Carmelo De Mitri is an Italian born cinematographer raised and educated
in Puerto Rico. As a student of music and award winning musical
performer (French Horn), he discovered his passion for the visual arts.
He went on to study audiovisual communications at the University of
Puerto Rico, focusing on direction, acting, photography, film
production and design for theater working under the supervision of Dean
Zayas, Jorge Rudulofo, Efrain Piñeiro...
He directed his first film- "Hallando a Clara" in 2013. This was followed by "El Niño y Don Ápap," which was awarded an official entry into the 2014 Rincon international film festival . He has also worked as a cinematographer with Puerto Rican film director such as Vicente Juarbe and the accomplished actress Idalia Perez Garay on the filming of "Etreum" a feature length movie scheduled to premiere in 2014. He is engaged in a number of film projects as well as his destination wedding photography.
