- Director
Cédric Le Men was born on October 5th, 1976 in Saint-Martin-d'Hères, a suburb of Grenoble, France.
His first ambition was to become a professional musician, after attending music classes as a child and learning guitar as an teenager. In 1993, he founded the rock-band Zahori, of which he was a member for almost a decade. At the time, Cédric was studying Spanish history and literature in Montpellier university, in the south of France.
His interest changed after watching the movie "Amelie" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet in 2001 : he then realized that he wanted to become a film director, and moved to Paris to study cinema in the ESRA (Ecole Superieure de Realisation Audiovisuelle) film school. There, he directed two short-feature films, "Kaeron" and "Lacrimosa", for which he also composed part of the original soundtrack.
Upon graduation, Cédric directed several music videos and live concert recordings produced by his own company created in 2008, Camisole. He also worked, on the side, as chief editor for cultural website Ça Dépend des Jours, before directing his first non-scholar short film, "Dieu reconnaîtra les Siens" ("Let God Sort Them Out").
