Amazon Prime has had a string of successful comic book adaptations, with both The Boys and Invincible being major hits. Now, building on the success of The Boys, the streaming service released a spin-off series titled Gen V back in September 2023. The series ran for eight episodes in total and was yet another smashing hit for the streaming service, which – of course – led to the announcement of a second season. And while we don’t have any release window as of the time of writing, we do have some exciting filming updates that could narrow down the possibilities.
The Boys is probably one of the most popular comic book adaptations ever made. The series is simply on a run, and with Season 4 arriving soon, there is a lot of good to expect from the future of the franchise. Gen V was ordered and produced as a functional spin-off of The Boys...

Gen V may have wrapped its freshman run late last year, but the cast is already slated to return for another exciting chapter as Prime Video renewed the college-set spinoff of The Boys for a second season. Following the finale, TV Insider caught up with stars Jaz Sinclair, London Thor, Derek Luh, Lizze Broadway, Asa Germann, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, who weighed in on cast and character superlatives. In the video above, they get silly and candid about everything from who would be least fazed by the chaotic world of Gen V to which of them is the “neat freak” of the group. (Credit: Prime Video) But perhaps one of the most important questions they’re answering is which character from The Boys (which returns for a fourth season this year) they’d most like to share the screen with at some point. “Butcher and Kimiko,” Thor answers easily, referring to...

As a member of the “Gen V” cast, Chance Perdomo has gone through many on-set experiences specific to those in “The Boys” franchise: being repeatedly covered in fake blood and bodily fluids, shooting scenes with giant genitalia, and saying some truly filthy lines coming out of a superhero’s mouth. But Perdomo has another surprising connection to “The Boys.”
“I came into this as a fan of ‘The Boys,’ I actually had originally auditioned for Hughie, years ago.” I read it and I thought it was such a great script. And I was like, ‘Whether I get it or not, I still want to watch the show.’ Then I watched ‘The Boys’ and I think, ‘Wow this has never been done, it’s amazing’. So then...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of “Gen V, titled “Guardians of Godolkin,” now streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
You’ve had a week since the “Gen V” Season 1 finale to theorize about where Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Andre (Chance Perdomo), Jordan (Derek Luh/London Thor) and Emma (Lizze Broadway) are at the end of “The Boys” spinoff’s cliffhanger episode. So, do you have a plausible explanation for the medical facility with no doors that the four supes are stuck in?
It’s Ok, we don’t either, and just like “Gen V” showrunner Michele Fazekas, star Luh is no help to us by keeping his lips sealed — even though he’s finally allowed to talk about the Amazon series after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended — and refusing to be the spoiler-ific Tom Holland of the Vought Cinematic Universe.

Will There Be Gen V Season 2? Well, in 2023, the teenage superheroes from Godolkin University made their debut on Amazon Prime Video, and people are already wondering what will happen in the second season of Gen V.
This show takes place right after the events of The Boys season 3 and focuses on young super-powered students at the Godolkin University School of Crime Fighting. This school is a bit like a funny version of the X-Men, and it’s also a way for Vought International to recruit new superheroes.
The person who created The Boys, Eric Kripke, is the one behind this show, and it’s meant to expand the world of The Boys while also standing on its own. Amazon knew that Gen V would be really popular even before the first episode came out, and they started working on season 2 in January 2023.

The folks behind "The Boys" and its college-set spinoff, "Gen V," really love to explore the possibilities of superhuman sex. Sure, it's something comic book nerds have been doing since the genre began, but they really get into it. In "The Boys," there's an entire supe orgy that is about as wild as you would expect, some oral sex that ends in a crushed skull, and a graphic sex scene that involves a shrinking supe going into another supe's penis, so the team behind "Gen V" really had their work cut out for them. The college-age supes are having just as much sex as their older counterparts, and it's just as bizarre, as the show has demonstrated. Poor Emma (Lizze Broadway) gave the world's weirdest "hand-job" while shrunk down to the size of an action figure, for starters, and things only get pervier when the show's main supes wake up...

Antony Starr and Karl Urban — who star on Amazon’s Prime Video drama “The Boys” as Homelander and Billy Butcher, respectively — reprised their roles in the Season 1 finale of “Gen V.” And it turns out they were gracious enough to do it on their “day off” from filming as Homelander assists some fledgling supervillains and Billy ties the Supe virus storyline to “The Boys” Season 4.

The first season of The Boys spinoff Gen V is coming to a close this week, and it seems like we’re in for a wild ride as the young supes of God U struggle to decide how to move forward after discovering the true nature of The Woods and its experiments.
With Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) now dead at Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) behest, the threat of the virus seems to be quelled for now, but that doesn’t mean that Cate’s thirst for vengeance has. In the season finale preview, Cate and Sam (Asa Germann) band together to release the people being held in The Woods and seek justice for the atrocities committed against the young supes of God U. Their friends, however, don’t seem too thrilled by the gleam of violence in their eyes as the campus descends into chaos.

