Publicity campaigns for “The Bear,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “Abbott Elementary” were among the winners at the inaugural Tpec Awards, a competition recognizing top publicity campaigns across television programming. The late Howard Bragman was awarded with the Ben Halpern Lifetime Achievement award for his long, impactful career in publicity.
“All these winners exemplify the creativity, hard work and relentless dedication to raising awareness of the exciting content available to viewers,” said Dustin Smith and Wendy Zocks, Tpec co-chairs, in a statement
“These awards extend Tpec’s mission to elevate and celebrate our talented members behind these publicity campaigns,” they said. “In addition, we are honored to present our first Lifetime Achievement Award to Howard Bragman, whose legacy transcends television to include impactfully helping the LGBTQ+ community.”

Tpec has announced the winners of its inaugural television publicity campaign competition along with the recipient of the Ben Halpern Lifetime Achievement Award.
The new television publicity campaign competition accepted submissions across nearly every genre and platform to recognize excellence for all programming publicity campaigns. The late Howard Bragman was also awarded the Ben Halpern Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication and career in publicity. Bragman died in February at the age of 66. Halpern was one of the founders of Tpec.
A celebration honoring the winners will be announced at a later date.

As the dust on the Warner Bros. Discovery merger settles, the company has set its global corporate communications and media relations team.
The team members and their roles were announced in an internal email by chief corporate communications officer Nathaniel Brown.
“It’s been a very busy, productive few months since the launch of our new combined company. During this time, I’ve really enjoyed meeting and talking with many of you and remain grateful for your openness, insights and patience throughout this process,” Brown wrote to staffers. “Both legacy companies bring tremendous talent, and this is especially true when it comes to the Communications function, which makes me even more excited about the team we’re building together for the future. Unfortunately, it has also made for some really tough decisions as we streamline the organization and necessarily eliminate duplicative roles.”

The “Game of Thrones” universe is expanding, with a new sequel series focusing on Jon Snow in the works at HBO. Kit Harington is set to reprise his role as the fan-favorite, brooding Night’s Watch soldier.

The project is in early development, but if it goes forward it will pick up following the events of the infamous series finale, which divided and outraged viewers in droves when it premiered in May 2019. Kristin Brown, Jennifer Driscoll, Larry Laque and Doug Seybert are also out have joined the growing list of executives leaving Warner Bros Discovery as part of the company’s post-merger streamlining, TheWrap has learned.
Their ouster comes less than 2 hours after it was made public that executive vice president Corie Henson and Food Network executive Todd Weiser have left.
Brown was a senior vice president of communications at Investigation Discovery and Travel Channel. Driscoll was a senior vice president of communications at the company, and first joined Discovery in 2015. Laque joined Discovery in 2003 and at the time of his exit was co-chief information officer and executive vice president in facilities and real estate. And Seybert, senior vice president of marketing, joined Discovery in 2009.

TBS dating show “The Big D,” hosted by “Bachelorette” newlyweds JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, will no longer air on the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned network, Variety has confirmed.
The 10-episode reality show, which follows recent divorcees on their search to find love in paradise, was set to premiere on July 7.
“We’re assessing our schedule to ensure we have the right content mix to support our network strategies,” a TBS spokesperson tells Variety. “We are grateful to JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers, and the executive producers of ‘Big D’ for their partnership through the process.”
