Match #1: Bianca Belair, Bayley, Naomi & Jade Cargill def. Asuka, Kairi Sane, Dakota Kai and Tiffany Stratton The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
A flurry of offense culminated with Bianca Belair hitting Dakota Kai with the K.O.D. to pick up the victory for her team. Although issues between The Est of WWE and Bayley were still evident, the showdown was an exciting prelude to the WWE Women’s Title Triple Threat Match and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match at Backlash France.

Lyon Daniels took inspiration from the 'Star Wars' movies for his role in 'The Spiderwick Chronicles'.The 16-year-old actor is starring as Jared in the new series based on the children's fantasy books by Tony Diterlizzi but actually turned to a string of classic films in preparation, and wanted to base his portrayal on Darth Vader's alter-ego from the classic sci-fi franchise. He told ScreenRant: "Well, my character delves deep into mental health. He has mental health issues, and that's something that's very personal and important to me. I really wanted to respect that in my performance. So I tried to be as authentic about it as possible. "I talked with the showrunner, Aaron, and the writer as well. We avoided certain words and just tried to figure out how to do it in a very natural and coherent way as possible."I prepared for it by just watching movies.

Jon Hamm as Roy Tillman in ‘Fargo’ season 5 episode 2 (Photo Cr: Michelle Faye/FX)
FX’s Fargo season five episode two opens with the introduction of a new key player. Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) admires himself on a billboard as his voice-over drops a few pertinent facts. The Tillmans have a history in law enforcement. Roy believes Jesus was a bearded man and that women should be seen, not heard, kept pregnant and in the kitchen.
Plus, they should come to their wedding bed virgins.
It turns out he’s dropping these pearls of wisdom on a young couple. The husband is an abuser, but the wife tries to play it off that she’s just clumsy. Hubby learns a lesson the hard way when Roy has his deputy place him in a chokehold. Oh wait, the lesson didn’t sink in, and Roy tosses a cup of scalding...

This article contains spoilers for Fargo season 5 episodes 1 and 2.
Fargo season 5 opens in as immediate fashion as possible. As the curtains rise on episode 1 “The Tragedy of the Commons,” punches are already being thrown. It’s a chaotic, yet familiar scene in the U.S. in which a community meeting at a high school auditorium has devolved into desultory violence.
Our protagonist Dorothy “Dot” Lyon (Ted Lasso‘s Juno Temple) shields her daughter from the melee as adults act a fool at the Fall Festival Planning Committee. Dot is drawn into the fray when her daughter’s math teacher comes barreling down the aisle screaming “No one’s listening to me!” Dot tases him in self defense and is booked at the local police station, kickstarting the real events of the season.

Lorraine Lyon, the CEO of a private debt collection company and matriarch of the Lyon family, is sitting for an interview. Dressed modestly in a black skirt and jacket adorned with gold buttons, yet surrounded by her sleek marble-floored office space, Lorraine (Jennifer Jason Leigh) listens patiently as the reporter asks how her business soared to record profits by buying consumer debt other collectors wrote off as “uncollectible.” “Here’s what you need to understand about Americans,” she says, unperturbed by the question’s doubtful implications. “They don’t want a handout. What they’re looking for is an opportunity to fix it themselves. We give them that.”
Like any good spin artist, Lorraine laces her plainly contemptible conduct with grains of truth. While no sane person would object to the sudden dissolution of their obscene medical bills or interest-inflated credit card debt, they may, in fact, like to fix...

Director Jeff Nichols’ clear admiration for the work of photojournalist Danny Lyon and his 1968 book The Bikeriders that chronicles the lives of the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club, is evident in a new drama of the same name about a fictitious motorcycle gang called the Vandals. Nichols has teamed up once more with long-time collaborator and cinematographer Adam Stone to recreate the film-grainy look and feel of 1965’s Chicago by bringing Lyon’s black-and-white photos into full, colourful and vibrant life.
Katy (Killing Eve‘s Jodie Comer with a thick and rather amusing northwestern dialect that casts doubt on her casting) is the battle-worn and cynical narrator of the film, as she explains to the Danny Lyon character in the film (played by Mike Faist) how she first got into the gang, married the most eligible bikerider, Danny, and eventually found herself forced into a ‘love triangle’ for Danny’s affections...

Exclusive: Jeff Nichols spent two decades considering how to approach what would become his new film The Bikeriders because he did not want to glamorize motorcycle culture.
That’s a hard road to travel when the finished movie stars Austin Butler (Elvis), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), and Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road), who aren’t exactly lacking in screen charisma.
Nichols has based his movie on the seminal work of photojournalist Danny Lyon, who rode with and snapped the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club for two years beginning in 1963. His book chronicling his devilish association with the Outlaws was first published in 1968.

