Jeannie Gayle Pool is a composer, orchestrator, arranger, and documentary filmmaker. She has also worked as a musicologist in feature films since 1995 and is well known as a film and television music archivist and preservation specialist. Her book, A Research Guide to Film and Television Music (co-authored with H. Stephen Wright), published in 2011 by Scarecrow Press, is a much consulted book on how to interpret primary sources for the history of scoring. It includes an important chapter on how to read cue sheets and understand synchronization rights. She served as a consultant and music archivist at Paramount Pictures from 1995 until 2012. She has served as an officer and board member of the American Society of Music Arrangers and Conductors.
