If ardent Tmnt fans took issue with Paramount and Dave Green’s spin on Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, let it be known that early on in development both parties had at the very least considered an alternate take on the infamous, masked vigilante.
That’s according to a series of concept art that has now surfaced for Paramount’s blockbuster sequel – drafted up by Daniel Edery and Jared Krichevsky – highlighting the early vision for not only Casey Jones, but a host of Tmnt 2‘s key characters including Splinter, Krang, Shredder and many more. Ranging from unremarkable to the bizarre, you can find all of the images embedded in the gallery above.

Below you can check out some alternate takes on some of the supporting characters from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows , courtesy of Daniel Edery and Jared Krichevsky This sequel had its moments, but was viewed by the majority of fans as a disappointment. One of the biggest gripes was the new live-action interpretation of hockey mask-wearing vigilante, Casey Jones. Stephen Amell's take really had nothing in common with the character from the comics and animated series, and looked completely different to boot. As you can see, at one time we may have gotten a version that was a lot closer to the original Casey... in appearance, at least. The Ninja Turtles come into conflict with T.C.R.I. scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman with the association of the Foot Clan and the return of the Shredder, who has hired Stockman to create mutants of their own...