Front and center are Butler as devastatingly handsome biker Benny; Comer as down-to-earth Kathy, unvarnished and clear-eyed, she sees through the biker bullshit; and Hardy as Johnny, the leader who kinda wants to be Benny.

“I’ve been thinking. I can’t run this club forever,” Tom Hardy’s character Johnny says in the opening for The Bikeriders trailer. “I built this from nothing. This is our family.”

Jeff Nichols’ “The Bikeriders,” starring Jodie Comer, Austin Butler and Tom Hardy, races into theaters on Dec. 1, following a splashy debut last week at Telluride. And you can watch a brand-new trailer right now (above), to get your engine properly revved.
Based on a 1968 photo book of the same name by Danny Lyon, “The Bikeriders” is told from the point of view of Kathy (Comer), a member of a ‘60s motorcycle gang who marries a handsome new member named Benny (Butler). As the nature of the motorcycle gang changes, so too does Benny’s relationship with the group’s volatile leader Johnny (Hardy). Bursts of violence, great pompadours and tons of cool leather jackets. What more could you want?
This is, incredibly, Nichols’ first movie since his 2016 back-to-back triumphs – sci-fi chase movie “Midnight Special” and his Oscar-nominated historical drama “Loving.” For a long time Nichols was developing a new take on “Alien Nation,...

Don’t let the word “bike” fool you. In Jeff Nichols’ “The Bikeriders,” the wheels in question are choppers — good, all-American motorcycles, built from the ground up by tough guys in leather jackets — and the “club” they’re a part of is really more of a gang. Nichols hails from the Heartland and has a better handle on the life and attitudes one finds in so-called flyover country than nearly all the directors working at his level. You’ve probably seen a few of his films, most of which take place down dirt roads in rural areas. Movies like “Shotgun Stories,” “Loving” and “Mud.”
With “The Bikeriders,” Nichols brings us into the big city — or the outskirts, at least — and then zeroes in on a social microcosm all of us recognize, but few have penetrated: a Chicago-area motorcycle club that calls itself the Vandals. The Vandals don’t really exist,...

Biker movies are almost a subgenre of films unto themselves, beginning with Marlon Brando’s The Wild One in the early ’50s and then through all those Aip exploitation titles of the ’60s including The Wild Angels, Hells Angels on Wheels and many more, notably Tom Laughlin’s predecessor to Billy Jack called Born Losers, all culminating with Easy Rider with Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson, which became the Citizen Kane of biker cinema.
It has been awhile since we have seen a major big-screen return to the world of biker culture, but with Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders, which had its world premiere Thursday at the Telluride Film Festival, this long-lost era is back. But its filmmaker has distinctly different ideas and motives in reviving it. Basically, Nichols tells a period story set in the ’60s and ’70s world of the earlier efforts but applies contemporary themes of...

FX is serving up another helping of Fargo in the fall, and it sounds like another winner.
Fargo Season 5 will premiere its first two episodes on Tuesday, November 21, at 10 p.m. Et.
New episodes will be available weekly for the rest of the season.
The cable network has kept plot details tightly under wraps since it was announced that Jon Hamm and Juno Temple would be headlining.
Thankfully, we have some clarity about what to expect, and we're intrigued.
After an unexpected series of events lands "Dorothy 'Dot' Lyon" (Temple) in hot water with the authorities, this seemingly typical Midwestern housewife is suddenly plunged back into a life she thought she had left behind.
North Dakota Sheriff "Roy Tillman" (Hamm) has been searching for Dot for a long time.
A rancher, preacher and a constitutional lawman, Roy believes that he is the law and therefore is above the law.

London, July 1 (Ians) Australia’s premier off-spinner Nathan Lyon got a standing ovation from the Lord’s crowd as he came out to bat with a seriously injured calf in his team’s second innings in the ongoing second Ashes Test on Saturday.
In their second innings, Australia were well-placed at 187/2, before falling prey to England’s short-ball ploy and slipping to 264/9 in the final session of day four’s play.
Very few people expected Lyon to walk out to bat after leaving the field on Thursday, with Cricket Australia confirming that the premier off-spinner has suffered a significant right calf strain which could rule him out for the rest of the Ashes, and him arriving at the ground in crutches.
But after Josh Hazlewood fell, broadcast visuals showed Lyon struggling to come down the pavilion steps before limping out to bat. Lyon’s commitment to his team was given...

