriter and producer. He began screenwriting in 2018 at age 19 and has written more than 19 spec screenplays and 33 stories and treatments since. He graduated magna cum laude in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media from the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his first short film "The Errant Knight" as part of a film directing course at UCLA. From 2016 to 2017, he worked as a policy intern for the Los Angeles City Council and, from 2015 to 2017, served on Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's Youth Council both as a member then as a mentor. In 2021 he began working in reality television, first as a production assistant then in 2023 as an associate producer. He attributes his primary writing inspiration to 20th Century transatlantic cinema and literature -- from novelist-screenwriters such as Raymond Chandler and Graham Greene, and writer-directors such as Orson Welles, Jules Dassin, Billy Wilder, and Julien Duvivier. His works have been featured in or placed highly in over a dozen film festivals and competitions internationally, including in the US, Italy, and Sweden. As of 2023, he is seeking motion picture literary representation and management.
