An Oakland, California native, Robbin Rae, received both her B.A. in Communications and M.S. in Urban Educational Leadership at California State University, Hayward. As a teacher at EXCEL High School (now McClymond's High School), Ms. Rae developed McClymond's Digital Arts Media Academy, thus educating and inspiring Oakland's youth over eight years. Robbin was constantly being reminded of her original desire to create movies, from her students when they asked, "Ms. Robbin, why aren't you making movies?" Robbin decided to return to her first love. Robbin enrolled in the MFA Film program at New York University, Tisch Asia and moved to Singapore to further develop her technique and deepen her artistic talents. Her thesis film Oakland in Blue placed in the NYU First Run 2016 Film Festival and has been well received in film festivals across the country. Robbin Rae earns a living as a high school Digital Media Arts teacher and spends her earnings by producing short films and music videos.