London, June 30 (Ians) Australian bowlers wreaked havoc with the ball in the morning session to take a 91-run lead over England, before a steady showing with the bat, led by Usman Khawaja’s 58 not out on Day 3 helped them strengthen their grip on the second Ashes Test at Lord’s on Friday.
In what turned out to be a horror morning session for England, who resumed from 278/4, they lost their next wickets for only 47 runs in a 90-minute spell of superb bowling by Australia despite missing the services of Nathan Lyon.
England were eventually bowled out for 325 in their first innings, gifting a crucial 91-run lead to the visitors. Australia then ended the Day 3 at 130/2, with a healthy lead of 221 runs.
Mitchell Starc was the main architect of England’s downfall, ending up with figures of 3/88, but mainly picking two of his wickets on the morning of day three. Starc started the procession,...

London, June 30 (Ians) Former Australia cricketer Trent Copeland believes Todd Murphy is the perfect replacement for injured Nathan Lyon should the veteran off-spinner be ruled out from the remainder of the Ashes series.
On Day Two, Lyon was running in to take a catch of Ben Duckett off the bowling of Cameron Green in the leg-side after tea in the 37th over, when he pulled up sharply while running towards the ball.
The injury was so serious that Lyon had to go off the field by taking the support of a member of the Australian team’s medical staff. On Friday, Lyon arrived at Lord’s on crutches, as Cricket Australia announced the premier off-spinner has been diagnosed with a significant calf strain.
It added that a call on Lyon’s availability for the rest of the Ashes will be taken once the ongoing second Test at Lord’s ends.

London, June 29 (Ians) Opener Ben Duckett led England’s response on day two of the second men’s Ashes Test at Lord’s with a fine 98 as the hosts’ reached 278/4 in 61 overs at stumps and trail Australia by just 138 runs on Thursday.
On a day where the action was chaotic and swung like a pendulum, Australia were bowled out for 416, with premier batter Steve Smith making 110, his 32nd Test hundred. Pacers Josh Tongue and Ollie Robinson took three wickets each as Australia lost their last five wickets for 65 runs.
In reply, England’s opening pair of Duckett and Zak Crawley shared a 91-run opening stand, also England’s highest partnership from its openers in an Ashes Test since 2010/11.
But a stunning collapse of three wickets for 34 runs in 7.3 overs saw Australia fightback in the match despite losing Nathan Lyon to right calf injury in the 37th over.

London, June 28 (Ians) After taking the field for the second Test of Ashes 2023 against England at Lord’s, veteran Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon on Wednesday became the first specialist bowler to play 100 consecutive matches in the longest format of the game.
Lyon, who made his Test debut in July 2011, has also become only the sixth player in the history of cricket to feature in 100 consecutive Tests. Other players in the list are Alastair Cook (159), Allan Border (153), Mark Waugh (107), Sunil Gavaskar (106) and Brendon McCullum (101).
Coincidentally, Lyon has achieved this rare landmark at Lord’s, the same venue where he was dropped in the format for the last time. This was almost a decade ago during Australia’s tour of England for the 2013 Ashes series.

New Delhi, June 26 (Ians) Australian spinner Nathan Lyon responded to a recent comment made by English seamer Ollie Robinson that Australia’s lineup has three players who bat at number eleven and said that ‘it was all bit of a banter’.
Robinson’s comments came after Australia were bowled out for 386 in the first innings of the Ashes opener. English bowlers unleashed a series of short-pitched deliveries, leading to the dismissal of the final four Australian wickets for a mere 14 runs on Day 3 of the first Ashes Test.
However, Lyon and Pat Cummins displayed remarkable composure when faced with a similar situation during the second innings, guiding the visiting team to victory.
Speaking about Robinson’s no.11 comment from Robinson, Lyon admitted that he is a no.11 batter. But, Josh Hazlewood doesn’t allow him to bat there.

Birmingham, June 21 (Ians) Following England’s two-wicket defeat to Australia in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston, former captain Michael Vaughan has advised the Ben Stokes-led side to nail the tourists down and leave no opportunity for them to make a comeback when they are pushed on the back foot.
Chasing 281, Australia got home courtesy of an unbeaten ninth-wicket stand of 55 between Pat Cummins (44 not out) and Nathan Lyon (16 not out) on day five’s play. England, who declared their first innings on 393/8 on day one’s play, managed to keep Australia down to 227/8, but missed a chance to take out Lyon when Stokes dropped a crucial difficult catch.
“What England must learn is that when you are nailing the opposition, make sure you finish the deal. If you were being critical, there were too many times in this Test match when England seemed comfortably on top and then just...