Since "Gen V" premiered, it became amply clear that there was something nefarious about The Woods, which seemed like an open secret among the adults occupying the ranks in Vought. As for the young adults, the weight of the truth was too much to bear: Luke/Golden Boy (Patrick Schwarzenegger) ended up dying by suicide due to the trauma of being mentally toyed with, while his brother Sam (Asa Germann) is currently unable to escape radical indoctrination despite being free. The others — Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Andre (Chance Perdomo), Jordan (London Thor/David Luh), Cate (Maddie Philips), and Emma (Lizze Broadway) — wrestle their inner demons over the course of the episodes, trying to help uncover the unsavory secrets that lie beneath Godolkin. The penultimate episode of Gen V’s first season is poised to be an intense one as Marie, Andre (Chance Perdomo), Cate (Maddie Phillips), Emma (Lizze Broadway), and Sam (Asa Germann) work to uncover Dean Shetty’s (Shelley Conn) plans for The Woods and how they connect to Sam and his brother Luke’s (Patrick Schwarzenegger) abilities.
Episode 7 will feature the return of Congresswoman and Vice Presidential candidate Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), who grew up in Red River before being adopted by Vought’s former CEO Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito). Even though Neuman is moving up in the world, and has kept her supe abilities generally under wraps as far as the general public is concerned, she seems to still have a connection with Marie, who also grew up at Red River. It’s likely that Neuman is Marie’s benefactor,...

The superhero-satire series ‘Gen V’, which is a spin-off on hit streaming series ‘The Boys’, has announced that it will officially be releasing a second season of the series. Filled with blood, gore, and darkly comical satire, the new season has all that people have come to expect from both ‘The Boys’ and ‘Gen V’.
A freshman take on the dark and chaotically violent world of ‘The Boys’, the series finds a new generation of supes from Vought which is titled ‘Gen V’.

This post contains spoilers for episode 6 of "Gen V," "Jumanji."
Supes have never been perfect in the world of "The Boys," and "Gen V" illustrates this further by zeroing in on the broken, messy lives of vulnerable teen Supes trapped under Vought's thumb. While "The Boys" illustrates the extremes of Supe megalomania, along with the shades of grey that exist within such power structures, "Gen V" paints its young Supes as innately human, in spite of their powers.
The series' focal point, Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) is a prime example of a young girl forced to make tough decisions to shield herself from further harm, as Marie's trauma only fuels her need to prove herself, and this path is littered with unsavory choices that are often immoral in nature. This does not make Marie or the other kids antiheroes — at least, not yet — as they're grappling with issues that make...

Actor Jensen Ackles switched up his schedule so he could reprise his role as Soldier Boy in the “The Boys” spinoff, “Gen V,” at the request of the series’ showrunner Michele Fazekas, and its executive producer, Eric Kripke, the two told TheWrap in an interview.
“We needed a marquee character to come in to be like our heroes’ guide within [Cate’s, played by Maddie Phillips] dream,” Kripke explained.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Gen V Season 1 Episode 6, “Jumanji.”] Gen V got a little trippy with its latest entry, aptly titled, “Jumanji,” as Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Andre (Chance Perdomo), and Jordan (Derek Luh/London Thor) found themselves trapped in Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) mind. After their minds were erased by their Supe classmate, she finally filled in the missing gaps as they were sucked into her subconsciousness. Walking around the dreamscape, the college students run into Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), or at least, a version of him who claims to be Cate’s imaginary boyfriend. What follows is a graphic, yet hilarious account of Cate’s sexual awakening through this version of Soldier Boy’s eyes. Explaining how he was pivotal for her coming-of-age, Soldier Boy gets in Andre’s face, noting that no matter what Cate always comes back to him. It’s a scene played for laughs with all of the attitude Ackles played the ...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for Episode 6 of “Gen V,” titled “Jumanji” now streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
This week’s “Gen V” came with a pleasant surprise for fans — and we’re not even talking about Thursday’s Season 2 renewal news that hit just before the episode arrived.
The installment featured the much-teased cameo of Jensen Ackles’ “The Boys” supe Soldier Boy, who appears to Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Andre (Chance Perdomo) and Jordan (Derek Luh/London Thor) as they travel through Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) fractured mind while she’s breaking down from doing too much brain-wiping/un-wiping of her friends on behalf of Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn).
Soldier Boy, who in “The Boys” universe is currently under lock and key in a government facility following the events of Season 3, says he’s there because he was Cate’s first crush and the object of her first masturbation session.

