On March 9 – one week into the hugely successful theatrical run of his new movie, Dune: Part Two – actor Josh Brolin took on Saturday Night Live hosting duties for the third time in his career. By the end of his latest outing (supported by veteran musical guest Ariana Grande), he racked up over 22 minutes of screen time constituting more than 35% of the episode.
Scroll down to see how Brolin stacked up against each of the show’s named performers, including surprise guests Scarlett Johansson and Joan Grande (Ariana’s mom). Note that our screen time data is calculated using a method that prioritizes face time, meaning that any contiguous (off-screen but in-scene) moments and practically all partial body appearances do not count. Screen time in the show’s opening credits, bumpers and goodnights are not included, nor do those portions factor into our assessment of the episode’s total running time.

Ariana Grande published a message on Saturday asking fans to stop sending “hateful messages to the people in my life” following the release of her album, Eternal Sunshine.
“i just wanted to say anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what i would ever encourage,” Grande wrote in an Instagram story.
The pop star added that the fan messages are “entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music.”
Grande’s seventh album, released Friday, explores facets of personal relationships and individual growth, and comes on the heels of a year when her love life dominated the news. Grande and her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, filed for divorce in September 2023. Around the same time, she was reportedly romantically linked to her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater.

Ariana Grande wasn’t just the musical guest during the March 9 episode of “Saturday Night Live.” While she took the stage to perform two songs from “Eternal Sunshine,” her just-released sixth album, “We Can’t Be Friends” and “Imperfect For You” — and was introduced by her mom, Joan Grande, for the second number — she also took on two different sketches.
After appearing as a patient in a group therapy session during the first half of the show, she was invited back to the stage later on in the night for a “Moulin Rouge” spoof, giving her the opportunity to sing covers of multiple hit songs.
The sketch created a PBS special, hosted by Mikey Day, taking a look at what the “Elephant Love Medley” would have looked like had director Baz Luhrmann known they’d be able to get the rights to other love songs; Bowen Yang and Grande played Christian and Satine,...

Nothing makes us smile more than seeing sweet snaps of celebrities with their moms. There's no better indicator of who a star truly is than seeing the women that raised them - some of whom are famous themselves.
Lizzo, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Camila Cabello have all shared major career moments with their mothers over the years, while Yara Shahidi, Zendaya, and Dove Cameron have even brought their moms along for big red carpet events.
These stars mothers' are never not inspiring them. As Grande said of her mom Joan Grande in 2018, "[You're] a mom and a dad, a best friend, an inspiration, a comedian, a healer, a genius and a brilliant example of a woman." And Grande is likely not alone in thinking the world of her mama.
