João Bruno Soeiro is an internationally active composer, producer, audio designer/engineer and pianist.
He divides his time between producing and composing music for projects like O Ídolo (2021), Alguém Como Eu (2017) or Vizinhos Vicini Buren Nachbarn Neighbours (2016) and Musiversal, where he's been producing orchestral recordings for artists like Sissel or Taylor Eigsti.
As a songwriter, arranger, producer or recording engineer, João has worked with many different artists, such as indie singer/songwriter Cristóvam, flutist/singer/composer Rasika Shekhar, pop singer Olga Seryabkina or rock singer/songwriter Vyacheslav Butusov.
In film sound, he's particularly keen on working with actors' voices as a dialogue and ADR engineer/recordist, editor and mixer. This has given him the chance to work in such productions as Hunter Killer (2018), McMafia (2018), Life (2017), The Americans (2013) and Riviera (2017). In parallel, he keeps working as an audio designer and re-recording mixer in several films, such as the animation feature A Warrior's Tail (2015), which starred Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Stone, Milla Jovovich and Joe Pesci.
In 2013 he was awarded a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music, Valencia Campus, from where he graduated with honours with a Master's degree in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games. There he had the chance to learn from and be guided by such names as Lucio Godoy, Alfons Conde, Vanessa Garde, Ben Houge, Ben Cantil and Constantino Martínez Orts. In consequence of his engagement with Berklee and also due to his profound interest in teaching, communicating and public speaking, he was invited to give a talk at the very first TEDx BerkleeValencia, which was called "Passion is not enough".
João was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1983, and raised in that same city. He only started studying music at the age of 19, at the Academia de Amadores de Musica, but his enthusiasm for this form of art, together with his hard-work and determination, led him to be accepted at the prestigious Gnessin Academy of Music, in Moscow, in 2009, to the piano studio of Professor Maria Gambarian, one of Russia's most legendary living pianists and pedagogues. He concluded his Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance there in 2013.
During those years, he played solo recitals in Portugal and Russia and also had his first experiences writing music for cinema and visual media, which led him to realise how much he loved and wanted to work in that professional field.