Birmingham, June 21 (Ians) Former Australia men’s head coach Justin Langer believes Pat Cummins’ showing ice in the veins composure in leading the team to a thrilling two-wicket victory in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston is the antidote to England’s ‘Bazball’ approach of playing Test cricket.
Cummins came out to bat when Australia needed 72 runs to win with three wickets in hand on day five’s play. After witnessing the dismissal of Alex Carey, Cummins displayed remarkable composure, remaining unbeaten on 44 off 73 deliveries to guide Australia to victory.
“Questions have been raised before, and indeed during this Test match, on what the antidote to Bazball might be. The Australian captain just showed the world; it is ice in the veins. Cummins showed that with the first ball of the series, and again last night on the last ball of the match. This time with a bat in his hands,...

Birmingham, June 21 (Ians) A superb rearguard innings of 44 not out by skipper Pat Cummins and his crucial 55-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Nathan Lyon (16 not out) helped Australia scamper to a two-wicket victory over England in the nail-biting first Ashes Test of the 2023 series at the Edgbaston here on Tuesday.
Chasing a fourth innings target of 218 to win the match, Australia, who ended Day Four at 107/3, were in trouble after losing Alex Carey for 20 with the score 227/8.
The first game of the new Icc World Test Championship cycle ended in dramatic fashion, with Cummins playing a captain’s knock to steer his side to a famous victory in the Birmingham twilight.
Despite losing the first session of the day because of rain, England, who declared their first innings at 393/8 and bowled out for 272 in their second, were sniffing their chances as they only needed two wickets with Australia needing 54 runs.

Birmingham, June 20 (Ians) The First Test of the 2023 Ashes series hangs in balance as Australia shot out England for 273 and knocked off 107/3 in their second innings, leaving them 174 runs behind with one day’s play remaining at the Edgbaston on Monday.
Australia skipper Pat Cummins (4-63) and spinner Nathan Lyon (4-80) shared eight wickets between them as Australia, who had conceded a small lead to England, shot out the hosts for 273 in their second innings.
Joe Root inspired a quickfire England start to the day, with Harry Brook and Ben Stokes also making valuable contributions.
But four-wicket hauls for the outstanding Cummins and Lyon saw England bowled out for 273, leaving a target of 281 for the tourists to win the Test.
Stuart Broad took two crucial late wickets to leave an England win still very much in the mix with some cloud and possible rain delays expected on the fifth day.

Madrid (Spain), May 4 (Ians) With a win against the mighty Real Madrid and a draw with Real Betis, their close rivals for a spot in European competitions, Real Sociedad have cemented their hold on the fourth place in the La Liga standings.
Real Sociedad were on the road last week for the midweek Matchday 31 and the weekend Matchday 32 and they ultimately returned to San Sebastián with four very important points in the bag.
The Basque side visited one of their direct rivals for Champions League qualification, Real Betis, last Tuesday and earned an important and impressive 0-0 draw, before travelling to Pamplona to take on Jagoba Arrasate’s tough CA Osasuna side on Friday, earning a 2-0 victory.
As if that wasn’t enough, Alguacil’s side this week extended their good run of form with a win over reigning champions Real Madrid, no less. Goals from Take Kubo and...

When “NCIS: Hawai’i” airs tonight, it will quietly make a bit of franchise history — via guest star Kurt Yaeger. The episode will complete Yaeger’s full sweep of all four “NCIS” editions, which is believed to be the first time that an actor has appeared on every version in completely different roles.
“Given how long these franchises have been in existence, there will inevitably be some crossover with actors,” said CBS talent and casting exec VP Claudia Lyon. “We don’t have statistics on how often that happens, but I wouldn’t be surprised. There are many actors out there who do one or two of them. But what makes Kurt unique is that he’s done all four.”
But here’s what’s also notable: Yaeger is an actor/writer with a disability, having lost his part of his left leg in a 2006 motorbike accident. And he’s utilizing...

What can you do when your homeland’s falling apart? The easy answer is stay or leave, but both options carry too much complexity to simply choose and be done. For starters, not everyone has that choice—whether due to finances, family, or myriad other reasons. And those who are able must dig deep within themselves to rationalize why. Do you leave because of greater opportunity? Do you stay because you want to be part of the solution? Or do you find yourself in a sort of purgatory—one foot planted on each side, only to discover your fear of losing out on the benefits of one for the potential of the other has you locked in stasis?...
