Last year, we bought you a review of India’s number one Rockstar Himesh Reshammiya’s year 2014. Seeing that he has had another exceptional year, we thought that we should do the same for 2015!
Himesh’s year began with the song ‘Bulbul’ for the film Hey Bro. This was the second time that he sang for a music director other than himself (remember he sang ‘Photocopy’ for the film Jai Ho) and it was the first time that he worked with music directors Nitz n Sony. While the film didn’t do too well, the song ‘Bulbul’ was well liked by his fans.
Moving on from ‘Bulbul’, there was a brief gap until the music of All is Well. A T-series film, Himesh gave three songs to this soundtrack (‘Baaton Ko Teri’ Arijit Singh, ‘Tu Mila De’ Ankit Tiwari and ‘Yolo’ Sreeram Chandra). Himesh’s three songs were very much noticed and in particular,...

Director Sooraj Barjatya is back with his eternal Prem (Salman Khan) in tow in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which looks a fun throwback to the Rajshri blockbusters like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain. He’s roped in Himesh Reshammiya, who is no stranger to retro sounds with his composing work, which is both his weakness and strength to haters and fans. Yet Reshammiya shows that he’s up to task in recreating the big and grand spectacles of the Rajshri songs. If we were to compare the soundtrack to a food, it’s like a comfort food that delivers the goods for that short while, which is part of the Rajshri treatment that we’re getting after so long.
The album kicks off with Prem Leela, which is a big and brassy number that was unveiled last week. The song is your characteristic Salman song with the loud dhols and drums,...

The most awaited album of the year is undoubtedly, Rajshri Productions ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. With music by the Himesh Reshammiya, the album has 10 songs sung by popular and new singing talents.
Singers such as Shaan, Aman Trikha, Harshdeep Kaur, Palak Muchhal, Anwesha Dutta and newbies such as Darshan Raval and Aishwarya Majumdar and more, all feature on the album. As a composer, Himesh has truly gone back to his classical roots, which reminds us of the wonderful 90s Bollywood music that has been missing today. From early reviews this one is going to be a big hit!

The Barjatya’s and TSeries have surely got the timing right (just before the festival of Navratri) when it comes to releasing the first song from Rajshri Productions epic Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The promo of the song titled ‘Prem Leela’ released online today and has been receiving exceptional reviews across Social Media.
The song has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil and has main vocals by playback singer Aman Trikha and Vineet Singh. Aman has done an exceptional job with the vocals and sings for Salman for the second time (he also sang the very popular song ‘PoPo’ from Son of Sardaar). Himesh has definitely gone back to his roots with this album and has given it a very traditional sound; a sound that many think has been missing from Bollywood for a very long time. With a very heavy heart, we present our tribute to one of Bollywood’s finest music composers, Aadesh Srivastava, who sadly lost his battle with cancer. Our heartfelt condolences to the entire Srivastava and Pandit family. Aadeshji has two sons, Avitesh and Anivesh, with his wife Vijayta Pandit, who is sister of the famous Music Director duo Jatin-Lalit.
Aadeshji was not only a music director but also a background score composer. He gave the background score to many films, such as Humraaz, Ye Hai Jalwa and Paheli, the latter being one of our favorite and most noted background scores.
Before we take a look at our favourite songs composed by Aadeshji, here are some special tributes from his colleagues within the music industry that have had the chance to work with him and meet him over the years:

One music director who has had a wonderful year is none other than the multi-talented Himesh Reshammiya.
Himesh began the year by singing the song ‘Photocopy’ for the film Jai Ho for music directors Sajid-Wajid. This was the first time that Himesh had sung a song outside of his own compositions, that too in Gujarati and not in Hindi. The song had singer Palak Muchhal accompany Himesh on the vocals and went on to become very popular from the album!
It was then the moment that all loyal fans had been waiting for, to welcome Himesh the actor once again! Himesh had prepared himself for the role of Ravi Kumar in the 1960’s style thriller, The Xpose. Himesh stunned everyone with his super sleek new look, as he shed a massive 20kgs for the role of a suspended cop turned superstar. The film garnered a super hit response at the...

A soundtrack that is currently making waves in Bollywood, is the music of Prabhu Dheva’s Action Jackson. An album that has music by the extremely talented composer Himesh Reshammiya, has recently released its second song promo Punjabi Mast.
After giving the music for Son of Sardar and Bol Bachchan, this is the third time that Himesh is working with Ajay Devgn. The Son of Sardar title track (sung by Himesh and popular singer Aman Trikha) had become so famous, that it was the ringtone of nearly all in Punjab. Now Himesh is back with a new Punjabi anthem in the form of Punjabi Mast.
The promo sees a vibrant and energetic Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha. The song is extremely catchy and features a host of singers (Himesh, Vineet Singh, Alam Gir Khan, Ankit Tiwari & Neeti Mohan )
This is also, not the first time where Himesh has created a...

Read on to check out our thoughts on it!
First up we have the title track ‘Fugly’ sung, produced and written by the one-of-a-kind Yo Yo Honey Singh. The music has a hip-hop style to it and there are also some techno elements incorporated into the song also. To be frank, I wasn’t impressed by this one and it was just cringing to listen to throughout.

The music director created a cool set of songs with lots of new flavored notes, beats and vocals to back up the movie and from what we have seen so far the rapid, running pace of the film. See the breakdown of what we thought of the sounds of the world of Shortcut Romeo.
Pe Pe Pe starts off the album and it was so not what I was expecting. Very 60s feel and sound, the song is a perfect character theme song, much like they did back then. Himesh Reshammiya sounds fabulous and is having fun on the peppy and at the same time cool track. My only complaint is the electronic drum kit beats,...

Looking back at 2012 song-ically, it certainly was a year of cool sounds, new voices, groovy and groovin’ beats and over all some killer tracks. Many of the songs brought a new vibe to the music of the movies, songs flavored with new influences, and songs that we never would have thought we would hear in a Bollywood flick. There were classic beats that got us up and dancing not to mention the grooves of today that got us to move to the music. We met some new singers we can’t wait to hear more of and some of our favorites blew us away with outstanding vocals. 2012 was full of surprises and we enjoyed so many of them, 50 in fact and every single note! As always we loved these songs when they first came out but once we saw them in the movie we loved them even more! Check out...