The Boys’ universe has become well-known for shocking deaths, bloody explosions, and corrupt superheroes. While the spinoff series Gen V has all of those things, and more, it also has an effortless queerness to it that The Boys has been lacking.
This isn’t to say that Queen Maeve’s (Dominique McElligott) arc in The Boys is terrible queer representation. It makes sense that she would have felt forced to hide who she was to keep her place in The Seven only for Vought to force her to come out to make themselves look progressive later on. Every part of Maeve’s identity is something for Vought to exploit, which The Boys does a great job of making abundantly clear.
But that’s what makes Gen V so refreshing in comparison. Queerness is just a normal part of life at God U and...

I hope you’re up for accruing more student debt because The Boys spinoff Gen V is getting a second season at Amazon. The renewal arrives ahead of the Season 1 finale, scheduled to air on November 3 on Prime Video. Just a few days ago, the two creatives had spoken openly about their hopes for season 2 and revealed that a writer's room had already been put into place to brainstorm where to take the story next. Now, their work begins in earnest with this official go-ahead.

There’s another school year ahead for the students at Godolkin University.

Amazon has renewed Gen V, its college-set spinoff of The Boys, for a second season. The news comes about midway through Season 1 as audiences gear up for the November 3 finale. Episode 6, titled “Jumanji,” is set to release on the streamer Friday.
Amazon has yet to release any data about the series’ performance so far. It hasn’t quite been a month since the first three episodes premiered on September 29, meaning that the series wouldn’t have appeared yet on the Nielsen streaming charts. It’s possible that more data will be available in the coming weeks, if the series cracks the streaming Top 10.

Amazon’s Prime Video is re-enrolling at Godolkin University.
The streamer has ordered a second season of Gen V, the college-set spinoff of The Boys. The renewal comes a couple weeks ahead of the show’s first season finale, which is set to debut on Nov. 3.
“Expanding the universe of The Boys with a series as bold as Gen V has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios. “From our first conversation with showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, along with [executive producers] Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, we knew Gen V would push the boundaries. Their unapologetic approach is exactly what audiences love, and it has helped Gen V become the No. 1 series on Prime Video in over 130 countries. Gen V is Prime Video’s most acquisitive new original series of 2023, and we’re...

This article contains spoilers for Gen V and The Boys.
With superheroes growing more and more unpredictable and volatile in the world of The Boys, it’s no surprise that Vought would be seeking new means to control them and their powers. Now that supes know that they were created with Compound V and not born with their abilities, Vought’s promises of wealth and popularity often aren’t enough to keep them in line. The Boys spinoff Gen V is not only showing us how the young supes in this world are reacting to this news, but also how Vought is adapting before they lose control entirely.
Gen V takes place between seasons 3 and 4 of The Boys, which means that every student at Godolkin University watched Homelander (Antony Starr) kill a civilian with his laser vision and still be greeted with thunderous applause. Between that and Starlight’s (Erin Moriarty) defection,...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for Episode 5 of “Gen V,” titled “Welcome to the Monster Club,” now streaming on Prime Video.
Even superheroes can party a little too hard.
The heroes of “Gen V” wake up wondering what the hell happened last night in this latest episode, but what seems like some alcohol-induced memory loss turns out to be diabolical mind wiping. The culprit comes from within our core group of heroes, when it’s revealed that Cate (Maddie Phillips) was erasing people’s memories on Dean Shetty’s (Shelley Conn) command.
Last week’s episode ended abruptly, just as Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Emma (Lizze Broadway), Jordan (London Thor and Derek Luh), Andre (Chance Perdomo) and Cate were close to getting answers on the mysterious supe program called The Woods. But suddenly, the screen cut to black and the heroes found themselves waking up at a wild house party,...

“Gen V” showrunner Michele Fazekas told TheWrap that the show’s team of writers lucked out when they learned their head of makeup, Colin Penman, knew how to build puppets. Penman’s talent helped them pull off their pitch for Sam Riordan’s (Asa Germann) violent puppet-fied fight scene in the Prime Video show’s fifth episode.
“We really got into the idea of shooting an action sequence exactly how you would shoot any action sequence. Nothing is different about it except for the fact that it’s puppets, and the sort of juxtaposing,” Fazekas told TheWrap.
Read on to find out how the puppet scene came together.
Warning, spoilers from Episode 5 of “Gen V” ahead.

This post contains spoilers for episode 5 of "Gen V," "Welcome to the Monster Club."
Things are getting progressively messier at Godolkin University, where our central gang is currently the target of an ominous memory wipe in the latest episode of "Gen V." Towards the end of episode 3 of the show, the gang — Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Emma (Lizze Broadway), Andre (Chance Perdomo), Cate (Maddie Phillips), and Jordan (Derek Luh/London Thor) — bands together to prevent Sam (Asa Germann) from murdering a doctor involved in the grisly experiments in The Woods.
However, halfway through this tense confrontation, the scene cuts away to what seems like a house party, where Marie and Jordan are seen waking up together after an unknown amount of time has passed. While this fresh development births a sweet romantic dynamic, the confusing, convoluted nature of this memory gap leaves the entire group unraveling, as the rest of them...
