As more and more stars continue to expose stories of alleged sexual harassment and abuse in Hollywood in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, Corey Feldman is speaking out again about the alleged abuse he suffered as a child actor — abuses he claims are part of a larger problem of pedophilia in Hollywood.
The 46-years-year-old actor, who has been outspoken for years about this topic, wrote a series of impassioned tweets on Thursday explaining that his reluctance to disclose the names of his or anyone else’s abusers comes from his desire to protect his family.

In fear that the über-popular sci-fi series will overstay its welcome, Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer believe that the Netflix original currently has enough mileage in the tank to last four or five seasons before bowing off the airwaves for good.
Word comes by way of Entertainment Weekly, where Ross Duffer stressed that, when it comes to the remaining episode count, nothing is concrete just yet: “Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see.” Currently gearing up for its sophomore run, the Powers That Be over at Netflix will no doubt want to ensure Stranger Things remains a mainstay of the streamer’s digital portfolio for as long as possible.

Such as Irl, New Year’s Eve in movies tend to punctuate big moments. Long-awaited kisses, horrific endings, beautiful beginnings abound as everyone downs flutes of champagne while attempting to sing the words to “Auld Lang Syne” (even if no one understands exactly what they’re singing).

Many consider Dmitri Shostakovich the greatest composer of the 20th century. Born September 25, 1906, he might not have lived past his teens if he hadn't been talented. During the famines of the Revolutionary period in Russia, Alexander Glazunov, director of the Petrograd (later Leningrad) Conservatory, arranged for the poor and malnourished Shostakovich's food ration to be increased. Shostakovich's Symphony No. 1, his graduation exercise for Maximilian Steinberg's composition course at the Conservatory, was completed in 1925 at age 19 and was an immediate success worldwide. He was The Party's poster boy; his Second and Third Symphonies unabashedly subtitled, respectively, "To October". (celebrating the Revolution) and "The First of May". (International Workers' Day).
His highly emotional harmonic language is simultaneously tough yet communicative, but his expansion of Mahlerian symphonic structure, dissonances, sardonic irony, and dark moods eventually clashed with the conservative edicts of Communist Party officials. In 1936 he was viciously denounced by Pravda...

Gearing up for a monumental 2016, Illumination Entertainment – creative minds behind the lucrative Despicable Me franchise – are branching off from those infectious Minions and into the realm of anthropomorphic animals with A Secret Life of Pets and, later in 2016, Sing.
Featuring a who’s who of Hollywood talent, today brings forth the first trailer for the latter animation, showing just how quickly things go south when Matthew McConaughey’s enthused koala bear Buster Moon decides to host a talent show.
In fear that his best days as a theater owner are behind him, McConaughey’s eternal optimist opens up auditions to everyone in town regardless of, you know, actual talent. The results are fairly entertaining, with your standard mix of pop songs and big-name cameos.

When playing video games or researching how mechanics change the way a game works or makes you feel I noticed that video games and movies are strongly related when it comes to horror. Games of course have an added layer of depth by allowing you to play the game, but overall the mechanics to make you scared are very similar.

Happy New Year o’ faithful fiends! I hope your holidays were suitably haunted and horrible! Since it’s a new year and all, I figured I’d switch things up a bit, and present my reviews (with all of their patented ridiculous bullshi**ery) minus the ratings scale. Why? Come on, what's with all these f***ing branches!
Canada looks cold. Like really cold. Since it's already pretty cold in the apartment, watching Whitewash (2014) made it feel even colder. Bruce (Thomas Haden Church) drives a snowplow in the Great White North and it's a blizzard. For some reason, a man (Vincent Hoss-Desmarais) is in this blizzard without his coat on, walking down the ill-lit streets. The plow comes down the street, but the man doesn't get out of the way and is killed instantly. Bruce picks up the body, puts him on the plow, and buries him under the snow miles from the scene. In fear, Bruce drives the little plow through the woods, drinking himself senseless and wakes up with a disabled plow and a serious hangover. Why didn't he call the police? Who was that guy? Why is Bruce so stupid with his resources? We get answers to some of those questions.

Oh my, how the mighty had fallen! I had vague memories of Monkey Shines when I watched it over twenty years ago and, after revisiting this, it all makes sense why this film doesn’t spring to mind when I think of Romero’s great early body of work. George A. Romero’s first studio film ideally should have been the perfect opportunity for him to showcase his talent in a direction that nobody would expect and on paper it would seem that was his intention.
The story itself isn’t exactly straight horror. In fact, the first hour of the film plays off of a tragedy and is meant to create empathy for Jason Beghe’s character in a way that Christy Brown earns empathy in My Left Foot, but Beghe’s character isn’t developed enough to forgive or understand his selfish demeanor. He’s portrayed as simply...

Despite what some will tell you 2014 has been another stellar year for the genre. As was the case last year its not the big budget affairs winning viewers over (though Godzilla which is aguably a genre piece did excellent numbers at the box office) its the often low key independent flicks that are stealing hearts. From All Cheerleaders Die to Snowpiercer to In Fear weve had some beauties land in our laps and that trend isnt going to stop as the year winds down. Dig on a handful of scintillating prospects headed our way in the very near future...

In a canny move surprising few, Amazon have gone and echoed a pattern Netflix began around a year ago and nabbed a series from the Us where they will add an episode each week the day after its Us broadcast. This practice worked well with Breaking Bad and From Dusk Till Dawn in the past year and the publicity it got could well be the reason why you might encounter so many people who are only now making their way through five seasons of Breaking Bad via Netflix. So the show in question which be all exclusive up in here is the new Steven Spielberg/Halle Berry joint called Extant.
I knew nothing about this show going in and that is perhaps the best way to view it. I’m not going to claim this is the new Lost or whatever at this point but the first episode was ‘promising...

Critics appear to be Very happy with the new "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes". The film has scored a 90% (8/10) approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes along with a 79/100 on Metacritic.
That puts it well above the 82% (7.1/10) and 68/100 respectively that the film's predecessor, the 2011 reboot "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," scored. It is also one of the best scoring wide releases of the year so far - hovering in the same territory as other very well regarded wide releases this year like "The Lego Movie," "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "X-Men: Days of Future Past," "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Captain America: the Winter Soldier".
While I liked 'Rise', most of the non-ape elements had some big issues regarding performances (aside from Lithgow) and several inconsistent script and directing choices - see my review here. It was one of those films I admired but didn't love.

The Blair Witch Project Wrong Turn and The Hitcher might seem like strange bedfellows but understand that these comparisons are not to be taken too literally. Rather In Fear shares in some techniques and broad themes that could be traced back to those films. In Fear is very much its own monster an extremely economical yet taut and claustrophobic horror film that takes fear of isolation and the unknown and grinds them down to a small but incredibly sharp point.

New couple Tom and Lucy are on their way to a music festival, to meet up with friends, camp, and explore their new relationship, when things go terribly awry. In Fear opens with Lucy in the loo of a pub, while unseen to her, a leering eye stares through a peephole. As she and Tom leave to get on the road, Tom explains there was a slight altercation with a local due to a spilled drink, which he smoothed over with a couple of pints and an apology.
