In a development that may not be all that surprising, Don Lemon doesn’t seem to have many fans over at Fox News.
On Monday morning’s installment of “Fox & Friends First,” cohost Carley Shimkus and guest Beverly Hallberg broke down the former “CNN This Morning” anchor’s first interview since his firing, slamming the journalist for positioning himself as what Hallberg deemed “the arbiter of the truth.”
“I think it’s pretty laughable to most people,” she said.
The “Fox & Friends First” discussion kicked off Monday with Shimkus introducing the fact that in his first interview since being fired from CNN in April, Lemon maintained that he has and will continue to always “tell the truth” and “abide by the promises of the Constitution.”

Carley Shimkus will take up the co-anchor seat on “Fox & Friends First” opposite Todd Piro after Jillian Mele announced Friday that she was leaving the early-morning program.
Shimkus has been a reporter for Fox News Headlines, a co-host on the Fox Nation streaming service and a substitute host on Fox News Channel. She joined Fox Business Network in 2009 as a production assistant and was later promoted to associate producer. She is a graduate of Quinnipiac University. “The ‘Fox & Friends’ franchise has been the leader in morning television for nearly 20 years and I feel fortunate to be a part of this incredible team,” Shimkus said in a statement.
“Fox & Friends First” airs weekday mornings between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., and typically represents the first original hours of the Fox News Channel schedule each morning. Fox News expanded the program in 2017, starting it at 4 a.m. rather than 5 a.m., its original start time.

Fox News’ Bill Hemmer is worried that if what he sees as cancel culture can come for historical monuments, it may eventually come for Biblical figures.
On Friday, the network anchor was co-hosting a segment on the various historical monuments under review in Chicago, including a handful of statues honoring former President Abraham Lincoln.
“If they start canceling American presidents, they’ll come after Bible characters next. Mark my words,” Hemmer warned.
While observers on Twitter unsurprisingly roasted Hemmer’s remarks about canceling the Bible, his comments were more warmly received on air, with his fellow Fox Newsers also sounding off on so-called cancel culture.
After explaining what’s happening in Illinois, reporter Carley Shimkus mused, “You have to wonder: Are we in a transition period in our country right now where our grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, might not think of these people the way we do? They might not...

A day after President Donald Trump reminded Americans about how the Continental Army “took over the airports” in 1775, Fox News viewers offered more alternative facts today. During the Fifth of July broadcast of Outnumbered, co-anchor Julie Banderas pointed out that it’s “a crime to burn the American flag.”
Just one little problem: It’s not.
The panel failed its civics lesson during a segment about the controversy over Nike canceling the sale of sneakers adorned with the “Betsy Ross flag.” Banderas was reacting to guest panelist Carley Shimkus, who said: “The American flag — it’s very important to honor it. There was a video of somebody who stopped burning of the protest yesterday with his hands. It means a lot to a lot of people.” At that point, Banderas added, “Two people were arrested after that.”
That is true, but the scorching of Old Glory wasn’t the reason...

No big surprise here, but Fox News will wrap up 2018 with an exclusive interview with Potus Donald Trump.
It will air as part of Fox News Channel’s All-American New Year, co-hosted by Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery and Pete Hegseth tonight live from Times Square in New York City. According to Fnc, Trump will discuss the government shutdown and reveal his New Year’s resolutions for 2019, with what he hopes to accomplish in the coming year.
Fnc’s Griff Jenkins and Carley Shimkus will kick off the festivities at 8 Pm Et with a two-hour special, Countdown to All-American New Year before Kennedy and Hegseth take over at 10 Pm Et.
The exact time of the interview is not known, but it’s a pretty good guess, given Trump’s latest overnight tweetstorm, where his focus will be, again blaming Democrats for the continuing stalemate.
