Fortified by top executive appointments, London-based Academy Award winning Passion Pictures is driving powerfully into long-form animation.
It has already produced episodes of cult Netflix series “Love, Death & Robots” – “Life Hatch” and “Ice,” which scored three Emmy Awards – as well as Netflix’s “Headspace,” Disney’s “101 Dalmatian Street” and Nickelodeon’s “Lego City Adventures.”
Building on that, Passion will unveil two new projects, “Greetings from the Apocalypse” and “Love,” at the MIFA TV Series & Specials Pitches on June 16. Passion is the only company to have two titles in this category which currently packs a lot of the excitement and innovation at the cutting edge of current animation.

"Hell is paved with good intentions." We all know this quote... But how many are actually capable of doing the right thing when it's needed? Good Intentions is a short film made by Swedish animation filmmaker Anna Mantzaris as her graduation project from the Royal College of Art in 2018. She also worked on Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs, and makes lot of cloth/fabric stop-motion short films in her own time. The short a small thriller about people that are not always the best at making decisions. Vimeo has announced the winners for its 2018 Best of the Year Staff Picks Awards. Unlike previous years, Vimeo brought in a distinguished jury to screen the nominees in each category and decide the winner. Jury members included actor Alan Cumming, Oscar-winning documentarian Roger Ross Williams, “Monsters and Men” breakout director Reinaldo Green, “21 Jump Street” co-director Phil Lord, and more.
All seven award recipients below will receive a cash prize and a physical trophy, in addition to the Best of the Year badge. The winning films will also be screened at Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on January 17. To decide the nominees, which were announced January 7, Vimeo’s in-house curation team chose 93 titles with the Staff Picks badge from 2018 in seven categories. Vimeo has announced its 2018 nominees for the Best of the Year Staff Picks Awards.
