*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by director Jeffery Scott Lando. **there are major spoilers here. Director: Jeffery Scott Lando. Writers: Kevin Mosley. Cast: Ellen MacNevin, Sage Brocklebank, Kylee Bush and Chilton Crane. Suspension was part of the 8 Films to Die For film series. Launched in October of last year, Suspension is a slasher film, which takes a note from John Carpenter's Halloween (1978). This killer is very reminiscent of another - Michael Myers. Indie in nature, the cast is limited to a few high schoolers and production has been limited mostly to a single home. The film's ending is meant to wow! viewers, but it is weakly set up, by Kevin Mosley's script. Suspension is a fairly average slasher film and homage to Halloween. The film sticks with Emily (Ellen MacNevin) for most of the proceedings. She is an ostracized student, who is happier...

Stars: Ellen MacNevin, Sage Brocklebank, Johannah Newmarch, Steve Richmond, Connor Fielding | Written by Kevin Mosley | Directed by Jeffrey Scott Lando
It would seem I have a love/hate relationship with the work of director Jeffrey Lando. On the one hand he has helmed fantastic direct to DVD movies such as Insecticidal (yes I really rather enjoyed that – even if Lando himself has a little disdain for it on his official blog), but on the other he was the director on House of Bones, a film whose ending, at the time, frustrated me to no end. But that was five years ago and since then we’d had a slew of TV movies from Lando, including the superb Syfy channel horror movie Goblin: an underrated gem that didn’t really achieve the same dizzy heights of success as those “other” Syfy monster movies!

Suspended Reality Productions has completed Suspension. This slasher feature recently showed at the Phoenix Comic Con. And, the film will also be shown in Rome and Montreal, this Summer. In the film, Emily (Ellen MacNevin) has a passion for art. But, when her bloody artwork comes to life, people begin to wonder if she is responsible for murder. As well, the film's trailer was released last year. Horror fans can find a preview for the film's upcoming screenings here. More story details can be found in the trailer. However, Emily is bullied by her classmates. Then, her peers are targeted by a masked killer. The killer might be Emily's father, back from the dead! The trailer is a compelling one. It shows Emily and her black, white and red drawings. The clip also shows a masked figure and several dispatched victims. Fans of horror can preview all of the gore below.
